“visited this Beerhouse shortly before Sylvester on a warm winter day. I found it because I saw people were standig outside having a draft beer the interior is rusty-cozy, but modern renovated. many Budvar-beers on tap and a collab-brew. THe food is classical czech. Toilets are clean and new. Menu is czech and english and there are not so many austrian tourists like in other restaurants in this city.“

“Arrived here quite late in the evening on Monday and it was absolutely packed. Well at least the part which was open. In the middle of nowhere so I really don't know how to get here without a car or bike or taxi. But seems that people love it. So did I. Nice beer, nice food, nice staff. Will come again if in area.“

“Just a quick beer before leaving Ceske Budejovice, I had the Jantar which was full of diacetyl but obviously can’t judge the brewery for a wrong beer , I had my beer in the “ patio “ and did not go in so I can’t talk about ambience inside .. if I’ll be back in town I revisited this place again“

“a nice brewery-restaurant in the center of České Budějovice (Budweis), which is mostly visited by austrian tourists, the food is typical czech and they also have several international dishes, but all of them are fatty, but tasty the staff is fast and speaks fluently German (also the brewer, who was working as a lorrydriver for the austrian company BauMax) The beer is fine and I'd recommend the normal 11°-beer It is a bit mure expensive than the standard czech restaurant, but ist-äs fair and the atmosphere is really cozy“

“A nice, modern, mainly craft beer bar in the least wide building in Budějovice's town center, it was filled with a nice crowd when we arrived. Great service, very friendly and tolerant, clearly into craft beer. 8 tap, a good mix of lagers (rare Bŕezí Koza 12°, Raven, Zlatá Kráva, Permon etc., and a mix of top class modern styles (Raven, Zichovec, Chroust, Máša). A well selected mix of bottles and cans too. Along with KMP (either or both), the essential bar to visit in ČB!“

Pivotéka Malt (Beer Store)
PLACHÉHO 27
“Fairly new but also fairly old-school beer store in old town Ceské Budejovice with very limited working hours. A large amount of beers from all over Czechia (most of them, though, not particularly hard to get elsewhere) sits on the shelves, mixed with some imports, and only two fridges, housing more sensitive craft beers mostly, including some they make. Good service, though it felt like they don't get too many patrons. My friends didn't find much of interest, but I opted for their new APA. 95kc for 1l, a pretty okay price. From a (very) local perspective it might be valuable, quite valuable even, but the selection just felt a bit generic. As a tourist, especially if you're not often / for the first time in Czechia (if you manage to catch its weird, limited opening hours), it's definitely a should/must visit though and check the fridges... warm shelves rarely helped a beer.“

“Visited before the fest with Fil & Ryan. Nice little basement bar by the Mlýnská stoka channel. 12 taps, 11 of which were beers, one was Kofola. A few fridges with bottles and cans in another corner. Obviously a gathering place for local beer geeks. One Brewdog and one Maisel's Weisse I reckon, the rest is a very good mix of high-profile (less) and local/regional Czech (more) beers. Went for Popelín 10° and Jílovice 12° Jantarový Ležák. Yay for rare ticks, heh. As moleha4 says, they note upcoming beers too. Pretty much a should/must-visit while in the town center.“

“Visited with Fil&Ryan. Beautiful place from the inside, legendary apparently and definitely frequented by tourists, but locals as well were in evidence. The prices seemed fair more or less, but we haven't eaten as we'd just done that at Solnice. Selection - Budvar basics + Kroužek, which was in the best shape I've seen it so far, just about the best pint of Bud you can get, which IMO isn't saying much but when in Budweis, you drink a good sweetish lager, if it's 35kč on discount. Pro service. All in all, er, not essential from a beer side, but hey - better this than Budvarka IMO if you're gonna have Bud in this town.“

“Krajinská 27 came with huge recommendations from a bunch of people and after missing out on it last time (as it was Sunday), I now finally got the chance to visit it. Taking up an inner courtyard off of a vaulted-footpathed street in the Budějovice old town, it immediately shows what it is with a window towards an open fermentor to the left. Cute little patio, fairly small modern interior. Some 6 beers on tap if I remember correctly - a great 11°, pretty good 12°, and seasonal 11° Jantar, 27° and Čertice - a 14° dark lager. All above average, with the 11° being a good contender for the best lager in Budějovice. Okay, pro service, good facilities, wi-fi, credit card accepted. The meals seemed good but didn't eat this time. All in all - a must-visit when in town!“

“Rock/punk bar/brewpub. tapping their own Beeranek beers (equipment visible next door) and a slightly wider selection of other beers than the average bar. And I mean slightly. The two beers made next door that were available (the Speciál 13° and the Polotmavé 11°) were fairly sub par. Slightly dingy inside, limited sitting on the patio outside. Some people didn't seem to like what the bartender was playing so we had two different soundtracks. Well, it was okay. Didn't hate it as much as the others did, and though it seems music-wise a place I'd go to if I was local, it was still rate & go. If they had a wider selection available of their own stuff, the rating would be higher, but two beers one of which was a bit off is a disappointment.“

