| 68 /100 Devonshire Arms (Bar) BRADDYLL TERRACE, VICTORIA ROAD “Ignore the early to mid 80s signage and the lime green walls (or embrace them, depending on your aesthetics). This is a brilliant beer pub. Four real ales at any time, plus a couple of interesting keg. Saltaire and Bank Top seem to feature heavily among their Cumbrian brethren. Worth including in any Ulverston crawl.“ |

Five ales (all Cumbria or north Lancashire), one real fire, and lots of conversation. Good for your Cumbria ticks: try three thirds for £3. Ulverston is a great town for a pub crawl, and this one shouldn’t be missed.“ |
| 64 /100 Stan Laurel Inn (Bar) 31 THE ELLERS “Pub-cum-shrine to the great comedian born in town. Open-plan, atmospheric main bar with a billiards room to the side and a restaurant in the back. An old fella’s pub: I’m 42 and by far the youngest customer... there’s the staff and the pub cat but they don’t count. Six Cumbria (or nearby) ales available, including two from the Ulverston brewery. My pint wasn’t in the best nick disappointingly. Still a decent place to while away some time. I just feel that a little more attention to detail could go a long way.“ |
| 78 /100 Mill (Lancaster) (Bar) MILL STREET “Lovely pub with a main bar and a restaurant out back. A real mill! The pretty-but-no-longer-in-use watermill is not, however, the main attraction. That would be the eight excellent ales. Usual suspects from Lancaster plus guests from Thwaites and Thornbridge among others. Perfect condition. A great pub.“ |

Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Most of the food hit the mark. 4 cask ales on, some better than others. One was from the local Ulverston brewery. Worth checking out!“ |
