“A very dark joint with vintage rock decor and a stand for a band on one corner. Eight taps and more than a hundred bottles and cans in three fridges. Many trappists, Magic Rock, To Ol, Sierra Nevada... Had some potato skins with guacamole at one of the outdoor little tables. Friendly staff.“

“The place to go in Valletta. Quite small both inside and on sidewalk tables but nice selection of Malta and international beers (from To Ol to Sierra Nevada) plus lots of Belgians. Open at noon so works well as a stop while touring the impressive Valletta sites. Has pizza too.“

“2020 Visit. Visited twice. Firstly a restaurant and aimed at tourists in a good way. Very good service with staff from all around Italy, UK,… etc. Beautiful interior, keeps full but you can always squeeze in if with little people. I didn’t have food here but food looked visually very lovely. They say that they are only place in Valetta to have Lord Chambray in the menu which is not true since I have seen it on tap in Wild Honey as well. Lord Chambray prominently featured with 9 taps. I wound up during a tap takeover of Magic Rock so they had about 6 of those taps switched to Magic Rock. 6.50 euro for all beers on tap which is okay given high prices of Valleta and awesome for me since I could get Bearded Lady for that price but that is obviously not the standard situation. Prime spot to hit the Lord Chambray beers but bottle selection might be even more inviting with AleBrowar, Magic Rock, To Øl bottles and cans and quite good prices about 5 euro for a To Øl BIPA. Also other Maltese breweries. Also some silly Belgians like Floris & Brunehaut, the market gets what the market wants, I guess. Wild Honey around the corner is more beer geeky but this place is actually surprisingly nice. Quite relaxing. (Associated with Del Borgo / AB-InBev ??? There is a Del Borgo logo on the door and elsewhere and they don’t sell their beers, odd).“

“2020 Visit. Vegetarian restaurant / bar / hangout / whatever. Interior looks like they hired Ralph Steadman to do a Cuban bar of sorts, very interesting, also some Rastafarian artifacts for good measure. Definitely a change of scenery. Selection is quite wide from cheap supermarket lager to AleBrowar & Lord Chambray (you can get those elsewhere obv.). They had a pot of peanut butter on the counter so I got a plate of that for 5 euro it was decent. They could have cut the ginger finer. They also do sandwiches, salads etc. The thing for me was that the beer end of things wound up being quite DYI. Went to the fridge got something, opened it & drank from the bottle, fine by me but paying 5 euro for a common beer then seemed bit too steep. It felt like it should have been cheaper given the DYI nature & that beer was cheaper elsewhere with service. Still interesting place.“

“2020 Visit. Definitely the most beer geeky place I visited on Malta. Quite a surprise really. Smallish, comfy dark with lots of brewery including plenty of Belgian paraphernalia and music, LP decorations etc. More rock music playing. 6 taps split between mainstream craft Lord Chambray, Chouffe & Punk IPA but more amazingly 2 Omnipollo beers (served soft serve) & Great Divide Cherry Chocolate Yeti. Got the last one it was +/- 8.50 euro for a pint (actual pint unlike everywhere else even I suspect since it came in a Magic Rock glass). Out of bounds compared to the other locations around. I had a vegetarian meatballs & artichoke with coconut Maltase style pizza to eat. No real kitchen but oven etc. Food was pleasant enough, bit steep in price but so is everything in this region. 3 fridges full of beers, heavy focus on classical Belgians but also Magic Rock & To Øl etc. The To Øl I got was pricier than the ones at 67 Kapitali but I also picked a rarer one than those at 67 Kapitali. Good number of beers I haven’t seen anywhere else. Very cool, no brainer visit if in region.“

“Probably the best (craft)beer list on the island, with a lot of Lord Chambray (local brewer from Gozo), some other local beers, and some international brewers (To Ol, Brussels Beer Project, and others). Prices are a bit steep though. For example, we visited more regular bars/restaurants on the island where beers from LC were about 60-75% of the price listed here. Place has a cozy feel. The service was welcoming, but a bit pushy and not the most knowledgable/helpful when picking beers. We did enjoy ourselves though and tasted some nice beers.“

“Cozy little bar in downtown Valletta. 9 taps, all having Lord Chambray on them, couple dozen cans and bottles in the fridges (Sierra Nevada, To Øl and some local stuff) alongside with couple of ciders. Soft drinks and cocktails are also available. Stopped by on an afternoon and we were one of two tables taken, then again once on a Saturday evening when all the outside seatings were full. The most random moment of our holiday also happened here: the bartender, with whom we’d had a full conversation earlier turned out to be Hungarian just as we said goodbye.“

“Probably the best choice of tap beers in Malta. Good place to try the local breweries, especially Lord Chambray. The staff is very helpful. The bottle choice is rather limited, that's the only let down. Well worth the visit. Didn't try the food thus no notes.“

“Look déjanté du lieu fcaon veiux pub dans Simon jus, très bonne ambiance avec des classisues rock, plusieurs frigos remplis de bières différentes et notamment de très beaux classiques belges mais aussi quelques très bonne brasseries moins connues comme la brasserie Magic rock qui dépote bien. Ils proposent aussi des planches de charcuterie et fromage ou juste de fromage, mais je ne les ai pas testées. Super adresse !“

“Absolutely amazing vegan and vegetarian food - among best food I've had anywhere in my life. Seating outside in the pedestrian zone of Valletta (tent in winter) or in a cosy room inside. Super friendly staff and owners. Selection of Maltese and Italian craft beers and quality organic wines. Very much recommended!“

