64 /100 Hamse Bok (Bar) HOGE HAM 45 Visited on a late afternoon during a weekday. Basically right in front of town hall. Place was more crowded than I had expected. Nice brown pub interior, quite cosy. Plenty of places to sit. Decent beer menu though only one new local tick for me. Which was worth it though. Definitely worth to pop in for a beer when around. |
70 /100 Rovin (Beer Store) WILHELMINASTRAAT 79A Visited on a late afternoon during the week. Might even have been a Monday. Only person in the place was me. Friendly staff who showed me around and pointed me in the right direction as I had never been there before. Very ueful store. Found several new ticks for myself, especially (very) small local breweries. Very solid selection overall and decent prices. Worth a visit when around. |
58 /100 VEEPAD 33 Wanted to visit with Caesar during a cycling trip, but the place is located on the outskirts of "town" and it became clear we approached the place from the wrong side: the asphalt stopped and it became a dirt road. Not something we wanted to do with our race bikes so we abandoned the idea. I went again -with the car this time- a couple of weeks ago, approaching the location from the opposite direction and found it to be located on a farm. No signs that it was a brewery. One of the brewers just came out of the house so I asked about the beers and he guided me to a large side building. In there were loads of boxes with their beer, ready to ship I guess. A few boxes were opened and I could buy most of their beers. Friendly people, decent beers. Worth a try I'd say, if you can find it! |
66 /100 Janssen & Janssen (Bar) HOGE HAM 59 Located on a quite busy crossing (for Dongen standards I guess), with a decent patio next to the streets. Inside is more oldschool Dutch bruin cafe. Decent beer selection with mostly Belgian standards, but also a small (40+) selection of craft. Didnt take any food. Decent for a rural bar. |
78 /100 Janssen & Janssen (Bar) HOGE HAM 59 Was there once. Not a great ambiance or service that night but an amazing selection of beers and a good kitchen. |
80 /100 Janssen & Janssen (Bar) HOGE HAM 59 Leuke gezellige tent, met meer dan 130 verschillende bieren. En de collectie wordt steeds verder uitgebreid. |
74 /100 Janssen & Janssen (Bar) HOGE HAM 59 Nice bit hip looking restarant/bar on a somewhat corner looking part of the street. Pretty cosy outside bit hip with brown interrior tones inside. Good selection of beers, I was told they are are at 220 beers now but still looking for more and more!
Beers from breweries like Muifel, Uiltje, Maallust and Prael were well represented, (to name a few). Service is friendly, with a smile and in for a chat. Didn’t try the food. Prices are good and there are also some cellar sells, that sells cheap!
All by all a place to visit when in the vicinity! Expect more beers in the near future. |
76 /100 Rovin (Beer Store) WILHELMINASTRAAT 79A Great Beer Store in a small town. |
72 /100 Hamse Bok (Bar) HOGE HAM 45 Gezellige kroeg in Dongen. |
