“This is a straight up greasy spoon dive of a place--which is great if you’re looking for that sort of thing. There are tons of individually wrapped saltines and oyster crackers out for you to help yourselves to as well as warm cornbread served when you first arrive. We were given a sample dish with each kind of chili, which was awesome since it helps you pick one if you are not experienced. I went with the Cincinnati--a slightly sweeter chili with a hint of cinnamon--and topped it with sour cream and onions (which I then tasted for the rest of the night!). One of my dining companions got a plate of chili dogs which looked awesome. The fries I managed to steal were a little soggy, but still edible--I might suggest ordering them well done. Also, I really liked the wings. Good selection of taps with mix of local beers, some special imports, and then the normal bar fare. Plenty of Maryland beers to choose from, on top of all the normal domestic ones.“

“Surprising little joint. Some really interesting beers on the shelf...I found some Avery...which hasn’t been distro’d here in MD for a few years. (I seen several brews that were on the shelf for years) The selection is pretty respectable. Place was mostly frequented by lower-income types just scoring some hooch. I explored an unmarked area that apparently was suppose to be cordoned off.....they didn’t implictly ask me to get out of there but I was approached by three different employees all of whom I sure thought I was about to steal something? Ghetto? Yes. Risky? Sure, don’t know how old the beer is unless it’s clearly marked. Pricey? Hell no, great prices! Worth the trip? If you’re looking for a particular beer in the area and have tried total wine and Perfect Pour and your local joints? Sure, or give um a call to see if they’ve got what you’re looking for. 10% case discount.“

“visited to find fresh beer and walked into a store that was about 77 F with almost all of the beer out warm. way to take care of your products. I wouldn’t even risk a $5 purchase from this shop.“

“A small, cramped liquor store near the University of Maryland. The selection is pretty good and the service better. A nice store inside the Beltway.“

“Tons of decent beers are squeezed into this place, lots of singles and 750s, plus a back room of sixers. Good selection of local stuff, including the largest selection of Bruery I have seen, if that appeals to you. Worth the short trip from the district, or a good detour enroute to Baltimore.“

“Nice, unassuming gas station looking liquor store. Large wine selection and moderate Scotch selection. Focus is half and half craft beer and wine. Lots of American microbrews in six-packs with occasional bombers from DuClaw and Heavy Seas. Lots of singles from Weyerbacher, The Bruery, Jolly Pumpkin. Prices are pretty reasonable coming from DC. I think it’s definitely worth stopping by. They have BrewDog Sink the Bismark and Tactical Nuclear Penguin for a pretty penny but just FYI. Not bad. Agree with Ryan, staff won’t ask to help you and may not be interested. But that’s better in my book than being harassed every second like 1 West Dupont Circle.“

“Good selection of taps with mix of local beers, some special imports, and then the normal bar fare of beers for those who need it. Good food all around, specializing in the different chilis. Excellent service. Highly recommend.“

“Best place to buy beer in the area. Chevy Chase has a better selection but is a little pricier and is in DC so traffic is worse. Perfect Pour has a better selection but is MUCH pricier. Corridor Spirits in Laurel is comparable but I like the beer selection (and prices) here.“

“This is your must hit beer stop in College Park. Stays pretty up to date with most new East Coast brews, though a few may slip through the cracks. Solid international selection as well. Best prices in town, typically a dollar or so less than it’s underachieving peers. A lot of my beer knowledge was gained from purchases here.“

“Decent bottle selection. Best selection in the College Park area. Some slightly rare local stuff. Good micro selection and not much wasted on the macros.“

“Decent selection, especially imports. American craft beers are only available in sixers or bombers/750s. Prices are ok, but are higher than Astors. Also the selection is better at Astors. Beers available here are Great Divide, Jolly Pumpkin, some Avery, Weyerbacher, Smuttynose, Troegs, DFH, Brooklyn, FFF, Victory. Service is, you don’t bother us, we won’t bother you.“

“Decent selection (especially imports). Micros are a little lacking. Poor handling of bottles. I’ve had more skunked 6-packs from this place then anywhere else. The guy that owns the place is a jerk. Corridor liqours in Laurel and Barnyard Wine and Spirits in Glen Burnie are way better.“

“Small place with a nice selection. Mostly 6packs, some singles. Found a Fantome Chcolate here. This was very close to my hotel. Jeffin took me here on my guided DC tour.“

“Last time I checked this place out had to have been in about ’97. Man, they sure changed! Very nice selection of unique beers for such a small liquor store. Back in the day they used to have only cases of swill and six-packs of stuff like Sam Adams.“

“Lots of micros here. Most are damn near impossible to find in Maryland. Always getting new beers in also. My only complaint is their hours for business. They used to open at 8 AM which is late for this area. Now they open at 10 AM, which sucks, unless you’re a college student.“

“This place got be through college. I lived a 3 blocks away and it was the store that got be being a beer geek. The selection is good but not unbelievable. They do sometimes have deals that I dont find other places (Like the $6.99 WWS). Great place for UMCP beer geeks.“

“An odd ball for sure but worth a visit if you are close by, Village Pump is very near to College Park, MD, home of the University of Maryland. The beer selection is not huge but the prices are excellent and most of the beer is kept in coolers so chances of a bad bottle are somewhat diminished. They also have a large selection of Malt Liquors up by the registers (for all of those Malt Liquor aficionados out there).“

“Small place with a decent selection. It's not amazing, but for what's available, the prices are among the best in the area.“
