92 /100 67, RUE DE CAZEAU Visited during the open days and for a collab brew with Saint Somewhere of FL.
Nestled in the quiet countryside, old farmhouse dating back to 1861. Laurent Agache and the staff are very welcoming. The brewer’s father still lives on the farm.
There are no schedule per say and although it is possible to stop by and buy the beers it is highly recommended to call ahead. With that being said, the place is not a bar nor has it vocation to be one, although some of the rooms are set up to welcome groups.
Five excellent beers, with an amazing elderflower saison, are brewed there, possible to buy beer chocolate and beer cheese as well.
One thing shines when visiting the place, the intemporal feel that you get being there. That with the service makes the visit worthwhile and the reason why small breweries need to get our support.
Ambiance : breath in the centuries of history.
Service : it’s a working brewery so don’t go there expecting the brewer to stop his activity for you.
Selection: ltd but all the beers are available.
Value: what better value than to buy directly at the source.
Overall : great place, a bit out of the way, and a definite need to call ahead. |
