“What an absolute gem! Visited this unspoilt two-roomed backstreet local two years running during short stays in Worcester. Both the public bar and saloon afford warmth and cosy atmospheres, with textiles absorbing the buzz of conversations. There is no music played except on occasional advertised live sessions. You’ll find a delightful range of six local or regional breweries’ beers in fine condition. Food wise there are filled rolls available on the bar. This pub is well-run, friendly and welcoming. If you’re only visiting one pub in Worcester, make it the Plough.“

“This is a long, narrow bar close to the Foregate Street Station in Worcester. It's a Sommar Bar but on our visit there was a Verdant Brewery Tap takeover. The bar is on the right as you walk through, it's a bit basic in there but standing at the bar is good. Not sure I would go in every trip to Worcester but it's worth a look.“

“This is a newly opened multi storied pub opposite the one remaining Wetherspoons on the pedestrianised Broad Street. It is a Georgian building and the new owners have made great efforts in fitting it out in the original style. The bar is in front of you when you enter, 3 hand pumps with 2 local beers and their own beer produced by Flack's on the centre pump. They have a bank of around 6 easy to find national keg beers. The front bar area is small, but there is more seating to the rear and in the Georgian sitting room upstairs. Well worth a look while in Worcester.“

“Visited on 1st April 2023 during an early-evening crawl. A busy pub with a business-like bar and friendly clientele. Very traditional furnishing and a terrazzo floor that's most likely listed. I enjoyed a pint of Brew 61 at the bar, and might have stopped longer had my crawl list been shorter! Worth a visit.“

“I can absolutely see why people like this place. It's absolute characterful.. Beer was decent and from small breweries so most were new (6 pumps) surprisingly do 1/3 2/3 and pints no halves Very pleasant visit“

“We went in here for their own ticks and we got both a lager and a cider labeled as theirs. The cider was pretty good, while the lager was ordinary. In addition they had a cask on from Hartlebury, which was a nice surprise. The place itself is mediocre compared to other places in Worcester, so no reason to go in here unless you want the brewery tick.“

“As the name suggests this is a craft beer bar featuring Sommar beers. I had not had anything from them before, but we had a forgettable fruity sour and a great black IPA from them on keg. In addition we found a really good Nothing Bound hazy IPA in one of the fridges and a Staggeringly Good porter on keg. Worth a visit if you're pub crawling through Worcester.“

“Modern bar with lots of craft beer. It was busy on an early Friday evening and had a great atmosphere and friendly staff. We got a brilliant cider from Iford and a great hazy pale from Nothing Bound. It would be a great place for a Friday out if you were just looking for a good time and not always the next new beer.“

“Busy pub on a late Friday afternoon, but there is additional seating upstairs, so we were able to get a table anyway. We picked up three of their own Church End cask beers and a local cider all in good condition. There were more ticks available, but we opted for just the one round since we were doing a pub crawl of Worcester. One of the better places in Worcester.“

“Visited 10/3/2023. Not so much of a beer range but at least they had one of their own on, and it was early evening so no vibe yet but I do think the place had a lot of potential to be good fun. Just not a tickers paradise. Especially not Danish tickers.“

“Visited on 31st March 2023. An unexpected good find for Belgian beer in the centre of Worcester. A vibrant, yet chilled atmosphere in this most welcoming of venues. A three-figure beer range, with plenty of draught choices as well as bottles. Card only, but if you have the exact amount cash may be accepted on discretion. Easy to find, difficult to leave.“

“Located in a railway arch, alongside other small businesses and eateries. Now re-branded Arch Rivals Brewing Company. Dragged my other half on a detour to check it out and didn't stay long as it appears they neither own any brewing equipment nor brew beer, but seem to re-badge other breweries beers and ciders as their own. Bit naughty that. A smattering of Deya and Floc style breweries, but was put off by their approach and the feel of the place. Probably won't return.“

“Situated right in the centre of Worcester. Didn't quite expect it to be so small and cosy, a handful of booth seats and tables along one side, some tables optimistically put outside but the weather prevented anyone using them. Six taps and a few upright fridges. No cider. Good range of stuff, some 75cl bottles. Only negative was the toilet which to access you had to exit the building, go outside and head into the pizza place next door, go up two flights of stairs and along a corridor. Worth a stop, but seats could be difficult to find during busy periods.“

“We had three new cask beers, which is not bad, and this place was alright except for the beer quality, which wasn’t the best. That included their one own beer on at our visit. Go here for a Worcestershire tick but not for beer quality.“

“Extremely convenient for the station. Long narrow shopfront sort of place with a small serving bar and some bar tables. Mainly Sommar beers and some guests, plus two coolers with bottles and cans. Flights of four (yes, four!) thirds available. Decent selection overall, and worth a look.“

“As you enter you can see the brewhouse straight ahead. Turn left into the bar/taproom, which had a bit of a clubby vibe to it. Long serving bar with lots of neon. Just one house beer on offer and it needs work imho. Handful of guests. Interesting place, but the beer needs to improve before it's worth returning.“