“Ideal if you’re visiting Valetta with your family and fancy a good beer. Set out like a coffee and cake shop, it offers tasty looking food platters, soft drinks, wines and a good range of gins, which worked for my lot. Local Lord Chambray beers on tap, with other Maltese and Italian beers, some Belgian and big names like Magic Rock and Toøl. Stayed for two and would happily have stayed longer.“

“Located close to the Saluting Battery and the city gate, this cellar venue is quite spacious and has an air of a Saturday night bar. The selection is quite decent (4 taps and 40+ bottles), including a variety of styles from Malta and beyond, both micro and macro. Polite and knowledgeable staff. Prices not bad but in the upper end by the local standards. Definitely worth a visit.“

“Definitely one of the best places to enjoy - but not necessarily hunt - beer in Malta. Located in a side lane of the historical centre of the beautiful Valletta, this tiny bar has an impressive selection of beers from well-known breweries all over the world (Stone, BrewDog, ...), with Malta represented by The Huskie Craft and Lord Chambray. Very polite and knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Would love to be back again.“

“Great place in a pedestrian area in Valletta where it's just great to sit outside and lounge and watch the people go by. Really extensive selection of craft beer on tap and in bottles/cans, including Mikkeller, Brussels Beer Project, Evil Twin, Stone, Poppels and they cater for gluten free and organic wishes. Probably the best place for craft beer in Valletta as it also has some nice local beers!“

“Wow! Happened to stumble upon this place in the heart of Valletta, just off the main pedestrian thoroughfare. This is a seriously quirky cinema with loads of vintage equipment and a SERIOUS beer list to go with all the classic movies that they show here. They even serve Brasserie de la Senne beers on tap and had KBS and a bunch of other rare Mikkeller beers in the fridge. Very pleasant surprise in Malta!“

“I rather enjoyed this small establishment located well within the historical heart of Valletta. It's an easy to find corner location with seating for about 24 inside and a couple of tables outside. They serve 9 Lord Chambray beers, one on the hand pump, and they have several bottles, including some from THe Phoenix Raw Beer Company (Malta). I tried a sandwich off of their menu and thought it rather tasty. The chutney mixed with banana served with Parma ham and brie made an excellent combination. The prices are quite reasonable and the service very good.“

“Stopped in for a couple of Maltese pints. They advertise the only one place in Valletta with Lord Chambray on tap. Limited number of taps mainly LC. Other Maltese brews available were Phoenix “raw beer” whatever that means in a bottle. Had some italian beer as well. Had a couple LC and Phoenix and they were solid beers. Nice place staff were great the food looked good but didn’t try.“

“Visited 13/7/2018. Situated under the Castille Hotel in an underground cave, hence the name. Only a couple of taps (local) but a decent bottle list of over 100 bottles, probably the best in Valletta, with Malta well represented along with Belgium, Italy, a few from the US, Germany etc. The cave setting gives it a novel atmosphere though most people were sitting at the pavement tables outside. The service was ok. Live music features. Nice setting on the square. Should be visited if in Valletta though it wasn't my favourite place.“

“Visited 13/7/2018. Super cool little music and beer bar. 5 small tables inside, similar set up on the hill outside. Walls adorned with framed LP's. Best pub music soundtrack playing. 3 fridges of beers, Belgian dominate but lots of others too, plus 8 taps including the 2 beers by local brewer Stretta. Friendly service. Was first in at opening time but it was soon getting busy. Great vibe. Have plans to visit a few places this evening so will be off soon but could have stayed here the whole night!“

“Visited 9/7/2018. Great place for local beers from Lord Chambray and Phoenix Raw Beer. Now have 9 taps, 7 of which were from LC, and a fridge full of beers including bottles from LC and all 5 from Raw Beer, and others mainly from Italy. Place is run by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team who are very much into their craft beers (they are currently advertising for a new member of staff and being interested in craft beer is the top requirement). Service was great and very friendly. A bit on the pricey side, no flights, and 30cl is the smallest serving at €4.50 each but tasters are willingly offered. Nice looking food menu but didn't eat here. The place itself has a chic cult cafe feel and it all makes for a thoroughly enjoyable visit.“

“A tiny pub near the central square in Valetta. It is located in the wrong spot on the Ratebeer map. It is in the other direction if you go the from the Republic Street. The selection is less than impressive as others have noted, and there were no more interesting bottles left either. The best I found was a bottled Marston’s Oyster Stout. Fairly busy on a Thursday afternoon in October.“

“Located in one of the first side lanes after the old city gate this place is a pub-and-restaurant, though more of the former, at least by local standards. The tiny interior has 5 tables but there are twice as many outside. The selection is what can be expected in Malta: 5 macro taps: Cisk, Guinness, Strongbow, Carlsberg and Heineken, and the small selection of bottles is not more inspiring than that, but all this has to be seen in the light of the fact that Malta is an unlikely destination for a gourmet beer hunter. Most places on the island offer fewer beers than this one. The staff are very friendly - like in all places in Malta. I haven’t tried the food but it does look inviting, indeed. Not very expensive, but I have been to cheaper places on the island. Might come back again one day when on holiday in the country.“

“Well, given that everything is minute in Malta, the microscopic size of this pub comes as no surprise: a five-foot-long bar, two tables inside and three outside. It is cozy, though. The selection is just as tiny and not impressive at all: Guinness, Cisk and John Smith’s. The staff, though, are very friendly and helpful. Inexpensive and enjoyable. Reportedly the only pub in Valletta, so I might want to be back while still on holiday here.“
