86 /100 520 E FLORIBRASKA AVE Package store, coffee shop, breakfast all day, brewery... Small place that packs a huge punch. A certain "must stop" in Tampa. Breakfast sandwich was awesome, as was the lager I washed it down with. Their lager game is on point. Great place. |
78 /100 456 W COLUMBUS visited during brewery hop around Tampa - cool spot, felt more night a cocktail lounge, but comfortable and nice |
80 /100 4101 N FLORIDA AVE visited during brewery hop around Tampa. Beautiful space - drink and food selection was impressive - nice |
84 /100 1631 N FRANKLIN ST visited during brewery hop around Tampa. My favorite of the places visited - cool set up, excellent selection - fun place to have a beer |
70 /100 1420 N FLORIDA AVE visited during brewery hop around Tampa - unqiue place - tall ceilings, a little weird |
72 /100 The Pint and Brew (Bar) 200 N TAMPA ST Located opposite the Hilton downtown, and open late. Flights available. Limited food. Good beer choices, worth visiting especially late after the breweries are closed |
80 /100 456 W COLUMBUS A cool spot near downtown with solid beer and good service. The atmosphere is nice too. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. |
84 /100 1506 N. FLORIDA AVENUE A meadery in downtown Tampa with good service and great mead. The space is small, but nice and cozy. Probably my favorite spot in Tampa, and that includes CC and AC. |
72 /100 1420 N FLORIDA AVE A cool spot in Tampa with a good atmosphere and tasty beer. My only rub was the service; the woman who was bartending when I went on Thursday was completely disconnected from her job, talking to a friend while I waited 5+ minutes to order a beer (and there were only two customers in the bar, including her friend). Went back the next day and the guy (who served me) bartending with her was much better (or the service score would've been a 4). Regardless, worth a stop if you're in the area. |
84 /100 Ybor City Tap House (Bar) 1600 E 7TH AVE E-113 Cool place with a pretty big tap list with lots of local Tampa stuff and some other Belgian imports and U.S. mainstays. Great patio overlooking the Ybor City sidewalk circus. The service is great too - the waitress even warned me away from a really crappy beer I tasted anyway because deez ticks. Some Angry Chair, Cigar City, 7venth Sun on tap. Flights available. Good stuff. |
96 /100 456 W COLUMBUS Best new brewery in Tampa by far!!! A must try! Best IPAs in the area, stouts are amazing. Their smoothie sours are the only ones I'll buy. |
86 /100 1420 N FLORIDA AVE I love the lay out, huge and spacious inside and out. The bar is stunningly large the logo looming over the room. Super cool. The beers were great. I had my 3 best pours of a very long day here. I would for sure come back, and next time it wouldn't be my last stop. |
72 /100 1631 N FRANKLIN ST HS continues to amaze with their pastry sours. I had some truly wonderful tastes, but the drinkability of them remains an issue. 5oz sure, a can, no way. Had their 3 stouts, the heavy adjunct usage didn't translate as well as their sours, but they did do a better orange stout than GI. Cool design inside. A solid choice if at Garagiste or Magnanimous. |
78 /100 1208 E. KENNEDY SUITE 112 came in here for "late start" beers - this place was less than a block from my hotel. big beer list of "late start" and guest brews, mostly "late start". got some decent non-local ticks. nice staff but nothing more. a little slow, maybe from it being a sunday during NFL play offs. |
54 /100 1600 E 8TH AVE street parking and was easy find free parking. walked in and saw a dude with a Jackie O's hat. things went a little downhill after that. server was a little too "hands off" about helping us. I don't mind being left alone, but not that much. Beer list was big, but not too many beer styles I wanted (as in not enough even for a flight if they have that). food was good. I like the neighborhood and feel like this was a "necessary" corporate establishment to make the "less essential" ones possible. There is merit in that, but to some extent. maybe I was just in a bad mood. some of the other servers seemed more attentive |
78 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET came in during the few days of the renovation. Had no idea this was going on. I showed and saw a "pod" with 8-10 beer on tap with a "deck" on top. a huge downer at first. went on the tour and this changed my mind, immensely. not their fault I showed up at this time. The place looks like it will be better than before especially with a regular food option and more seating room. from the taps: got two great beers. On the tour got a sort of rare beer. small lot. no clue if has wifi. not sure if place is kid friendly with the new set up. |
80 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET Nice taproom with a good selection of beer. I've been drinking Cigar City beers for a while and finally made it to the brewery on a trip through Tampa area. Definitely worth the stop. All of the beers I tried were good and they had some that I had not tried yet. Also quite a few more unique bottled beers, though those were quite pricy. |
82 /100 1506 N. FLORIDA AVENUE One of the last stops on the Tampa trip...some outside space and working space with tables and a bar inside along with some TVs showing NFL playoffs when we were there. Board games and family friendly including a colouring station for kids. Laid back and not too busy on a Saturday at 6pm. Samples of everything they had on tap, some bottles for sale. Only complaint was that most of the bottles for sale were not available on tap to try...may have been a timing things but when throwing down $30+ for a bottle of mead it would be nice to try first...especially because the mead ranged from mind-blowing to mediocre. Worth a visit for sure. |
