“Decent spot, but way overrated. 20 taps, a beer engine, and several ciders and meads. A dozen or so bottles. Good beer selection, but nothing really that much out of the ordinary, at least on this day. Kind of feels like a dive bar or maybe a strip club. Without the dancers.“

“This cozy bar will cater to all your craft beer tastes. Their selection is top-notch and always rotating; you will be impressed with the bold styles and strong selections. The prices are fair for great beer. If you don’t know what you want, the staff will not be smug towards you. They are friendly and knowledgeable and will guide you to a choice. Although I’m not sure if they do this on their busy nights, they do offer flights for you to sample a number of their beers. They do not serve food, but you can order food from the nearby take-out places and eat it there. While the bar is small and dark, it offers a good atmosphere for enjoying your beer(s). The mural art covering all 4 walls showcases popular "geeky" historical figures, movie characters, and cartoons all enjoying a tasty brew. The bathrooms have fun posters too. Overall, if you are a craft beer drinker, put this on your list of destinations to visit.“

“Aside from 3F and Crown Brewing this is the only place in NWI to find quality brews on tap. Always a really good rotation, couple of TV’s if a game is on, cool murals and really good service. It’s a bar, so no food, just craft brews.“

“I really enjoy hitting up Bone Dry when I’m in the Highland/Griffith area. They have a decent selection of craft beer on tap, typically priced decently. I have had food here before and it was just a little better than average bar food. Bartenders, regardless of shift are great, friendly people. The scene is mostly bikers but they’ll leave you alone as long as you don’t say something to annoy them. Some hippies? I don’t know about all that, but okay. Typically blue collar workers getting off and having a few pitchers with friends or with the regulars. They have a pool table, boxing machine game, and video poker. One of the few places I feel comfortable going to alone in the area. Great for groups as they have booths and tables. Overall best bar in the area for relaxation after work and small talk with the locals.“

“Good selection and best FFFs selection I saw beside brewery. They had the least selection of singles and with space limitations I couldn’t buy a bunch of sixers.“

“Great place. I was able to try a bottle of King Henry here. There are not many places out there where you can say that. Friendly staff that knows their stuff. Has about 20 rotating handles with an above average selection. A great local place to stop. Make sure to pop in if you are taking a trip to Three Floyds.“

“So far the draft list has been most excellent and they keep their list updated on the website. Has a basement look and feel to it, friendly staff. It’s nice to have some place out this way in the burbs besides FFF and Flossmoor Station, one that has a great craft beer selection. NO SMOKING, woohoo!“

“Brother-in-law was trying to visit FFF (which wasn’t open that early in the day and doesn’t distribute to MD--yet). Came to Liquor Stop, called and put me on speaker-phone to cross-check beers with RateBeer. Anyway, owner was extremely helpful and we got into a long-distance, 3-person discussion of beer. He made some additional suggestions (of Great Divide brews--also not distributed in MD) which were spot-on with RB reviews. If this is the type of service you can expect from Liquor Stop, it’s definitely my kind of place. Great customer service!“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon in September, this small store was not very busy and had a fair selection for its location. We picked up some 3 Floyds that we hadn’t seen elsewhere, and there were various other nice packs that we left behind. Person behind the counter at the front stayed there and rang through our purchases, friendly enough. There are some fridges at the back full of cases but most of the beer is on shelves, in big bottles and six-packs. Glad we stopped in, wish they offered mix-packs though.“

“Pros: They had 3F that we had not seen elsewhere. Couple of other cool finds but thats about it. The selection is decent but if you are not looking to buy whole six packs it cuts the selection but a LOT. Prices seemed average to high depending. Cons: No splitting six packs. Store itself is kind of ghetto, but whatever. Staff was okay. Worth the stop for the 3F that we could not get at the brewery alone, but we bought a lot more at Binny’s in Chicago.“

