“A tourist attraction of course, to show off this hops producing region, but it was informative and fun. It's in a park at the edge of the town center, and the first thing I noticed were a series of placards that describe the history and evolution of hop growing here; there is a life-sized stange and a statue to a poleman. In the center of this is the fountain that consists of six taps of Slovenian beers, each showing off different hops; a one deciliter pour from each is now 10 Euro. I wish I had the option of returning the glass. They were doing maintenance on the elevator that brings kegs to an underground cooler, and when. they were done they turned on the actual fountain - with real water, not beer. Unique, and a fun thing to do.“

“A nice place in the old town of Žalec, with the terrace right on the main street and just metres away from teh beer fountain. A decent choice of foreign beers, though mostly the more known English, Belgian and German brands. But also a nice selection of domestic breweries. A decent place to sip a few and definitely one of the best ones in the wider area.“

“Well, it’s not an actual fountain but rather a series of beer taps in the middle of the wark right in the centre of Žalec. You have to buy a special beer mug with the chip inside and then you can use it on the taps. Each mug is valid for 0,5l of beer, meaning five pours of 1dl, be it of the same or different beers. A bit pricey with 8€, but you can keep the mug after you’re done tasting. Six taps of microbrews available with all the beers made with local grown hops. Not for everyday visit, but more of a touristy place.“
