“Pretty large place in the town center, small bar with four stools or so and a bunch of restaurant tables, plus some picnic tables outside. Brewhouse visible right next to the bar. Brewer and one of the founders Johan was behind the bar so I got expert advice on the beers. 12 house beers on tap plus three from Viking. Flights of four are possible, and Johan was generous with samples, so I tried most of them anyway, and got some cans to go. Beers were very tasty, favorites were two saisons, one of which had herbs collected from the island. Steady stream of locals throughout the night. Food is free popcorn but that's it; fortunately they are surrounded by restaurants. Worth a trip to the island just to visit this taproom.“

“Visited on a Thursday afternoon, right after they opened at 1400. Newer building, with a modern metal and wood interior. Plenty of seating inside or on tables on the front patio. Beer selection is 7 house beers along with 3 guests. In addition to draft, they had many bottles in the fridge, including a bunch of crazy Geuze bottles. Beers are available as full pours or a 4 beer taster of their 4 most popular beers. No food, though they had popcorn. Service was fantastic, very proud of what they have built, and knowledgeable about the Icelandic beer scene. Absolute must hit for a beer person traveling to Vestmannaeyjar.

82 = ***½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Visited as a tourist to Iceland for the first time.

Our visit here was on July 7, 2018.
Went here for fancy dinner, had started, main and desert. Nice food. Just a few beers available from The Brothers Brewery, and not from our favs, but still. Not a place to head for the beer, but nice food. Quite pricey, but worth it. Food kind of place, not for beer ticks at all. Rating as for a beer place.“

“Visited as a tourist to Iceland for the first time.

Our visit here was on July 7, 2018.
We got on the ferry (preorder recommended) to visit this brewpub. Had checked with them before arriving, they had planned a staff party and was only open to 9 pm. We started with a flight of 4 of their own beers, then got the remaining 2 on tap as bigger pours. They also had one bottle of theirs available, which they didn't want to sell since it had gone off. We persuaded them to sell it anyhow, and indeed it had lots of butterscotch in it. Got one more beer each of our favs before heading to dinner. After dinner we rushed back to get yet one more beers of the favs before they closed for the staff party. Best place and best beers we encountered on our week long trip around the country. Highly recommended! I'd say it is worth the trip to the island with an overnight stay just to visit and have their beers. Also got a tour of the brewery when I asked, for free even. Of the 10 taps, 7 are theirs, one was out this day. The remaining 3 taps are different Viking beers. Also sell to very nearby restaurant Einsi Kaldi, which is pretty much how they started. Sell some of their beers to Reykjavik as well. If I go back to Iceland, I will make sure also to go back here!“

“Very nice, modern restaurant in a big open room, upstairs in an old building. It’s very much a restaurant, with focus on the food, but they also have an excellent selection of Icelandic bottled craft beer. It’s the best selection of Icelandic craft beer I saw anywhere in Iceland. No rarities, but they have a lot. The food is totally outstanding. We the second time we did the six-course menu, so we got each dish presented by the young chef, joy shining in his eyes. It’s a family restaurant, and the chef went to Reykjavik to study cooking, then came back to work here. My favourite beer place in Iceland.“
