74 /100 HOME MILL COTTAGES, W SLAITHWAITE ROAD
“Visited on a bank holiday Monday while on holiday in the area. Plenty of seating inside and out, a small car park in front. It is situated on the banks of the river / canal, and the tow path leads to either Marsden (West) or Slaithwaite (East). They had 6 of their own beers on when I visited, and 2 had sold out on this busy bank holiday Monday. They appear to have a regular and rotating food truck on site, but didn’t try the food.“

“Next to the river and bridge on the main street in the small Pennine town of Marsden, this is a twin floored corner pub, traditional in design with a heavy wooden bias throughout. Food is served here and it's better to head upstairs as the chairs and tables are a little more suitable for dining. Downstairs the small round tables are more suitable for a drinking session and the choice will be overwhelmingly from the Ossett group of brewers. Given the pubs name, Riverhead ales dominate, with 4 regulars and a guest brewed on site. Rat Brewery and the Original Ossett brewery also had ales here, with a couple of guest kegs and guest ciders in boxes also present on my visit.“

“Visited with JFE on The ale trail 19.01.18. Nice pub on two floors, relieved from background music. Nice phitigraphic art is linging the walls. Several hand punps. Food upstairs.“

“Visited here on the 22nd April 2011. Was staying at The Coach House, Marsden (Marsden Moor 2 miles out of village on A62) This pub was quite busy not surprising really considering it’s location in the centre of the village and because it was such a wonderful day. Had at least 5-6 Riverhead beers on which were all fine but not that exciting and also had Osset, Empire, London Pride amongst others. It was fine, staff were very friendly and beer was well priced however it was looking just a little tired and dare I say a bit scruffy.“
