“We visited the Tegernseer Bräustübel the first time on March 5th 2017. Despite the cold temperature we could sit outside in the sun, where we had a great view to the lake and the snow-covered mountains. Stunning panorama. The brewery and the monastery are next door. The beers are not great, very light. We had a Helles and the Export. On draft they also have Scheider Weisse. Food did taste well, we had a Bierbraten and dumplings with mushrooms. Service was unexpectedly very friendly. You do not come for the beer, but for the outstanding view from the beer garden.“

“Visited 20th April 2014. Walked the 10 mins or so from the station. It’s a large place just up the road from the lake edge. It’s a traditional spot and was heaving when we visited. Managed to get a table in side and had a spot of lunch whilst trying all the beers on offer. Service was OK. Food decent and beer decent enough. Liked the venue as all old and wood, a little dark. Worth the trip out from Munich for it.“

“Visited on 6th oct 2014 .. Came here on our way to bamberg just after lunch time so the place was busy but most of the people were already served so our order came faster .. This is a very beautiful place in a old monastery but I think is linked with something royal as well.. Anyway .. It’s just 100 meters from the lake bank so if good weather you can enjoy beers and food sitting in the big tables outside .. We stayed in for enjoying the old atmosphere .. We had the spezial hell and the dunkel with the first a bit better in our taste .. At the end of the day is worth the stop if you are nearby first of all for the location .. About the beer I can say they weren’t bad but nothing special anyway , the spezial was sweet like most of them in south of Bavaria and the dunkel didn’t have any peak .. We had a good chicken salad that was very nice and tasteful .. Oh yes it’s obviously super touristic and we spotted even some Italians but I think most of people in there were Germans ..“

“This place is a pure tradition. It’s more than 300 years old, interiors are superb, beers on tap are really good and really appreciated by locals. Food is fantastic - great hanx, schweinbraten, obazda, tartar. I love this place.“

“A nice place, but sometimes a bit touristy and often very noisy. Located on the shore of the picturesque Tegernsee it is - no doubt - worth a visit...........“

“A wonderful setting in the former Monks Refectory. Low arched stone building which can get busy in the evening. The service is efficient but the food is of the snack variety.“
