“Small village brewery with great 7 brews. Needless to say that all Czech classics were top notch and even their take on "craft" was real good.“

“Another awesomely unique place on a day of memorable beer joints. Bus stops about 20cm from the front door, but I rode from Karlovy Vary to here and Velichov and I’d recommend it to anyone else. Fairly standard neighbourhood pub setup, with folks having beers waiting for the bus in what is basically a sunroom tacked on the front of the building and one weird dude with one of those throat holes you get after throat cancer surgery. Service was lovely, no English but she understood my terrible Czech fine. Food was basic but fine and insanely cheap, as were the beers. Beer quality was all over the place - 11 glorious, 12 OK and the wheat beer was dire. 1.5L bottles for takeaway at insanely good prices. When I was looking for the toilets I stumbled across the brewery - basically a homebrew setup (50L maybe?) in the owner’s living room behind the bar! Awesome. But when I asked the waitress if I could have a look she said no. Odd. Definitely worth the hassle to get there.“

“accessible by bus (might be difficult/time-consuming) or rental car (more expensive but much more convenient). the real deal in the czech republic. strictly a place for locals and not for tourists, we were still greeted warmly but with a cautious attitude, as if the young lady didn’t quite know if we were going to be friendly or demanding. enclosed porch sitting away from the bar-room relieves you of the cloud of smoke created by the locals. beer quality was good to excellent, with some containing daicetyl and other faults, but for the most part you’re getting an authentic small-town czech brewery experience. food was above good but just below fantastic, and as an american you can eat and drink yourself silly for such a small amount of change. two plates of food + five glasses of beer = $13 US.“

“A 30 minutes bus ride from Karlovy Vary and right next to a bus stop in the middle of nowhere is where you’ll find one of the coolest brewpub in Czech Republic. Two rooms that probably sit 50 total in a clean and well maintained old house. Ambiance at 7pm was 40+ year old locals watching a hockey game on an old beaten up 27inch color tv. No tourists there. I won’t even try to describe the brewing equipment (fully visible), you have to see it to believe it. I don’t know if they have food, didn’t see a menu, we only went there for the beer. On tap they had 4 homebrews, 4 guest taps (Cerna Hora). They also had some bottles. Their homebrews were very good. Service was like my grandma serving the family dinner. This is an authentic countryside mom-and-pop brewpub and it is really worth the detour if you are in the Karlovy Vary neighbourhood. One of my favourite place from my Czech Republic pub-crawl.“

“Établissement visité le jeudi 20 mars vers 18h30. Ambiance: Nous devions être les premiers tousites à visiter cet endroit. Écran de télé pour suivre le hockey. Foyer dans un coin. Clientèle très locale. Service: Un peu sec au début mais agréable par la suite. Langue tchèque seulement. Sélection: 4 fûts maisons, 4 fûts et 3 bouteilles de Cerna Hora lors de notre passage. (84e rating d’établissement)“
