“Various visits over the last 20 years. Pleasant, cozy pub. Enough beers, draught and bottles but a bit the more standard ones.“

“Leuke locatie in oud huis midden in de stad. Helaas is op dit moment het aantal beschikbare huisbieren zeer beperkt, echter heeft men als alternatief meerdere gastbieren opgenomen. Ruime sortering w.b.eten en overige zaken.“

“Nice place, friendly staff. Had a PINT meeting there and they served us well, stayed for some hours didn't get pressure to leave even though we did not consumed too much and were sometimes very loud. Good beers as well. Recommended“

“We visited here Thursday 27th September 2018. It was a glorious autumnal day and we'd had a lovely cycle ride alongside the river from our campsite just north of Deventer. As I mentioned in my rating for Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus we'd arrived just after lunch so about 13:00 -13:30 and on market day and so we visited this bottle shop as many of the other places in the market square were waiting for the stalls that sat in front of them to head off so they could put out the outside seating, depriving us of a much needed beer after the our cycle ride. But hurrah... the bottle shop was open. It is located at the end of the market place, I guess it is still relatively central. It has a fairly standard layout, the counter wasn't on the left at the front of the store and the beer was also to the front of the store on the right hand side.

The beer choice understandably focused on Dutch and Belgian beers with a smattering of Scandanavian and American beers adding to the choice. I picked up 5-6 beers but my choices concentrated on the local dutch scene, the prices were very fair and the owner whom we had a short chat with seemed a really nice chap. I would certainly recommend a visit here if you are in the vicinity.“

“We visited here Thursday 27th September 2018 following a lovely cycle ride alongside the river from our campsite just north of Deventer. Despite us arriving at 13:30, this place much like its near neighbour Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus was only just getting ready to open owing to market day and waiting for the stalls that sat in front of them to head off so they could put out the outside seating. We walked around town and then visited the beer shop Stadsslijterij also in the Groenmarkt before returning here.

We sat outside as it was as gorgeous sunny day, but not before nipping inside to take a look at the bar and check out the beers on offer. The tap choice was a little bit safe with only a Brouwerij t IJ seasonal Bock and a La Chouffe that would have interested me. The bar is on the left hand side as you enter and a very large chalk board sits up high on the right hand wall near the front of this place. Much like it's near neighbour this also appeared to occupy a historic building, there appeared to be a lot of dark wood, it was long and narrow, I never used the toilet but suspect that they were at the rear of this café.

The bottle choice ran to about 50-60 beers, mostly Belgian but with the odd De Molen and Van Moll amongst. However the Trappist range was well covered with even Westy 12 on offer at €15. I had a Boon Kriek followed by a a St Bernadus 12, Loz had an Orval. Prices were very reasonable and service very good, I had a pleasant chat whilst paying my bill with one of the young chaps who ran the place. I liked this place, ok so the beer selection could have been better, but there was still enough to keep both of us happy.“

“We visited here Thursday 27th September 2018 following a lovely cycle ride alongside the river from our campsite just north of Deventer. We'd arrived about 13:30 and on market day and so whilst they were getting ready to open, like many of the other places in the market square (Café Camelot included) they were waiting for the stalls that sat in front of them to head off so they could put out the outside seating. We wandered around town and came back an hour or so later.

Stadsbrouwerij Cambrinus occupies a fairly central position in this pretty little town. Café Camelot is very close by and it has a solid if rather predictable bottle range, however you do feel that this place has really got the local craft beer market to itself. It being a glorious day we sat outside, the young barmaid serving us recalled us from trying to pop in earlier, she was lovely, really friendly and enthusiastic about the place, her english was impeccable. I popped inside to use the toilet which was downstairs. The bar is on the left hand side and the brewing kit is on show at the rear of this place just near the stairs down to the toilets. There is plenty of wood in here, it looks like an old building, there is a cozy vaulted cellar area with seating downstairs.

We had one of their own beers, though the choice did offer a few other options other than their own offerings. We had the Magistrat (Barley Wine) as well as a Dubbel, both of these were pleasant enough, the former slightly the better of the two. We liked it here both the town itself and this bar and would certainly return if in the area. “

“Spacious liquor store with a decent 100-bottle beer selection. Stopped by to pick up some local beers and left with a number of new Dutch (Gelderland) breweries as well as some relatively widely available Spanish craft (Edge, Napar). Noticed some Mikkeller, Struise and Põhjala as well. Wide selection of Rodenburg. Owner wasn't in, so no conversation. Good place to pick up some local micro's.“

