68 /100 WINCHESTER FARM, DRAYCOTT ROAD
“Called by on a Saturday late afternoon. Brewery is within a small industrial area, just outside Cheddar town centre. Wooden benches lined up outside with a wood-fired pizza trailor serving thin pizzas. You enter to a small seating area and the bar on the left, with further tables and brewing area beyond, though all taken up by a birthday group. Queue for the bar effectively forms as soon as you enter. Around 6 or 7 of their own cask and 4 keg, with some guest cider and crap ABK lager. Nice atmosphere with the sun shining bright outside, I got a flight of 3, one of which was undrinkable with a savagely harsh, bitter brewing fault, the other two were ok, very much a trad brewing approach.“

56 /100 DRAYCOTT ROAD
“On the road south-east out of Cheddar, this is more of a shack than a barn and it's just in front of some holiday homes, but there's not a lot else around apart from its car park. A music venue of sorts, I visited in the daytime when things were a bit lower-key, but the nice weather had attracted a number of people and there's a fair amount of outdoor seats, albeit most next to the main road. Primarily a cider house, it has a few macro brews and ciders complimenting up to five cider boxes from the region. They serve simple filling food and have quite a characterful bloke behind the bar.“
