40 /100 RHS GARDEN
“Visited March 2023. Wisley is the most popular of the gardens of the Royal Horticultural Society, and deservedly so - it's a stunning and very interesting place. The shop is pretty much what you'd expect, a large venue filled with garden-related paraphernalia, and gifts designed to appeal to people who are buying gifts for gardeners. It's very busy and quite expensive and the service was at best brusque. In amongst all the gardening merchandise there are 20 odd beers from Dorking, Hepworth and Hogs Back, plus those silly name ones from Staffordshire. There's also the own brand cider mentioned by other reviewers. Apparently the Hilltop café within the grounds also has draft beer and cider, but I didn't find out about that until afterwards so can't comment on what they stocked. So to summarise... it's a garden venue, not a beer venue Definitely, definitely come here for the amazing gardens. But if you really can't do without a drink, then yes it has some potential rates. Note: my score is just for the shop itself from a beer point if view, and doesn't reflect how great the actual gardens are.“

“Not much to add. The beer range has now expanded from solely around 4 Hogs Back offerings to also include 3-4 beers from locals Decent. Bought a book on Just A Minute. Woop. On a side note, the food in the cafes within the gardens is OK. At one there are a couple of beers and the RHS cider available“

“This place is extremely popular but probably more for its location than its own attributes. Always packed and buzzing, local yummy mummies, etc, so the effect that has on the ambiance is probably left to the individual. They have Badger beers on as to be expected but this is really more of a restaurant. Staff are very attentive. However food has been hit and miss - possibly reflecting how busy it’s been. Nice enough but I wouldn’t choose to go there myself.“

“Only place to get the RHS’s own cider as far as I know. A handful of bottled beers too. Otherwise it’s a big gift shop selling stuff related matters gardening & peripheral.“

“This is not by any stretch of the imagination a beer destination – it’s the gift shop attached to the RHS garden at Wisley - but it’s worth noting as possibly the only place that sells the RHS’s own cider, which is made by Mr Whitehead’s from apples grown in the orchards at Wisley. They also stock a few Hogs Back bottles, notably (and appropriately) Gardeners Tipple, which was also brewed for the RHS. (Last visited 17 July 2013).“
