“Visited on the afternoon before the second (partial) lockdown. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Had a nice spontaneous chat with one of the founders / brewers at the bar. Quite some of their own beers on tap, a few gast beers (de la Senne and one or two others) and a cider. Prices are ok. Brewery is in adjacent building. Shop available with their own brews and a very small amount of local brewery Beekdal (Renkum) for takeaway. Almost all 75 cl bottles, but they are working on a 33 cl filling station. Nice place, worth a visit when around.“

“Still an ok selection for a supermarket, but nothing special compared to liquor stores or beer shops. Some beers that you can't find easily in a supermarket though, like La Pirata and Galway Bay for instance. If you have to shop for food and want to find some nice beers in the same store, give this supermarket a try. Only worth a visit when around and maybe you're lucky enough to find some ticks.“

“The beer place to be indeed. Good selection, Dutch rare's. Lovely atmosphere although it wasn't to crowdy when I visited. But that was right after opening. Prices are bit on the high side.“

“Stumbled upon this place after a longish bike ride. It was empty on a sunday afternoon at 5pm. However, I had very charming service from a delightful young lady. Their tap list is far better than the more famous Vlaamsche Reus, around the corner. I tried a few beers, all of which were excellent. The brewery’s own beers were particularly good. I loved the hop weizen, could have drunk liters of it (even though it weighed in at a hefty ABV 8.1%). This place needs support and encouragement. They are doing a fantastic job with an excellent product(s). The only downside is the lack of substantial food offerings. They do do a hamburger in the evenings. I would expect that, as they grow, the menu will gently expand. Let’s all make that happen sooner rather than later...“

“I like this place. Industrial look with a warm old brown pub feeling. 8 of their beers from tap with some changing guest beers. Also a short but exclusive bottled beer list. Relatively cheap, Orval is only € 3,80. Mouthwatering whisky list. Friendly service. Beers to take away at quite affordable prices. The patio Douberd mentioned isnt theirs. Recommended!“

“Visited on a week day. Not so difficult to find, nice clean interior with a small kitchen and a short bar. Their own beers on tap of course plus some of Jopen, bottles of their own to take away. Food was burgers, didn’t pay much attention to be honest as I went for the beers. Big terrace outside. Friendly personel. Very good prices as ar as beer is concerned, even uncommon for the dutch standards.“

“The beer place to be at in Wageningen, for sure. Great selection of Belgian beers, Dutch beers and some foreign bottles. I got the honour to visit the beer cellars, and look at the beer place stash. Perfect place to get some ticks, lovely atmosphere (outside too). The beer list changes often - the prices are rather high (for a Belgian rater). But this is very a must visit in Wageningen.“

“Visited to discuss setting up monthly PINT beer tasting. Some very enthousiast beer lovers / brewers who know their stuff. Pleasant. Beer is OK, place needs little uplift and when they get the beer list they envision would be swell.“

“Rerate 26/12/15 I was in the city recently and thought to visit and see if they still have that good selection, now that Jumbo has taken over it. Dissapointed to see the beer section shrunk to a couple of shelves. The same beers you can find at every Jumbo of course, plus some craft estonian, some german hefeweizens and Brewdog beers. Doesn’t worth the time for a detour anymore. ///// 10/11/14 Huge supermarket in Wageningen. Small parking nearby but room enough not to drive around until you find a spot, on a Sunday. The beers are located close to the entrance so you don’t have to walk around all the food and stuff if you’re there just for the beer. Best selection I’ve seen in a dutch supermarket till now and probably it will remain so. Mostly belgians and dutch micros, but also some german hefeweizens, some geuzes too. I managed to find a whole box of new beers. Okay prices, plus some baskets with beers having a lower price because their BBD is close. I stock up on some of those, belgian strong ales that "expire" for half the price? Yes sir, I’ll take them. Big bottles available too, some glasses aswell. I don’t know how often they change their assortment but it seemed to me a decent place to locally buy your beers.“

“Visited on 9 Novemer ’14 for the release party of MaartenRF10’s beer. Brown cafe but then not your typical one as it seems re-innovated and one class up than others. Some tables outside, already taken. Nice atmosphere inside, I don’t know if it was because of the release party or because it was Sunday but I saw whole families with kids too, enjoying their beers. Normally that would upset me a bit but it turned out okay. Friendly personel. Big beer menu but the beers I asked were missing, including their own. Can happen I guess. Good prices. Bottles to take away too, always a big plus.“

“Outside the city center. Supermarket who took over the local Mitra. So this supermarket has the best beer selection a supermarket in The Netherlands has, for obvious reasons! But don’t expect any staff to know what they are selling and some prices are a bit higher than I would like to see. Overall, a supermarket with a super beer selection, as it should be!“

“On the centre of the edge of the square, nice, cosy and friendly beer cafe. Mix between old brown and bit new interior. Very decent beer card, a couple of taps, ABT beer and a handfull of specials. Unfrotunately some beers were sold out, but that can happen to anybody! Overall a good place to visit and with good weather enjoyable terrace and nice surroundings. They say it’s the best beer place in Wageningen...“

“Best supermarket in Wageningen to get your beers. Good selection of belgian beers (like Rochefort) for a very decent price.Since a few months there’s quite a lot of rarities and specials to be found here. Beers from smal dutch microbreweries and some new belgian breweries as well. Better than many many liquor stores.“

“Nice place in the centre of Wageningen. Decent selection: no extremes but enough choice. Not too crowded when I was there, perfect amount of people in, but I was told normally it’s pretty crazy. Good atmosphere.“

“A great place :-) A decent selection of interesting beers on tap. Ask for the beer book! It’s huge with a selection of very interesting beers. I had a nice chat with the owner, a very friendly guy, who showed me some of the rare stuff he has in stock. Well worth a visit“

“As a student in Wageningen, I come here about once a week. Most beers are affordable. Downside is that they do not have many rares, but you can find most of the Belgians here, and quite some English as well (which I don’t really care for). I like the boss Carel and even though he isn’t a talker, he’s very friendly and definitely knows what he talks about. Best pub in Wageningen.“

“Been here some times when my sister still studied in this small town with more students than ’normal’ civilians. Located in the center of Wageningen. They have a nice selection of belgian beers and when I was there even an aged version of the Optimo Bruno on tap. Nice!“

“This is the place where I had my first serious encounter with Belgian beer and had my first Orval. Nice medium sized brown café at the main square, really beery, not too noisy, still many students here, but they make up a quarter of the total Wageningen population. Good selection with all kinds of styles on tap, and a varied list of bottled beers, mainly dominated by Belgians and English beers, including their housebeer brewed at De Fontein. I believe they also have a selection of aged beers in the cellar. Service is good, very knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Wageningen.“
