72 /100 24333 NARROW GAUGE RD Cool place in the middle of nowhere. Stopped in here on the way to Lake Anna for a weekend. They didn't have any of their own beer on tap, but had a pretty good draft lineup. I had a Speedway. Friendly service the pizza was OK. The outdoors part is pretty cool, with a rustic open-air barn for seating with a stage and some other tables out in the yard. Low points on selection doesn't reflect the taplist so much as the fact that they don't have any of their own beer on tap. |
52 /100 24333 NARROW GAUGE RD It appears you're pulling up someone's driveway to get to this place, and from the outside this is nothing to see (though they're new and there was someone building something when I arrived). Inside is quite nice. Nice bar, wood stoves, a big TV... some animal heads, if that's your thing. The place definitely feels cozy and will be nice and warm on a cold winter day. The service was very friendly. Only three beers on tap at the moment and they need some work, but two of them have a good backbone. No flights right now, but half pours are available. Did not try the food (bratwurst, kielbasa, kraut). If I'm ever in the area again, I'll stop back. I think with a little tweaking the beers could get better. |
