78 /100 Alton Bridge Hotel (Bar) STATION ROAD Refurbished country pub with a massive beer garden running down to the river Churnet. We chose Beartown Kodiak Gold and Peakstone Rock Chained Oak from the beers avaiable and they were fine. |
70 /100 Royal Oak (Bar) HORSE ROAD Rather more plush on the inside than the outside. Parking can be a little tight so would be fun in summer. 4 ales on, 2 being local. My favourite pub in Alton so far, 2 more to visit though. |
54 /100 Blacksmiths Arms (Bar) TYTHE BARN More of a food pub aimed at Alton Towers visitors. One beer from Peakstones Rock on my visit which was in good order. There was another Peakstones Rock pump clip turned round. |
66 /100 Alton Bridge Hotel (Bar) STATION ROAD Modern hotel bar / restaurant. Pleasant surroundings very close to Alton Towers. 3 hand pulls on my visit 2 with local beers and the other with Doom Bar. |
58 /100 Bulls Head (Bar) HIGH STREET L-shaped bar in the village of Alton. Beautifully quiet on a winter’s evening but it will be busy with tourists in the summer. 3 hand pulls from nationals so nothing new to tick. Beer was in good order and handy for Alton Towers if you’re in the area. |
