“One of the last buildings heading south out of the town, and it's right up against the road with its entrance on its narrow side facing north. The buildings unusual shape kind of defines the main room, which grows bigger the further back it goes. Despite being open plan and having high ceilings its ground floor space seems limited as they've packed it full of tables, so there's little room for manoeuvre. There is a beer garden at the rear for better space if the weather allows. Two of Earl Soham ales were available and a guest from a Norfolk microbrewer when I visited.“

“Visited on a drive towards a ferry, very much an old locals feeling place, quite a bit of character and their own beers are pretty good.“

“This is a truly lovely place. Well kept and very well stocked. Delicious local beers along with everything else you could desire. The food is simply sublime and the selection is perfectly sized and ever changing (if a little pricey). The Earl Soham beers are divine. Visit this lovely pub and its lovely, if a little backward, town.“