“Visited in april 2015, thought I'd rated this but either I forgot or the rating disappeared. Anyway, this is a must stop if you're in Zutphen, primary because of the central location on the main city square and the preserved historical atmosphere. Beer selection is good with a number of their own beers as well as some guest taps. I didn't think much of the beers themselves, dull Belgian styles with some flaws, but maybe they will improve. Had some good food as well. Will visit again when I am in the area.“

“Medium-sized liquor store just around the corner from the Cambrinus brewery. Although the focus is on spirits and wine, there is a small corner with about 100 bottles. The selection is mainly Dutch and Belgian with several bottles from Rodenburg (Including three beers specifically labeled for Zutphen), but several nice beers from Napabier or Põhjala are available as well, so not only standard dullness. The shop owner was knowledgeable about his goods and the background of the beers and is very helpful and attentive without compelling you to listen to his advice. Prices were reasonable, and since it’s in the centre you should visit it if you’re in town already.“

“Just went there with my family for a quick lunch. It is located in the heart of the beautiful city centre where the market takes place on Thursday. We sat outside on the patio but I had a quick look at the interior. It is quite old-fashioned with lots of wood and stones but looks very cozy, especially the cave-like room downstairs. I didn’t taste any of their beers, but they had 17 different taps (not sure about bottles). Four of them were from the brewery itself, the rest was Belgian and Dutch standards. Good beer-related food, very tasty although not first class. I can recommend their fries made with beer and sea salt. The staff was friendly as well.

Update: Came here for the second time already and ordered their tasting plank which includes their five tap beers for a reasonable price and some slices of white bread. Beers are decent, and the tap list remains quite the same with mainly Belgian standards and a few Dutch (good beers, but not hard to find).“

“Pretty good brewpub with a reasonable range of their own beers. Not much English spoken but we got by. Homely atmosphere inside. Definitely worth a visit.“

“Visited on a Saturday, during the market. Sat on their patio, had a taster of their beers (6 for €6.50) and some food. Attentive and friendly service, nice beers, good food. Interior looks nice as well, basement is for group reservations and brewery tours. Recommended.“

“Visited september 2013. Lovely citypub, downtown Zutphen, close to the town square. When we visited there was a market, so a bit difficult to spot the place, bu we found it :-). Parking within walking distance. Friendly staff, cosy place, with the brewing plant in the pub. We had 4 of their own beers, served in ok condition. They have a few from other breweries as well, both on tap and bottles. They do food, we had a few bar snacks, which was nice.“

“Fairly roomy Dutch bar with about 12 taps, half of which come from their own brewery. Both the bar and brewery seem to be called Cambrinus now. Why? Sigh. Anyway, I took a table at the roomy outside terrace, very nice on a summer day. Nice view on the historic streets here. The young girl was soappealing to the eeye, I didn’t dare to ask about anything beer related. Their own beers are nice enough, and a pretty nice tap guest list too, with Liberty Ale, for example. Didn’t try the food, but it looked nice. Prices are what expected from here in the Netherlands, maybe a bit higher. Certainly good for a sunny day visit.“

“Nice brewpub. We visited the place after a beerhike (bierwandeltochten.nl) and had a very good tasting of their own beers. The brewer is very knowledgable and enthousiastic. The beers are all pretty decent and are served (if you want) with snack, like chips or union rings in beer batter and bread with beer mustard or garlic mayonaise.“

“Nice place at one of the central marketplaces in the small old town of Zutphen. Inside it looks like an old market-building as well, with low ceiling. Very cosy, although it was not crowdy all the time. Food was also quite good, just took a big sandwich and jerohen had a nice goat cheese salad. Good beers as well. Nice place overall.“

“Zutphen was new to me. It has a long history and that shows. Nice center with lots of heritage building and also a nice place to shop. The brewpub/restaurant itself was simple perfect. Not in a beerwise manner maybe although their beers are above average for sure. But it looks nice, very friendly staff and even the young girl (18?) new quite a bit about their beers. We had lunch first with 2 beers. Great lunch (mushrooms and porc baquet) it immediately great atmosphere. Later that day we came back after shopping and a tour through the town for dinner. We had fried mushrooms and fried mussels as an appetizer and both were wonderful. Main course was good but dessert was excellent again. My wife had chocolate cake, the best ever and more than she could handle. I had a cheese platter with bread. Not only great cheeses just this platter would have almost been enough as dinner. About their beers. The beers are good as mentioned but I can certainly advise you the tripel if you like sweet tripels. It quite a long drive for us, but ... we’ll be back for sure!“

“Nice patio on a busy market square in the underestimated town of Zutphen. The friendly and knowledgeable waiter brought me six tasting glasses, four of their own beers, and two beers named Zutphens Dubbel and Zutphens Tripel, for the time being brewed by Chouffe. In a few months they will brew those beers themselves. Will return for more as their beers are OK and will be further improved.“