68 /100 Total Wine & More - Tampa, FL (Beer Store) 1720 NORTH DALE MABRY HIGHWAY About a 5 minute walk, if that, from Cigar City. They have a few taps that you can get growler fills from and if you can convince them (we did) they are willing to give samples...decent beer selection including a few gems from wakefield and other interesting places. But I don't really get the pricing - some stuff was really cheap and some was stupidly overpriced - think you just need to know your beer and normal prices to figure out what is worth spending money on. |
76 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET Stayed in a hotel about a 5 min walk during a weekend in the area. Solid selection at the multiple bars, like the variety of sizes and the different bottles in various firdges to go and for on site, even if the member fridge is a bit of a tease. Not sure I would want to spend an entire evening there but definitely worth a visit. |
74 /100 Total Wine & More - Tampa, FL (Beer Store) 1720 NORTH DALE MABRY HIGHWAY Same as most Total Wines. Copped a few cans here after Cigar City just to try some interesting stuff, though they didn't seem to have much of a local focus. Lots of singles as usual. |
82 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET A good place, and worth the visit if in the area, even though I'd had most of their main titles by the time I visited. Copped a Zhukov variant, as well as a few lesser known one brews. Service friendly enough, and everything available in flights or single 4oz pours. Some bottles and cans of bigger, or aged, variants of Zhukov or Hunahpu. Prices decent, though those bottles are very expensive. |
60 /100 2601 E. 2ND AVE. Very cool spot inside visually, a confessional, bourbon barrels on the walls and you can see into the production area. Service was solid and quick. Beers were pretty average. Decent food. |
82 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET A couple of blocks down from the football stadium. A large metal building a block of the main drag. Huge tap selection, I did not have much time here so I just got one beer. I think it was $6 for a pint. I did not take the tour but it looked like a lot of people were waiting to take it. Service was great and it was packed for a Sunday. One of those breweries you have to visit if you close to the area. |
78 /100 13921 LYNMAR About 2 miles down from Tampa Bay Downs in a odd location right in the middle of a industrial park. All things old English bar from the wooden bar to the bangers and mash on the menu. They only had 3 of their own beers on hand pump but they had about 10 guest beers on tap. Food was decent if not a bit pricey for what you get. Nice English couple own the place and work the bar. Decent place to go for English ales and soccer watching. |
70 /100 13937 MONROES BUSINESS PARK A couple of blocks down from Tampa Bay Downs in a large metal looking building. Nice outdoor seating area with pleanty of seating inside with open windows to let the breeze in. About 14 of their own beers on tap and the sampler of 4 5oz. beer was $14. Decent beers and there seems to be a quick turnaround once a beer blows. Service was fine and I did not have any food here. Decent place to hit after you win or lose big at the track. |
60 /100 4500 N. NEBRASKA AVE We came here on 30.12.2018. A homebrew shop is integrated in the brewpub. Spacious outside seating area, a bit sloppy and disorganized. Had the Pre Prohibiton Pilsner, which was absolutely ok. The Pale Ale tasted like a Pilsner. Many bears offered on the board, were not available. An ok place, close to some better breweries in Tampa. |
86 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET We visited Cigar City Brewing on 28.12.2018. This brewery was one of the first Craft beer breweries in Florida and opened in 2009. A lot of the new breweries in the Tampa area have been opened by former Cigar City employees. Cigar City has recently been acquired by a corporation, which also owns Oscar Blues. Seems Cigar City beers will be brewed also in the other locations. Hope they will keep
at least the local breweries independent. We had a great tour and saw the old and new brewhouse. Really good value for money: 8 $ - 1 hour tour, 4 beer tasting and you can keep the glas. They have 2 bars. Interior is just ok, definitely an area they can improve (seems the tap room will be rebuilt soon). We tasted the cask conditioned Maduro, an English brown Ale, which won the gold medal at Great American Beer festival in 2018 - tapped below room temperature, nothing for Ben, but excellent !! They had more than 25 beers on tap when we visited. |
84 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET Large darkish space, indifferent decour; thankfully not too crowded on weekday mid afternoon; worth visiting for the great beer alone; service varies from indifferent to great; despite opinions to the contrary still the best beer around here, good WiFi, flights available, a mandatory stop for me if I am in Tampa |
100 /100 Liquor Depot (Beer Store) 2534 E. BEARSS AVE. Lots of positives coming from this place and shopping center. Brand new gym and grocery store going in so the environment is getting better. Store itself has a great selection, cold beer, and even tobacco / JUUL pods. If you cant find something you want, the employees are more than happy to order it for you or get it from one of their other locations. Store even offers student discounts!! |
