54 /100 The Barley Mow (Bar) 32 BATHWICK STREET Victorian era pub on the road eastwards out of Bath, a bit shabby looking and that continues inside, down-at-heel and unloved, or Bohemian, depending upon on your viewpoint! Bar is to the side, beyond a small lounge with a log burner and (scruffy) sofas, tables and chairs arranged about. 4 handpulls offering 2 beers (Abbey Bellringer and Otter) and 2 ciders (Bristol), there's a pool table towards the rear and another seating area beyond. Nice enough, just a little worn and feels like a pub from the nineties |
70 /100 Pulteney Arms (Bar) 37 DANIEL STREET Nice little back-street corner pub to the east of the city, across the bridge and just a little bit hidden. Five handpulls offering local(ish) beers from BBF, Otter & Wye Valley and also TT Landlord. Chilled atmosphere (rugby was going on down the road, imagine it gets a little rowdy after that), passive pub dog and nice welcoming staff. |
62 /100 Pulteney Arms (Bar) 37 DANIEL STREET Rugby pub in the Bathwick area of town. You can make a decent crawl up there if you include the Barley, the one across the street from the Barley and pop over the bridge to the King William or the Bell. This place is a fairly typical corner pub with Young’s Bitter, Landlord and some rotating offerings. Food in the evening. The beer isn’t always on good form, though, so get a taster before buying. |