“This place is definitely one of the best liquor stores in NW Indiana, if micro brew and craft beer is your thing. And considering I live about 15 minutes away from this place...I am truly blessed! :) Oh, to the ones complaining that it’s closed on Sundays: IT’S INDIANA LAW!“

“Stopped in today pick up some Stone IPA. Only one guy working who I assume was the owner and her was very nice. Nice micro section with Stone, Thirsty Dog, Dark Horse and Three Floyds standing out. Nothing rare but did have some nice brews that aren’t available in Illinois. They did have Ølfabrikken Porter which I did not expect to find. There 3F prices were much lower then Binny’s in Illinois which probably has to do with the fact that they are a 10 minutes from the brewery. Will be back to stock up on Stone and other brews not available in Illinois“

“Nice selection of Indiana micros, six pack and bombers. Belgian selection is decent. Build you own sixer in the front of the store has some offerings, but nothing great. It would have been nice to take home a mixed six of the Indiana stuff, but it wasn’t offered. Prices were high, I left empty handed. I much preferred Torrance liquors down the road. Service was ok and the store was clean.“

“Good selection of Indiana micros here. Decent big bottle selection including a few Bluegrass 750’s. Import selection will get you by, but nothing exotic. Won’t break six packs, which is a fundamental flaw that separates all the wanna be’s from the real beer stores.“

“Always a decent to nice selection of micros and imports. They always have everything bottled from FFF as well as a large offering from Bell’s, DFH, Stone, Dark Horse as well as some nice beer from Belgium and Germany. Prices generally run on the high side, but you may get a freebee or two if you spend enough. If you are a local, this is probably your goto shop. If you are from out of town and visiting FFF, it is worth a stop.“

“Absolutely have to rate this one top notch just because its the absolute closest liquor store that carries my beloved Stone products...as well as other numerous wisconsin, indiana, ohio, etc. brews. They are higher priced, definitely, but what can I do...I live in Illinois and want beers I cannot get here yet. The selection is very good, the service is good, friendly, and its right off the highway.“

“I am a big fan of this place. Living in Chicago it has a lot of the beers I don’t have access to (Bell’s, Stone, etc.) The prices are a little on the high side, but what are you going to do. If you buy a lot of beer or the guy recognizes you, usually he will throw in a couple of bottles...10 for service! Very knowledgeable as well. I usually hit up this place whenever I go to FFF.“

“I drove down from Milwaukee to visit Three Floyds and Flossmoor, and stopped by The Liquor Stop because of its proximity to FFF. I was pleasantly surprised... Stone’s not in Wisconsin yet, so I bought one of everything they had there (which was a great selection, including: Ruination, Oaked Arrogant Bastard, Smoked Porter, etc.), and picked up a few six packs and bombers from other brewers that aren’t available in Wisconsin, like Thirsty Dog and Hoppin’ Frog. Then, because I had bought quite a bit, the owner threw in a free Mishawaka Hop Head single for me (that’s why service gets a 9). Singles selection is almost non-existent, but could be unbelievable if they broke down all their six packs, but since I was passing through, I didn’t mind splurging a bit and getting full sixers. Anyway, excellent place overall, definitely stop in if your anywhere near FFF, especially if you’re not from around that area.“

“I’ve beer here a few times in 2004, and then more recently in December 2006. Singles selection is a joke, but they at least have a decent amount of bombers and 750s to choose from. I think the only things I picked up were a 6er of Hopslam and a bomber of Three Floyds Munsterfest, which was unavailable at the brewery.“

“Just a short drive from 3F brewery and worth the stop. Huge selection - if 3F doesn’t have a beer, check here. Large variety of local and international beers. As others have said - no Sunday sales in Indiana - at least they don’t have restrictions on alcohol percentage like in the south. Update: Don’t know if they are under new management but really don’t have the selection they did on my last visit. Still a decent selection of 3F but nothing all that unusual (I might be more jaded with the improvement of 3F distribution in Indiana). Still convenient to 3F brewpub so would be worth a stop.“