“Doesn't open until 4pm on a Friday, so had to hang around a little. It's worth it though, it's a decent sized room with benches throughout. There are 3 cask beers on with one being a Sociable Beer Co beer on my visit, also 6 keg beers. Friendly and sociable. Worth visiting when open.“

“The opening times are a little all over the place here, couldn't get in until 3pm after a long lunchtime session. It's close to the Railway Station, so pretty handy in that regard. It's long and narrow(ish) inside, with the bar half way down. It's a pleasant, friendly atmosphere in here, clean and tidy. I think it could be a regular on my Worcester tour.“

“Right across the street from Foregate Street rail station, the Craft Inn is, like its namesakes scattered across the West Midlands, a Sommar bar. We just had a (bigger) Sommar taproom open in Leicester, but I’ll do my best not to rely on comparisons and judge this place on its own merit. It’s one (long) room with the bar to the back, so the first thing you’re confronted with is the excellent bottle/can fridge (no prices though). The 15 taps are all proper craft, with both Sommar and Asvex (from the chain’s recent tap takeovers) represented. Heavy on the pales, but that’s not the end of the world. I do like this place.“

“Worcester certainly isn’t short of craft beer outlets. Even this bar which seems to advertise itself as a cocktail bar has 8 proper craft beer taps and some cans behind the bar. They certainly tend toward hoppy pales, but have more variety when it comes to breweries: the likes of Anspach & Hobday, Elusive, Brew York, Odyssey and the local Gander are represented. The atmosphere is calming, with a cafe feel and smooth jazzy pop playing in the background. Short of a destination but its proximity to other decent bars (and zForegate Street Station) mean you can certainly check this place out if your in town (provided the later opening on most days works for you).“

“This was the last stop of a long day for me, so it took a lot for me to be impressed. But impressed I was. The interior seems dark and almost clubby with loud music over the PA. The beer however is well worth it with about eight keg complementing the couple of cask. You'll get the best of UK craft here (Cloudwater, Verdant, Yonder). There were quite a few beers that I'd never seen anywhere else. Too tired to try them all tonight but well worth coming back to. Easily one of the better places in the city.“

“Every West Midlands town or city (and some outside the WM boundaries) needs at least one kick-ass Black Country pub, and this is Worcester's. It's very clean and friendly although the lack of custom on a Thursday night is a surprise. Beer choice is a bit dull: I opted for the cask version of M&B XI because why the hell not. (Spoiler alert: it's not a bad beer.) Iron Maiden playing in the background makes me love this place even more. Not the best in the chain but probably in my top 5.“

“I've been out to a few pubs in Worcester, and the Dragon Inn is the only one close to full on a Thursday night. And you can see why. 8 cask beers (6 from Church End) are complemented by a couple of interesting keg: I've plumped for an Oktoberfest from Newcastle brewery Full Circle. People here know their beer and love their beer. One not to miss.“

“Modern beer bar near the train station. Dark and slightly ominous but ever so friendly. I have to admit that I didn't jotuce any of their own beers, but the offerings would've been the envy of most beer pubs: 3 cask including two from Ledbury, with about 10 cask from the UK great and the good. I was winding down so went for a session beer from DEYA, which was gorgeous. They keep quite singular hours (only on the weekends for the summer and only this week added Thursdays) so best to check ahead. Certainly worth planning to check out.“

“Neat little place not very far from the Foregate station. It's an interesting two-room pub, one more suited for diners. I opted for the more lively 'drinky' room, with plants around the room. The beer selection is a bit lacking with a few cask and some readily available keg. I had an Italian lager which was new to me so that's fine. Overall its a pleasant, atmospheric and friendly pub. I'd recommend if in the vicinity, provided you don't mind a relative dearth of ticks.“

“Preserved (and renovated) medieval building southwest of the centre (I feel like I'm in a village church rectory with booze). They have five cask beers from the West Midlands and beyond (two from Bucks' XT on my visit). The cider/perry list is longer, and certainly more impressive. Note that a half is significantly more than half the price of a pint (doesn't bother me much but I understand people who are annoyed by this). A bit of a weird place, and I wasn't tempted to linger, but certainly a good place to try some drinks you may not have ticked.“

“Decent little micropub near Foregate station. There's a decent smattering of keg plus two of 'their' beers (brewed by Hartlebury). Amazing can selection behind the bar but I didn't get that far. Really friendly and a comfortable place to have a couple of drinks. Plus they're playing KISS and any pub that plays KISS is automatically awesome. A tiny bit underrated in here in my opinion.“

“Lovely old fashioned pub which specialises in beer and cider. Low ceilings, wooden floors, just lively. As is the beer choice, with about 10 beers and 5 ciders on cask and keg. Tasters available - which I should've gone for as my beer was past its best, sullying the experience a bit. Worth checking out as this may have been a one-off, but approach with caution. Expensive for the area.“

