76 /100 223 WEST POTOMAC STREET Looks cated right on the main drag in. Brunswick, street parking. Ol industrial building, inside still has the feel of it. Bare ones taproom, low tables, some seating on patio in front. Great service, more taps than I expected. Good quality all around. I think they had food. |
80 /100 223 WEST POTOMAC STREET Cool place in the middle of nowhere. Hit this place up on the way back from a river tubing trip at Harper's Ferry. Cool vibe in here. Sat outside on the patio which was nice. Like the old school firehall look of the place. Flights available. Beer pretty good. Lively local place. |
80 /100 223 WEST POTOMAC STREET Great atmosphere - neat brewery in an old fire station in an old historic town alongside the C&O Canal not far from Harper's Ferry. The upstairs used to be an entertainment lounge with acts like Patsy Cline and Duke Ellington. Most of the beers are named after artists who performed upstairs. The staff here tells me tha tthey are plans to restore the upstairs for live music events. They has about 18 or so beers on tap and are planning to expand that soon. All of the beers were good and a coupel were very good. They had a great Peruvian food truck outside when I visited and also serve limited food options inside. They were quite busy when I visited with trivia oon a Thursday night. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpfull. Great visit. |
78 /100 223 WEST POTOMAC STREET Just south of Harpers Ferry WV/VA/MD.. Cool setting in an old firehouse that still has firefighting memorabilia amid the taprooms and brewing equipment. Standouts from the 8 taps on this visit were their hefe, brown ale and pale ale. Super friendly service. Food truck out front although the bar does sell some salted snacks. Very relaxing atmosphere. |
80 /100 223 WEST POTOMAC STREET Very solid, fundamental brewpub with some very good beers. Highly recommended for those who enjoy straight forward and genuine. Service is solid, all beers were good, some really good and worth extra efforts to make the visit. Keep it up, please |
68 /100 223 WEST POTOMAC STREET New place in an old theater. Picturesque area next to the C&O Canal, near Antietem battlefield. Seven beers on tap, flight of four for $7.50. Pints a bit pricey for the area at $5.75. Tons of staff. No food. Long bar, few tables in a large anteroom that I guess used to be the lobby, interesting old playbills on the walls. Brewhouse visible through glass on the right. Street parking only is a bit limited. Beers are mostly OK with a few faults that will hopefully be worked out over time. For now, worthwhile if passing by. |
72 /100 Tri-State Liquors (Beer Store) 96 SOUDER RD A few years back this store was purchased and is now under new management (since the last review). For a small store, Raj does a great job of cramming as much craft in the back as possible - good selection of locals, Belgians, and an ever-growing selection of craft as it enters the Maryland market. Price is slightly higher than if I head a half hour up the road, but the slight premium is worth not having to drive a distance. |
