“Charming brewery, restaurant and hotel in a wonderful little town that seems to come straight out of a fairy tale. Very friendly staff and owners. Stayed in the hotel a couple of days, also ate in the restaurant. Both I can wholeheartedly recommend. The hotel rooms are large and clean, breakfast room and restaurant are both very nicely decorated. There is a collection of spa cups, worth seeing. Food at the restaurant was prepared with love. The traditional pork roast from their ancient Slavonic earth oven/grill was accompanied by entertainment and a buffet of accomaniments and tasted delicious. During my visit they had 4 beers on tap plus their strong 11,5% abv Václav to take away in bottles. Around the corner, but in the same building there is also a little shop selling their beer to take away and some (quite pricey) souvenirs. Value is good, although prices are slightly above Czech average, probably due to the touristy crowds attracted on Thursdays when they have their pork roast and the close vicinity to Carlsbad. All in all, a very enjoyable experience, I will definitely return to Loket.“

“Quite modern, newly erected - but still typical - "bohemian" brewpub, located in the very picturesque little town of Loket (german:Elbogen; "Elbow"). Loket is the west-bohemian equivalent to the extremely touristy town of Krumlov (german: Krumau an der Moldau) in southern Bohemia. Therefore some parts of "007 Casino Royale" were filmed here. The brewpub itself is - as expected - a touristy location, but no tourist-trap at all. The beers are quite well quaffable and the meals are tasty - by depressing czech standards. Surely worth a visit when You are around.“

“As mentioned already, Loket is a pretty impressive town. Sitting inside is nowhere near as nice as out on the deck, but service on the deck is unfortunately pretty sparse. Food was pretty dire, and prices quite expensive by Czech standards even though they never seemed to attract the German bus tour trade. I wouldn’t recommend the food or the service at all, but the beer and the view are both great.“

“loket is such a fun town, the brewery visit and the vienna shouldn’t be the only reason for a visit. the castle houses a torture museum, the tour is a little funny. picture from inside: http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaeljames/4101128897/sizes/l/ steel tanks, brick walls, lots of tables inside, patio outside with a tremendous view. the polotmave 11 will probably be the only beer available, but it’s simply the best vienna I’ve ever tried.“

“This place is a bit hard to find, if you enter the town from the wrong side. The place itself is very beutifully renovated with arched stone cealing. The brewery is very dominating in the end of the pub - where in the summer of 2008 Novak from Minipivovar Velichov was the brewer. The place was very quite when we visited mid-afternoon on a Monday. Only 1 beer when we visited, but apparantly they sometimes also have a 13 degree beer. The service was OK, but slow. The food was OK without being special - I had fried cheese, but it is quite pricy for the Czech Republic.“

“You can’t fault the view from the tables outside, (a beautiful town) and their own beer is excellent.“

“Scenery is simply unreal. A little island with a big castle on top of it and a brewpub next to it. Give a camera to a blind man and he’ll come back with a dozen of postcard-worthy pictures. The pub itself is classy and obviously targeted at a wealthy touristy crowd (there aren’t many locals in Locket). By far the most expensive place I have visited in Czech republic but at $3/pint this is steal cheap by our north-american standards. Only one home-beer on tap but a very good one which I thought was surprising considering this is a tourist-oriented place. Also had 2 Krusovice on tap when were there and both were so-so. This is NOT a party place. Courteous professional service. Excellent food but don’t expect the basic Czech traditional meals (no goulash!?!), the menu is more on the upscale side of things. With only one home-beer on tap and given the long ride from wherever you are this is not worth it just for the pub-crawling. However I HIGHLY recommend visiting Locket, and“
