“I visited Urban Chestnut Friday 17th May 2019, I was in Wolznach, just mooching about so decided to drop by here. Urban Chestnut is just a little out of town. It is to the north west of the town, just off of Hopfenstraße off to the left shortly after the Penny supermarket. There is quite a bit of parking to the rear as they appear to share an area with a stables and a small park by the looks of things, however parking was free. There were a couple of groups sat outside eating, I was driving so didn't stay for a beer. There was however what appeared to be a brewery tour going on, the brewery is on the left hand side as you view this place from the rear. I asked a lady who was serving if I could buy some beers to take away, half expecting to be pointed towards a shop, but there was no shop and the lady just made up a four pack of assorted Urban Chestnut beers, two were the same as they only had three beers available. The food looked quite good, other than to venture inside to pay for the beers I didn't really get much of a look at this place, but they make decent beer in my opinion.“

“Visited during the hop harvest, not quite sure if Urban Chestnut had its foothold in the town yet. Walked from my hotel, smell of fresh hops just wafting through the air from all the farms around Wolnzach. Found the pub, behind the brewery, in a lively state. Groups finishing up their dinners and clapping to polka-ish accordion music. And drinking beer. The smell of the fresh Hopfenperle -- long-running name of the village beer, which like the brewery has changed owners and recipes over the years -- matching that on the harvest-time breeze. Was very hungry and went for one of those farmer-breakfast type Bavarian dished piled with fried potatoes, chopped bacon and a couple of fried eggs. Couldn’t finish it. Found room for another beer though.“

“Awesome beer and fine place. Friendly and cheap. The quality of the beers are out of this world. 5km from the highway between the Hallertau Hop fields. Awesome. Beware of limited opening hours.“

“A fine freshly established brewery (from 1999), works only with Hallertau aromahops. The Helles is a great surprise because of the unusual bitterness, and everybody in the brewery are proud what they do, and want to keep the company alive.“

“Brewery and restaurant in Wolnzach, in the heart of the Hallertau, the biggest hop-growing region in the world. The brewerie brews 3 regular beers and also seasonals. Dureing the time of my visit the seasonal beer was Aktionator Doppelbock. The brewery has a little shop where you can buy their bottled beers, glasses and other souvenirs. There is a restaurant and beer garden next to a duck pond on site. The restaurant offers Bavarian dishes, well-prepared and high quality. I was very happy with the service, the food and the beer. A great place!“
