“Beers so so, service tilted towards locals, I’m okay with that. Okay for a stop if nearby, but not a special stop. No food anymore.“

“Nice rustic interior. Very friendly waitress. Good service. about 20 beers on tap. 7 of them theirs. I had a nice flight of 4. A very good fish Ruben sandwich. Enjoyable time for me and my wife.“

“Downtown in a small town. Parking was easy and there is a decent sized free lot near the place. Bartender was excellent, kind of a standoffish Boston vibe but actually friendly, attentive and able to do many things at once. 4 beer flights available for $7, tax included. Beers are of mixed quality. None bad, some mediocre, some solid. They seem to do IPAs fairly well. Did not try the food. Overall a decent stop.“

The Waterworks Pub (Restaurant)
7 LINDSEY STREET
“Off from the main stretch of road that runs through downtown Rockland, this is a nice restaurant with basic pub food and outdoor seating in the summer. Their selection is somewhat limited to a few local microbrews on tap and nothing exiting in terms of imports. Very basic food and setting, pleasant wait staff. Not a terrible place, but Rockland definitely has more to offer...“

“A great find as there are not too many great beer selections in the Camden/ Rockport/ Rockland area. A good variety of local micro brews as well as some good Belgian beers as well. A notable pickup was the Tripel Karmeliet which has become one of my new favorites. I also like how they have some RateBeer ratings next to some of their best rated beers. I wish more stores would do this, as well as print out a more extensive list. A great place to stop into if you’re in the area.“

“Seems like kind of an unlikely beer destination but hey I was pretty impressed. Nice well-kept fairly large beer selection in rear of store. Pretty much self-serve although I was offered some friendly assistance. Some of the labels were Stone, Mikkeller, Nogne O, Rochefort, Victory, North Coast, DFH and Smuttynose. Got my lately elusive 6-er of Optimator so that was a plus. Prices seem about right. Only drawback to some RBers may be lack of singles for sale but there are quite a few 500s, bombers and 750s. About 10 meads and just a few sakes and ciders in the wine dept. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.“

Jess’s Market (Grocery Store)
118 S MAIN STREET
“Jess’s is primarily a seafood market, and a very good one, but they also offer a small but fairly carefully chosen beer and wine selection. You can usually expect to find Allagash, Unibroue, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Sheepscot (the contract brewed bombers but not the growlers), Tuckerman, etc.“

“Not much for ambiance, you may think you’re in the wrong place when you enter as all that meets the eye are pallets and metal shelving of bulk food containers but press on to the coolers along the back wall. The craft beer selection is actually surprisingly good and competitively priced including a few labels like St. Feuillien and Oak Pond that aren’t that commonly seen in this area.“

The Waterworks Pub (Restaurant)

“Not far from the harbor but you have to look for it due to being on a small side street but don’t let that stop you from going.“

In Good Company (Restaurant)
415 MAINE STREET
“This is a fun wine bar with a mellow vibe a lot of good little bites as well as good cheese and sausage plates. The beer list is interesting and varied, but all bottles, its a good place to bring a wine drinker when you’d like to drink beer.“

The Waterworks Pub (Restaurant)
7 LINDSEY STREET
“Half pub, half restaurant - the Waterworks has an old English feel with dim lighting, two 12’ tables with benches running along side and a large 10’ fireplace with a boar’s head mantle. Guest taps of Stella, Guinness and Smithwicks are the only distractions to the five Rocky Bay micro taps. Two large TVs dispaly the Bosox game. The barkeep is a kind middle-aged fellow who’ll steer your food selection towards the best on the menu (not the priciest) - together, we selected the Steak Bomb sandwich which was very good for the $8.95 price. Only complaint is that the fries taste like those from the frozen section of the local grocer. These should really look at making their own freedom fries.“
