60 /100 WALTHER-RATHENAU-STRASSE 9-10 Staying here for two nights (6-7 Aug 2018). Impressive set up, lovely grounds and buildings, a real moated Burg in fact. Sadly it is not supported by the locals, or that's how it seems. Monday night saw no one come and take away beers and the only people eating or drinking were staying in the place like us. The price for their beer is a bit heavy for this part of Germany, but drinking it in the lovely courtyard made up for it in my eyes. Three beers on tap during our time here, all decent. Our food was wonderful too. |
72 /100 WALTHER-RATHENAU-STRASSE 9-10 Real cool place. It’s inside old mansion/castle that is quite picturesque and beautifully located. Inside you can get 3 nice brews (my top choice for this place is double bock that comes at impressive 10@20 - but despite this killer strength it’s very much drinkable & enjoyable). Definetly worth detour if you are in the area. |
92 /100 WALTHER-RATHENAU-STRASSE 9-10 On a back street of this unassuming village is an old castle surrounded by a moat that has been converted to a hotel/restaurant/brewery - very cool and beautiful surroundings. We were there pretty early for lunch so had the place to ourselves except for a few growler patrons. Very nice interior - not too huge but well decorated. Regional food - everything we had was excellent. This place is a real jewel - a must stop if you’re in the area. |
