“Feels like a posthumous review, as the bar is closing for a long time(hotel is going over renovations and won't open until the hotel does), hope to see this bar open exactly as it was.“

“Stopped in here after a wedding. Lively crowd - even more so after the wedding party arrived. Impressive beer selection - around 12 on tap , all but two I’ve never tried. Sampled a Great Lakes Nosferatu from their ’secret list’. Beers may have been pricey, but where else in NJ can you get such a unique and hard to find selection.“

“One of the best CRAFT BEER bars in New Jersey. The manager, Kevin Torpey, always has the best selection on hand and is always at the ready to replace a keg with something awesome. Great beer events such as Great Lakes, STONE, Founders, Brooklyn to name a few - Octoberbest, Summer Beer tastings - Kevin alwas has something fun in store for the craft beer lover. The food menu is on the way back with new management and some really great choices. The bartenders and staff are always friendly and knowledgable about the beers being served.“

“Nice craftbeer place in an unlikely location...a hotel bar! The food is good and it’s a very fun and lively place when there is live music. Although there are only 11 taps they change them often and keep them fresh. On top of that they do a very nice job of featuring local beers and unusual otherwise hard to find beers. Check this place out...worth a visit...and I’ve always meet nice people here...good mix of locals and people passing through being it’s a hotel.“

“Wow, I would never beleieve that one of the best bars to have a really good craft beer selection in all of Northern NJ would be located in the Somerset Hills Hotel. The bar is a cozy size(roughly 20 people seating at the bar) The room has nice table tops and leather sofas to realx and watch a game on the flat screen tv’s. The beer selection always rocks! They have a very nice rotation of the latest and greatest craft selections. About once a month they have a theme night. The last one we went to featured KBS!! The service is great, and they have outdoor seating as well. This is truely a hidden gem!!“

“Attended a wedding and was amazing surprised to see this great little bar in the middle of the hotel. Great selection, kinda pricey, but what can you do. Made my evening much improved.“

“My wife and I were staying at the Somerset Hills celebrating our anniversary and decided to stop down at the Tap Room for a few beers. Luckily for us they had 10 different Holiday beers on tap. Had a St. Bernardus and Corsendonk Christmas Ales, along with a SN Celebration and Anchor OSA. All the beers were in great shape and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. Met Kevin62 who was extremely hospitable and has done a great job building an impressive beer selection. Not sure I would recommend staying at the hotel, but I would definitely recommend stopping by the Tap Room.“

“I went the Tap Room on a recommendation from a fellow beer guy. Had to thank him the next day. A great beer bar, and full service bar from your unenlightened friends. So I started the way I always do and asked whats on tap. Answer was about 12 well varied beers. 2 lager/pils, 3 IPA’s, 3 Saisons (too many for me, but they had Sly Fox which is my favorite), and 3 varied other. After handing me the tap list she said they had 2 changes, and they had just tapped a St Bernardaus Christmas Ale. So I was set for the night, but had other options. The people I was with had everything from a Micheloeb Ultra (I know why not have a glass of water), Flying Fish Octoberfest, to the an IPA. The place itself is very comfortable not too loud, with big plush chairs, couches, as well as traditional bar and table seating. Just my kind of place. On the down side: Food was marginal. Not bad, just not particularly good. Beer and Food prices overall were a little pricey compared to the area. They are located in a hotel which impact the pricing some, and the beer servings were full 16 oz glasses.“

“I have been here for lunch once and at a christmas party at night once. The bar looked hopping for a Thursday night even if all the women were in their mid-30s. This is where i had my first, and best, orval. When I went for lunch it was dead, one waiter who knew little about beer and the food was overpriced and bland. The beer selection is very good regardless. I think if you stick to the bar during the evening you will have a better exeperience than lunch. I might swing by after work soon to give it another shot.“

“Unbelievable beer selection!! If you are a beer nut you will love this bar!! Fantastic food selection to accompany these brews. I can’t believe this place is located inside a hotel, a little pricey but you get what you pay for.“