68 /100 1506 N. FLORIDA AVENUE Comfortable little tasting room where you can taste some very high quality fruited meads. 6 meads on tap, with 3 oz pours available for $6-8 - frankly absurd, even given the very high quality product (even Superstition and Schramm's are much more reasonable). It would be nice if they offered 1 oz pours for a couple bucks like the aforementioned meaderies. Service is decent, but non-engaging. Meads are phenomenal, though more like fruit wines with the fruit-dominated nature of the products. Definitely worth a visit for the great beverages, but prepare for a wallet shellacking. |
76 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET Feels like a tired old place at this point. Long tasting room, with two separate bars, the one at the back being the main one. 23 house taps when I visited, with 5 oz pours available, priced the beer—which can get pricey, anywhere from $2-6. Nonchalant and impersonable, rushes service, but decent enough. Beer is as you’d expect from these veterans - they know what they’re doing. There’s a fridge of vintage rarity bottles for onsite consumption with all sorts of goodies, but you’d need many friends and a deep wallet for it. Kind of a mandatory visit when in Tampa, but there are better breweries here at this point. |
64 /100 2601 E. 2ND AVE. Just outside of the downtown, this place has its parking lot out front. Nicely set-up tasting room, with an upstairs that is often booked for private parties. A dozen or so taps, with 5 oz pours available priced according to the beer ($2.50-4). Beer quality was very average, with nothing really being that impressive. Service was extremely friendly and very personable. Not a great beer destination, but it’s a fun place to hang out. |
70 /100 1600 E 8TH AVE Cool spot, fees like an old-fine brewpub but spruced up and modern feeling. Good taplist of house beers, with flights of 4 available for a pricey $12. Very friendly service. Didn’t order food, as there is nothing vegan, barely anything vegetarian. Beer quality was solid but nothing mind-blowing. If you’re in the neighbourhood and have time, it’s worth a stop. |
46 /100 1812 NORTH 15TH STREET In a real cool neighbourhood, parking is tough, but we found a parkade a block away for $1/hour. Unfortunately, Cigar City has no house meads on tap when we visited - a huge bummer. They did have lots of ciders on tap. We ordered a flight of 4 for $8, a decent deal. But the cider quality was so poor - honestly, but they tasted like cheap, sweet, industrial faux-ciders that the masses drink. Really, really poor quality. Service was good. I wish I could’ve tasted some of the higher rates meads, but the ciders were really poor. |
62 /100 1600 E 8TH AVE Very busy place with plenty of tourists. It was hard to get any spot by bar or table. Service was rushed and very neutral. Bonus - they do have sampler. |
80 /100 1631 N FRANKLIN ST This is my second visit, and this never disappoints. About 10 taps, with a mix of ipas, sours, stouts, to keep it interesting. Cans to go. 2 to 4$ per 4 ounce taster. Good friendly service. Street parking could be an issue at peak times. In walking distance from Garagiste so you can switch to fantastic meads. |
76 /100 Lee’s Grocery (Grocery Store) 2210 CENTRAL AVE Good bottle selection,, decent rotating taps, good price, excellent pizza, good prices for bottle. Free samples of draft avaoslanlr. Very nice and solid place. |
84 /100 1506 N. FLORIDA AVENUE Another great place in Tampa. Great meads by the 5 ounces pour, 5 to 10$, all top selections. Service was friendly and prompt. 6 to 12$ per 5 ounces pour. Parking is relatively easy. |
74 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET A decent taphouse if a but overcrowded. Pretty efficient service despite the press. Quite a few of their own beers on tap. |
98 /100 14949 BRUCE B DOWNS BLVD This is Oldest European and craft beer bar in The state. Over the last two years they have added Dunderbrau brewery. And have won 2 medals in the Best Florida Beer contest. The tap room has 65 drafts and over 500 bottles. 7-10 draft are from thier brewery. Established 1974 at University mall tampa. The have a full menu of German and American items. |
84 /100 1810 NORTH HIGHLAND AVE Stopped in for lunch prior to bruins bolts playoff game. Place was jamming. Gorgeous building and location. I sat at bar. Food was quite good and everything I saw others get looked good as well. The beers online weren’t exciting but they tried to make a lambic which wasn’t half bad and they let me try a Idaho 7 ipa that was quite good. A place I would bring family back to as its tasty and good vibes. |
80 /100 1631 N FRANKLIN ST Right around corner from meadery. I just grabbed a growler to go I’ve had some nice things from these guys in past. Normal looking brewery tasting room nothing special but nice location. Like 10 drafts or so and a few bottles and cans available to go. Nice bartender fairly quite during brief visit. |
82 /100 1506 N. FLORIDA AVENUE Stopped in briefly just to get something to go on prior to hockey game. Nice location and standard little tasting room. Friendly staff. Only two bottle available to go I picked one which turns out to be unrateabke which is sad. A bunch on draft wish I had time to try some. The bottle I got was quite pricey but that’s the mead game I guess although I’m still a rookie I suppose. |
84 /100 3924 WEST SPRUCE STREET A couple of bars and a rather hugh apparel/items shop between. About 20 Taps and some rare Cellar bottles to drink in-house and about 10 go-to bottles. |
66 /100 1812 NORTH 15TH STREET Post Hunahpu's day ... passed by and talked everyone into stopping by. They didn't seem that busy, but took forever for the 1 dude behind the bar to serve us. Ciders, meads and beers all served in sampler / flight sizes to boot. Nice selection, but that service on a slow Sunday ... |