“Olde-worlde hotel pub, labyrinthine with a front bar and a couple of side areas with 6 bedrooms upstairs. The beer list isn't amazing but isn't bad either: Four cask, a few interesting keg (lots of Purity I've not tried), a couple of ciders and Maisels Weisse. Friendly and worth checking out, although there likely won't be loads of beers you've not had so if in a rush this can be missed.“

“Nice little brewpub just off a side street and next to the TripelB Belgian Cafe (q.v.), the Oil Basin is actually home to Wintrip Brewery. It’s a bit dark inside, and the music is unnecessarily loud, so I had trouble hearing and seeing even though it was quiet. On my visit they only had one of their beers on, as one of the four casks… looks like that’s not unusual at it’s the only Wintrip beer on RB (& there’s only 7 on Untappd). Choice is augmented by the big bottle/can fridges behind the bar, offering UK and international craft options. Very cheap.“

“It’s quite small overall but as an establishment TripelB packs quite a punch. It certainly does replicate the European beer cafe, and the Belgian-only beer menu is worth perusing. There isn’t a massive amount that you can’t get elsewhere, and they don’t have the volume of, say, London’s Dovetail, but there are some special beers here (Chouffe 40 and Pannepot Grand Reserve on draught) as well as many standards. Prices are reasonable for this day and age. Recommended wholeheartedly.“

“Very old-fashioned two-room pub just off a main shopping street in Worcester. It does feel like stepping back in time: there’s a slightly musty, not unpleasant but almost old-bookshop smell as you come in. Indeed there’s some interesting reading material including a few older Wisden’s almanacs in the room to the left. The beer selection is less old-fashioned, with some interesting choices on keg (some well-known Germans but a Belgian that was new to me) alongside five four decent cask choices from the Midlands and beyond (including 3 Mighty Oak, which is as far north as I’ve seen them). Cider also available on cask and keg, so fans of RateCider might want to pay a visit. I’ve only been here for a few minutes and I can’t imagine a Worcester crawl without it.“

“Tidy little taproom tucked away in Worcester's shopping district. 6 taps (Budvar plus the likes of Glasshouse, Pomina Island, Deya and Track) with three big bottle/can fridges full of very reasonably priced goodies (UK and the Continent) to drink in or take away. Comfortable and friendly. Affiliated pizza place next door, and you can bring their pizza in. Worcester is full of decent places, but this one is certainly worth checking out.“

“We visited here Thursday 7th October after a pleasant mini hike from Kempsey along the Severn. TripelB is located on Copenhagen street, which is a street off of the main shopping street, so it is very central and also very close to Hop Lords and the Plough two other fantastic drinking establishments in Worcester. I have been wanting to visit this place for a couple of years, it started up after we moved from the UK to Germany and of course, COVID-19 restrictions have made visiting difficult until now. I have to say that I love this place, it is simply one of the very best Belgian style cafes outside of Belgium and that includes the Netherlands, I have probably visited 200-300 across the Benelux region in the last 25-30 years so hopefully feel that I am well qualified to make such a statement. I like the layout, the bar is on the left as you enter, there is plenty of seating both inside and outside and the place looks super authentic with plenty of Belgian breweriana (I think that is the correct term?). It is table service and the staff, we spoke with both the owner and another guy were super professional, in terms of recommendations, serving and general discussion. We stayed here for 2-3 hours I think so I guess that you can tell we really liked it here. The beer selection is very well chosen and the pricing very reasonable, I loved the fact the tricky to get beers from the likes of Struisse and a De Garre house Tripel were available. I lived in Worcester in the late eighties/early nineties, I so wish that somewhere like this would have been around back then. I think that the cafe/bar/pub scene is pretty healthy in Worcester and a place like this has only strengthened that, it is a great place that I will return to again and again when visiting my mum and Keith in the UK.“

“This proved to be an open, light, friendly beer cafe just off the Deansway. Visited on the Thursday afternoon following the relaxation of lock down and pubs re-opening, so a sign in was required and table service only. The pub is dedicated to Belgian beers, which is fine by me, I would have liked to have lingered but time was tight on the day. The owner loves to chat about the beers, having a good knowledge about them. There is a pleasant atmosphere, even on a quiet lunch time. Certainly a place to revisit next time in town.“

“Visited 10/2/2020. Another top traditional Worcester pub. 9 cask, 3 from Black Country and 6 guest. Nice and warm with a lovely real fire. Heritage style central bar. Lots of organised activities. Very chatty friendly landlady. Dart board, bit of music. Definitely a place to visit when in Worcester. “Visited 10/2/2020. First came to this place in my pre-RB days when I visited every county over a 12 month period and this was my Worcestershire tick. Walking in I remembered it well, it’s not changed a bit. Attractive place inside, small wood framed bar with a nice local county selection. Run by very friendly people. Popular with people from the local beer scene. One of the very top places in Worcester.“
