64 /100 NEAR COW HILL GATE LANE, KEIGHLEY ROAD
“Unmissable on the main road between Halifax and Keighley, this pub is a large building at a right-angle to the A629 Keighley Road with its own small road into the ample car park. Inside it is an open plan affair but most of the ground floor space is utilised so its fairly big, however it’s also a popular place so there’s always the possibility it will be full at peak food times. Given the lack of houses around this area most people do drive here and eating is usually high on the agenda for them. Children are catered for and there is a fenced play area with climbing areas and slides in front of the circular picnic tables that are only separated from the pub by a part of the car park. Dogs are not allowed here, probably to help maintain the carpets and cosy soft furnishings that create a fine pub ambiance enhanced by the low ceilings and low lighting. There are a couple of ale pumps but lager dominates the choice. Food is a little expensive but filling.“
