“Quite central location and friendly service. Not very impressive selection on tap, but some interesting (semi-local). Didn't check out the bottles so much, but would probably find something there as well. Quite relaxed on a Sunday afternoon and the average age of the clients seemed to be somewhere in around 70, so it made me feel young. Interesting interiour and certainly worth checking out if one happens to be in the area.“

“The best thing about this place is the ambiance. Interesting inside (it used to be school) and with a large beer garden (including a small playground for the kids). Beers and food are OK nothing more or less“

“Waaaaaaaay up a hill. You can take the funicular or taxi or walk it. Old prison complex being redeveloped. Really cool location. Brews were very good. Service also good. Very good choice in Turku.“

“On a corner but entrance from Humalistonkatu. Opens at 14 note on door said. Google said 18. Mixed interior and furniture as from flee market, but nicely composed though. Old english pop music played. Several interesting taps, and three coolheads. I had a Kimito Ölvar, almost sounds as house beer.“

“In an old city building on the corner of Eerikinkatu and Kauppakato at the eastern corner of the big square. Always fresh Teerenpelis. Interior is not as old as exterior, I felt. Okay place, but beerish the neighbour Skaal is a significant level up.“

“Tempting dishes with steak or burgers. 18 taps. Some with "Woolshed", which have beers from Germany. I'll try to find out if the brewery is traceable. The house lager is good.“

“I visited New Pharmacy (=Uusi Apteeki) at 14 to avoid crowds. Pharmacy interior as since 1906. Only minor changes done to it, to make it a beer pub. Many high quality well known imports on tap. I found a Mallassepat. Beerfrigerators have exclusive beers. Good beerspot.“

“Located in an old former school building. Koulu is finnish for school. Ten taps, of which six beers, three ciders, and one lonk. Kitchen opens at three o'clock. I got peanuts and six 1-decilitre tasters. Interesting place.“

“Alko Kupittaa (in Kuppis Citymarket) has about 300 beers, very good, best in Turku. Car parking has a sonewhat odd position to the west from the northwestern edge of the building, but alright, I found it.“

“Quiet on sunday early afternoon. This beerspot (beer hall Google says) runs interesting import, from Amager, Brewdog, big german brands and other. No food available, though I think I saw the word "ravintola" somewhere. I had a big new sour ipa from Brewdog as pre-dinner.“

“Just beside Koulu, so very convenient location. Smartish bar/pub feel, more a sit-up-and-beg than a slouch vibe. Nice terrace for people-watching. Opens earlier than many places. Some of the locals are staggering! Great staff, smallest pour was 200ml, which was a shame, but samples were offered, and even a "here, try this" delivered to our table. Large selection - 16 taps and 80 bottles counted. Definitely recommended - we came here 3 times in a 2-day trip! This makes up for the sad loss of Pankki in the Turku scene.“

“Beer shop / pub in downtown Turku. While small as a place, rather good ~150 beer selection, both Finnish and foreign brews. In particular nice selection of domestic beers not very well available elsewhere in Turku. Retail until -21 in the evening and limited to 5.5 % as per the law. Selection also contains items that can only be enjoyed on-site.“

“Visited on a Wednesday evening in August 2021. A large place located in an old school building. The large Biergarten was quite popular during my visit. 5 own German style beers on tap during my visit, the beers were ok. Very central location in Turku, only 3 minutes walk from my Hotel, Scandic Plaza.“

“Visited on a Wednesday early afternoon in August 2021. Located 10 minutes walk from my Hotel, Scandic Plaza. This is a fairly large bar with an interesting and unigue interior, located in an old pharmacy. The selection on tap was kind of ok, unfortunately no own beers on tap. (I did not check the bottle list) A relaxed atmospere during my visit, but still with some fun characters among the other guests. “

“Visited on a Wednesday in August 2021. It took me 20 minutes to walk to this place from my Hotel, Scandic Plaza. A modern place with a patio located in an expanding arena with new apartments and restaurants. The service was polite and the beers that I tried were decent. 15 beers on tap during my visit, 3 of them were guests. Also a small shop for beers to go. I would not mind to visit this place again.“

“Location right at the doors of a shopping centre is a little unusual, but you can sit away from the entrance if the view perturbs you. Wide range of ever-changing beers, but only a few were ticks for a regular Finnish visitor. Fridge has some high quality locals and imports though, some very tempting. No sample pours, alas, so we limited ourself to two and ran. One was kind-of a house brew, they're apparently setting up a small Braumeister or something. Friendly staff, happy to chat about the scene. Definitely worth a visit, and nicely central too, so no excuses. However, beware Finnish prices (you're used to this by now, no?)“

“No ticks for me, but a limited-distribution smoked pilsner will shut me up and put a smile on my face any day. Clean, and dare I say sophisticated, cafe feel, not really for ugly Pigpens like me. Food supported that presumption - in particular in the sweet department. If you're taking non-beer friends or family around town, certainly pop in here and you might get treated to a surprise on the beer front, but they'll like it as a nice place to relax no matter what you think.“

“Nice little find, worth the walk to the student side of town, it's not far past the church once you've crossed the river. Bright cafe feel. Looked like it had a youthful student vibe, but we got there at opening time, and students would have still been in bed. At least 8 taps, IIRC, including some national ones well worth hunting out, and other more local ones best avoided - locals will know what I'm referring to. Internationals too (Sweden and Scotland were my ticks). Fridge was pretty solid, many high quality craft imports. Staff were friendly and helpful - even managing to direct us to local food recommendations (curry house right opposite gets my vote - we had an excellent business lunch there), as well as hints on the rest of the Turku beer scene (we've been away for many years, it's changed a bit). Alas, has Finnish prices, but all in all quite highly recommended.“

“Riverside restaurant on the opposite bank to the Cathedral. Terrace in summer; two-storey inside. Decent food and a range of about 20 beers, 80% in bottle, with an eye for smaller independent producers. The best lunch or supper stop in the city for beer.“

“The best beer bar in Turku by a country mile, so far as I could tell. A sound, resilient range of beers from many countries not least Finland, stronger on British class act beers than most British pubs. It must surely appease tickers - they even had the sainted Westvleteren when I visited. Not the most sophisticated atmosphere, nudged into the side of a small shopping precinct and as expensive as Finland is, but a great place to sit and interesting beers. And there are comics too.“

“Central, but a bit hidden, and slightly suspicious looking from the outside, but warm and nice atmosphere inside. Relaxed and fairly cozy with decent tap and bottle selection. Nothing exceptional, but certainly the best I saw in this city at least. Well worth a visit.“

“Another rather special place in Turku, and again not because of the beer selection, food or service or anything like that, but as it's a former school building and they have kept a fair amount of the interior it's quite cool. Typical German style brews that was quite okay, but not standing out in any way. Still a place worth checking out.“

“A short walk from the city center towards the harbour. Visited on the way to the ferry for one last beer in Turku. Usual pub style interior. Selection and service was fair enough, but not really impressive. There are certainly better places nearby, but might be worth popping in to check the taplist (not much local/domestic beer on tap when I visited, so I ended up with a BrewDog instead)“

“Wasn’t impressed with this place. A few blocks from the centre, boasting an allegedly large taplist. Only a couple crafts on tap. Smallest size in 0.3L, nothing smaller, which means you’re paying at least €6-7 for something reasonable. Bartender didn’t speak a word of English - surprising for Finland - so it was a chore to order. Patio was very chill and comfortable though. Maybe worth a look, but not a top spot in town.“