“This is my regular stop. Great location on US 41 in Highland. The prices may be slightly high but in my quest for great beer I usually spend $20 a week to try new stuff and grab a few favorites. The serivce is good, they also enjoy trying the new items on the shelf and gladly ask my opinion. If you live in the region this is your best option the whole left wall of the building is import and micro brews. I have had a few skunkers, but overall no complaints.“

“Prices are definitely elevated here. That being said, the selection is nice - lots of Stone, Rogue, Belgians. We actually found a store in Goshen (Chalet) that had a very similar selection, but much cheaper. If you are in the immediate area and are in dire need of good beer - Liquor Stop is your place. If not, don’t go out of your way.“

“All has been said: enough product variation to be worth a visit when you hit 3 Floyds, but prices seem a bit marked-up (which is hardly a detterent for someone who is used to the pricing of the greater Chicagoland area). Don’t go out of your way, but stop in when you hit the brewpub or get a hankerin’ for some Stone.“

“They advertise best selection of microbrews and imports in northwest indiana. They don’t have a ton of beers by any means but what they do have is worth the stop if you’re driving through. The Stone bombers are nicely priced (i think that maybe how they get you there) but everything else is little pricier than Binny’s or other liquor stores.“

“First a rant, ITS CLOSED ON SUNDAYS, a major traveling day. I have been here many times always to get Stone beers. Can get some other micro sixers but IL has picked up alot of these that were unavailable a few years ago. Sixer prices seemed high. A decent store for IL people to stop and get Stone beers as long as it is not Sunday.“

“I researched this place knowing I would be in Munster for Dark Lord Day. I know I was responsible for more than a few of their sales that day as I referred multiple folks there on account of their carrying Stone beers. Their selection is quite good; they had several Stone brews on hand (arrogant bastard, 9th anniversary, ruination, IPA, etc.), but I have to say that I was put off by their prices. It was rare to find any 6-pack for less than $9.99. It didn’t matter if it was a solid Great Lakes brew or some obscure Indiana micro. The Stone brews were over $5 per bomber; not bad when compared to comparable 3 Floyds brews that were twice the price (you’d think you’d get a local discount). Still, for selection alone and for probably the closest place for Chicagolanders to get Stone products, it’s worth a look see.“

“Stopped post DL Day. The highlights are being able to acquire Stone and Thirsty Dog products, not available in IL. Other non-IL included Upland products, Barley Island’s Brass Knuckle Oatmeal, and Dark Horse. The prices seemed a bit high for many of their non-Stone items, especially Bells and Victory. De Dolle and a few De Dolle Reserves, Fuller’s Vintage Ale 2001, Dark Horse 6-packs, the Stone regulars, and Siberian Night were the highlights. Be sure to look at the cooler in the far right of the store for some items that were not on the shelves.“

“An interesting crowd comes in here to find some of the best selected beers in the area. Kind of a cross between bikers and dead-heads. No problems though other than being way too smoky. Joanie usually has a couple of 3 Floyds on tap along with Celebration in season and seasonal Bell’s. Not far from 3 Floyds either.“

“Stopped in here on my way to Three Floyds from Chicago. Kind of a ratty liquor store that looks like it was moved into an old mexican restaurant. They have a rather large selection of Bombers. Some very nice picks, Three Floyds, Stone, Great Divide, Avery... I was elated to get Stone and they were only $5 a bomber. Other than that, everything is wickedly over priced. Bells six-packs were $10. I found Thirsty Dog Siberian Night which was the best find. Surprised that they didn’t carry any Victory. Six pack selection is rather disappointing. Worth a stop for Stone deprived Illinois residents.“

“Decent selection of some stuff not available at my usual places in Wisconsin and Illinois, including Stone, Back Road, Dark Horse, etc.; however, it wasn’t the best of what these breweries have to offer.
