82 /100 500 WEST MAIN ST. Went on a nice day. A nice historic hotel as mentioned by other reviewers, but we sat outside in the wonderful garden patio. Seriously, this is a really nice patio! I got the impression there wasn't a lot of staff, but our server was friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. Really nice variety of styles, many obscure, and overall very well-made. Did not try the food, but the people I was with liked the hummus plate. |
56 /100 500 WEST MAIN ST. Cool old hotel. Charged for popcorn but was not listed and the machine was self service. Beer was old world style and server gave me a different one than I ordered |
66 /100 500 WEST MAIN ST. Stopped by for a couple beers and a brat. Nice place, facility is sharp, beer had some interesting German inspired choices. They do sample for $2. My favorite was the dunkelweiss pretty good. Limited but some food. |
74 /100 500 WEST MAIN ST. If you did not know a Brewery was in the building, you would pass it right up. Nice historic building and nicely done inside. 10 beers on tap (with room for more). Was a bit pleasantly surprised and pleased with the offerings. Busy - stopped by right after they opened on a long Holiday weekend. Sells individual samplers of all beers. |
82 /100 500 WEST MAIN ST. Stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon. The building is a lavishly restored hotel dating back to 1879 and has three levels as well as a large beer garden outside. They focus on traditional northern European beers as well as historical beers such as Vargdricka which they were out of when we were there. Very attentive and friendly servers. Food items were very limited, but they offered menus from several local eateries. The beers we tried were very good to outstanding. Looking forward to going back for more. |
80 /100 Canopy Bottle and Gourmet Shoppe (Beer Store) 204 E ST PAUL ST I go by Brighton frequently but just recently got a chance to stop in. My initial impression as I walked in was underwhelming, but don’t be fooled by the size of the store. The beer is towards the back and they manage to squeeze in quite an assortment. They had many beers I had never seen before. |
90 /100 Canopy Bottle and Gourmet Shoppe (Beer Store) 204 E ST PAUL ST Very nice selection and lots of singles to boot! Very friendly & helpful too. Wasn’t expecting much but walked out with a ton of unrated beer (for me, with 6,800+ ratings at the time, is no small feat). Locals and imports (some import rarities too boot). |
94 /100 Canopy Bottle and Gourmet Shoppe (Beer Store) 204 E ST PAUL ST Outstanding bottle selection of local Michigan, U.S., and International, especially for a smaller place. Great, friendly service with numerous strong (tasty) brand recommendations. Always get the latest products. Off the beaten path making it hard to find. |
76 /100 BoomTown Kitchen and Tap (Restaurant) 9675 VILLAGE PLACE BLVD. If you can get past the maze of roundabouts this place is pretty good. Just opened a short time ago and is a nice change of pace from the rest of bars in the area. During my visit they had beers from Founders, Bells, Dogfish, Stone, and Shorts to name a few. Only a handful of taps were wasted on light beer domestics. The food is simple but well prepared and their burgers are huge. |