“A popular local hipster-style place, but not an unpleasant or terribly irritating one, the atmosphere being quite pleasant. Coffee is primary, getting special coffee from all over the place, but the liquor selection is quite interesting too, solid whiskey list for example. And then there's the beer. Two taps of, yes, rare craft beers. Malt Pšeničné and Jilovice 11°. The same beers Imro had before, so I do have to question the frequency rotation. Neither of the two was worth repeating, and the prices were bloated for both (69 I think for the wheat, 49 for the 11°). The service was quite good, you get a couple of glasses of water when you sit down, speaks good English if you need that, but did miss one of our orders later on. Anyway.... this is a place you can sit at with non beer-rating/-drinking friends and they'll enjoy it likely, and the two ticks ARE by all means rare. At least as far as I can tell. So... yeah, not a priority as it's everything before being beer place.“

“Old, huge, striking and fairly recently renovated salt storage building impregnated with a pretty tasteful modern interior design. Big place, popular it seems, on three floors apparently, though only the ground floor was open on a Sunday afternoon. It is and isn't a brewpub as such - the plant is in an adjacent building 50m away, but connected apparently with some kind of a beer pipeline with the restaurant. Numerous service, fairly busy, generally polite, but, like Imro said, definitely a bit disorganised... clearly serving an older local before me, even though he'd just sidled up to the bar while I'd been waiting for several minutes and then when a colleague pointed out I'm waiting to be served, just going away making me wait even more. But it was a busy moment for them. The beers are generally clean, not particularly daring (this is the town of Budvar after all), but nicely drinkable, for quite good prices. Most locals seemed to be eating, so the food must be good and/or cheap I guess, but haven't partaken. The place has potential all in all, and a should-visit while in town. Out of the places which were open on a Sunday, this turned out to be the best one in town. Update: revisited in February 2020. Better service (but it wasn't crowded), and this time we've eaten and, by all means, the food was excellent, especially for the price! Well worth visiting! The 10° was worse than before, but the 11° and 12° better, and the seasonal Stout tasty. Not the most daring place beer-wise, but, hoenstly, we didn't care!“

“Visited midweek from shortly after opening time. 8 beers on tap, with a further choice of mainly international well chosen bottles. Beer lists on every table, and there were even 2 "coming soon" beers shown against the relevant taps on this list, where presumably those 2 kegs were running low. Most of the draught beers were from small Czech breweries, none of which I have come across in Prague. Recommended. “

“Restaurant with modern interieur. Only came here to buy some bottles (which is possible). Rather pricey and they only have 0.7 liters available. Beer was quaffable though. Probably very nice to spend an evening or afternoon here.“

“This is a pay at the bar pub just off the main square. Being the token tourist, I was roundly ripped off CZK125 for a CZK25 30cl of their own brewed Svetly, which was just about drinkable 1.5/5. If you want to tick off the brewery, go with the right change, if not avoid.“

“Visited on a cool Friday night in September 2017. The place was full, no music just lots of noisy chatter as it should be. Got a table in the alley, it's a recent/modern (but in classic style) brew pub. It's clean. I ate, the one vegetarian meal on the menu, was fine. Lots of meaty choices. What really let itself down was the service, it should absolutely not take 20 minutes for a beer to arrive. Rather than apologise, the server said its busy, what do you expect? While place was at capacity, the staff were working hard, it's lousy management/owners for not employing the right amount of people. I would have happily stayed for a third beer, but not if it took 20 minutes to arrive. It's a brew pub, so beer limited to what seems to be their core range of 4 draught and one bottle. No guests. The 12 was a 3.5/5, pushing 4/5. The IPA was not an IPA, an awful mix of beers and 2/5. Half litres ranged from CZK39-52 for half litre, the silly 27 degree bottled beer CZK 115. If I seem to have been harsh on service marks, well that's because I can only remember once waiting that long before.“

“One english mile to NW of old town of Ceske Budejovice. It’s worth those 1,6kms of walking along Husova ave. Opens regularly at 16:00, closed Sundays. You’ll find 12 TAPS, often 10 of them pour czech micro-brews. A couple of easy barbecue dishes adds the gourmet enjoyment. And it does not wear out your wallet at all. Your head throws in the towel long before..... Jezevcík navštívil. Doklad o kvalite místa. Very much recommended place!“

“Good food, great beers, and also possible to buy pets or bottles with some of their beers. Semiminimalistic interior, pretty modern, and lamps made of bottles. My waiter spoke deutsch and understood some englisch. I can recommend this place. Oh, and now I see the menu - Beer tasting set 85 czk...! Well, I’m very happy after about 3 litres of clean tasty beers! I’ll try not bumping into too many..... hick hupp“
