“We visited Brauerei-Ausschank Schnitzlbaumer Saturday 2nd July 2022, this was the final stop off on a 52km Waging am See Traunstein 5 brewery tour loop, it has to be said that tackling five breweries in one day was a tad ambitious :-) Btw there is a map that details this and other cycle tours around the Chiemgau area. This was another short walk from the previous brewery, I wonder now whether it would have been better to tackle this ride in reverse which would have then seen the last two offering a much longer break between beer stops.Brauerei-Ausschank Schnitzlbaumer is very central and I guess that it sort of sits behind Hofbrauhaus Traunstein, as it is on the street behind that place. Inside the brewery forms part of the furniture and looks great off to the side, the ceilings in here are very high and there is a good amount of seating. We sat outside on the terrace which offered up some lovely views but at this time of the day, I guess that it was facing the strong direction for sunseekers. There is a lift from the lower part of town that will bring you up here. The beers had a more crafty feel here than most of the other places today with bottles also being offered and the hoppiness being a key driver. We liked it here, it would be nice to visit in the cooler months and sit inside. Prices were good, staff and service great, we liked it here.“

“We visited Wochinger Brauhaus and Biergarten Saturday 2nd July 2022, this was the penultimate stop off on a 52km Waging am See Traunstein 5 brewery tour loop *There is a map that details this and other cycle tours around the Chiemgau area. This and the final brewery stop were the least demanding and certainly easiest legs of the Beer our being as they were less than 800-1km walk. However, Wochinger is still relatively central. The brewery seemed bigger than I expected, on here it is listed as a brewpub, whereas it is in fact a brewery and not so small at that. The brewery and Getrankemarkt are at the rear, then there is a restaurant and a lovely Biergarten, best of the day in fact out the front. The beers were good, the choice was not huge but perhaps 3-4 to choose from. It seemed popular with all ages and types, there was a play area for children as I recall and it was nicely set out, not so typical in terms of what you expect, i.e.rows and rows of long benches, this was more individual tables but still quite a number, plenty of shade, it was a really nice Biergarten. I walked inside to make use of the toilet, again it was similar to many of these places, with plenty of wood, and quite a spacious layout however only a ground level and then a cellar I believe. The staff were great, the service was very swift, possibly my favourite of the Traunstein places, though the last place was also very nice.“

“We visited here Saturday 2nd July 2022, this was the third stop off on a 52km Waging am See Traunstein 5 brewery tour loop *There is a map that details this and other cycle tours around Chiemgau area. We cycled from Teisendorf and this was perhaps the longest cycle section, with a long slog uphill shortly after Teisendorf just past Spock. Hofbräuhaus Traunstein is located in the square in town, so very central. There was seating out on the main square, we sat here, and again this is another building much like the two previous breweries that appears to have played a big part in the town for many years, a big building with a yellow facade. There was a lot of seating out here and on such a warm day, many people were taking advantage of the outdoor seating area, so much so that we had to wait a little while as the waitresses were very busy, however, this wasn't a problem. There were quite a few people eating here, we didn't as we'd just eaten at the previous place but the food looked good. I had the Helles, Loz had the Hefe Weisse both were pretty good and very refreshing and much needed after that last cycling section. I should like to come here again and maybe take a good look inside next time. “

“Die Brauerei-Ausschank Schnitzlbaumer liegt praktisch direkt im Zentrum von Traunstein. Mit direkten Parkplätzen wird es dadurch logischereise schwierig, aber in einer Entfernung von 5 Gehminuten gibt es einen großen Parkplatz (€ 0,10 pro 10 Minuten), der jedoch sehr gut gefüllt ist. Wir haben ein ziemlich leeres, aber schönes Lokal betreten. Das Ambiente mit der Brauanlage im Lokalbereich wirkt ganz interessant und vor allem auch authentisch, da während unseres Besuchs, eine Reinigung der Anlage durchgeführt wurde. Das hatte mitunter sogar ein wenig Unterhaltungswert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und unglaublich nett. Aufgrund der geringen Besucheranzahl konnte man auch ein etwas ausführlicheres Gespräch mit der Servicekraft führen. Die Auswahl der Biere beschränkt sich auf ein kleineres und vor allem gängiges Sortiment der Brauerei. Ich persönlich habe ein sogenanntes "Probierl" zu meiner Mahlzeit gewählt. Vier Sorten Bier zu je 0,1l. Dieses Verkostungspaket enthielt ein Helles, ein Zwickel, ein Weizen und ein Dunkles, wobei in einigen Gläsern wesentlich mehr als 0,1l gefüllt war. Die Speisen waren sehr gut und vor allem sehr üppig! Einzig: das Blaukraut im Pfandl für 2 Personen war ziemlich überwürzt - vor allem was die Zugabe von Wacholderbeeren betrifft. Die Preise erachte ich als sehr gut und überaus fair. Ich würde sofort wieder hingehen.“

“Thanks PivniZub for adding this place to Ratebeer. Huge variety of what this southern region has to offer, Went away with 40/50 new beers (at this point ive tasted 3000 different German beers) The guys in charge of the store was more than helpfull and chatty in a way Ive never experienced in any other Getranktmarkt. They even offered to carry my beers to the car :-) If in the area going out of Bavaria - a good place to swing buy!“

“Big drinks market on the edge of Traunstein in an industrial estate close to the municipal clinical centre; good selection of the Traunstein breweries (Wochinger, Schnitzlbaumer, Hofbräu Traunstein) plus many bottles from smaller breweries in the surroundings (Schalchener, Steiner, Wieninger, Baumburger and so on...). Absolutely worth a visit when You are busy and You do not want to visit all breweries!“

“Another very nice place to enjoy good beer in Traunstein. Large biergarten surrounded by trees (wild chesnut I think, but not entirely sure). Again, rain stopped us from sitting outside, but the inside was good replacement too. Dried hops are hanging from the walls and ceiling and also there’s a lot of old brewing equipment. There was around 20 guests but still the service was fast. Better than Ausschank Schnitzlbaumer. Highly recomended.“

“It’s located just in centre of the town so you might have some problems with parking. It has two floors with large bar in the lobby and has the view over big copper kettles. Whole brewpub is made from brick and wood which makes atmosphere more enjoyable. Unfortunately when we were there (Friday afternoon) most of the pub was closed because of preparations for some concert or dance. Good food and beer, service a bit too slow. All in all nice place, recomended. “

“It´s a big plase in the center of Traunstein, looks fancy but beautyfull. There was 5 beers on tap, and some on bottle. I had there Bock bier from a bottle when I was there and it was not the best bock I have ever had, but the plase is kind of nice.“
