“Very small, strip mall liquor store, about evenly divided between wine and beer (maybe a bit more wine). Lots of good local stuff--Barrel Theory, Fair State, Blackstack, Lupulin, Steel Toe, etc.--along with some Drekker, Toppling Goliath, and a few other, harder to find beers. The prices seemed to be a bit on the high side, actually, and there was no one around when I first came in. Someone finally came out of the back room after I'd been there a few minutes and asked if I needed help. I didn't--was just checking out the beer coolers, where I found plenty of good choices. Had to be careful not to go overboard.“

“This place has really come around. Tap list is consistently very good now, and sometimes excellent. Cool vibe, great place to drink beer.“

“Two beers from Disgruntled, four from Prairie, and three from Perennial on this visit; despite the obligatory light lagers on tap, top quality is clearly the focus here to a degree not met at possibly any other bar in the area. For this alone they deserve a huge amount of credit. As others have noted this is a chain restaurant in every other respect, and it is attached to a hotel within a huge office park. But, it is very easy to access off the highway, so if passing through the western suburbs this is a must stop; glad to have been aware of this place thanks to other diligent local place raters!“

“A more upscale resturant and craft beer bar in the burbs. Place looks fancy, it was pretty crowded on a Friday night. Decent size tap list with some nice selections. Food was pretty good, non happy hour menu is a bit pricey. Serve was pretty good. Similar to many suburban taphouse/resturants.“

“Fairly large booze emporium located in a quiet suburb. Staff seemed to stick to the registers, but I didn’t have a problem with their laid-back demeanor. The beer selection’s slightly bigger than most places in the area, and doesn’t seem to get picked-over as quickly as more high profile spots, so I’ve begun to slowly work it into my usual routine. Solid enough place.“

“Grizzly’s is an independent chain that emphasizes its beer list. The Plymouth location has become something of a leading light in the west metro beer scene over the last year. Disgruntled and other quality local players consistently feature. They hold pretty impressive barrel aged tap takeovers a few times a year, which is pretty fun. The restaurant itself is nothing spectacular - think of it as a regional Applebees or something similar. However, the beer list definitely makes it worth keeping an eye on. Worth checking out if you’re heading past.“

“Best beer joint in the west metro, thanks to Bailey and Andy, and the management that lets them do their thing. Great tap list, constantly rotating. Great beer events. Food is terrific. Cheap build your own flights. My go to spot. Update - best beer bar in the metro. Print it. Their beer list keeps getting better and better, and it was amazing to start with. It’s been stupid good for at least a year now, and I’m talking about every damn day, not just once in a while.“

“A nice suburban restaurant with surprisingly nice tap list. A standard chain restaurant feel to the place with a nice view of the woodfired grill. Service is good and the bartender is knowledgeable on the beers. A nice combination of local and national micros with usually atleast one rarity one tap. I have never tried the food. Prices are solid. A nice little place, especially for the west suburbs.“

“Small narrow wine and beer store located in a strip mall. The beer selection occupied about half of the store. There were maybe 200 unique beers to choose from. I appreciate that a lot of the hoppy stuff was being stored in refrigerators. Prices were decent and the service was upbeat and friendly. This place isn’t a world beater, but it’s a solid local.“

“Brian put it well. Not the biggest selection, or the best, but all around, pretty good, especially for this part of town. Friendly service. October 2015--selection seems even smaller than the last time I was in. Only a few singles. Still the best whisky prices in town and some good beer but not much of it.“

“Just like every other old Chicago. Same food, same beers, same atmosphere. This isn’t a bad thing but its not a good thing, either. Pretty typical place. Decent beer selection.“

“I have purchased beer well beyond the expiration date on 2 occasions (my fault for not remembering to look). Great selection, but this store does not rotate their stock. Service not all that friendly.“

“Small shop with more wine then beer. Good amount of MN locals with the usual macros. Pricing was fair, service was good.“

“I always leave this store feeling unsatisfied. I have picked up some good beers here (case of Hopslam, Surly Five) but usually its stuff that is everywhere and I think its priced a bit higher. They have a lot of beers and the workers are nice.“

“Excellent store. Lots of craft beer here - pretty good selection of singles, lots of bombers, and a few quirky harder to find beers. Good service.“

“I’m a fan - love the pizza, which has great buttery crust. Sports on the TVs. And loads of beers, even if most aren’t very high end or rare, you can usually find a couple that are worth ordering.“

“I am a little less critical of this place than JK. I rate selection based upon a comparison to the average liquor store, and the selection here is far, far better than the average liquor store, and therefore worthy of an above average score for selection. Although the selection may still not be quite what it is at the Cellars in Minnetonka, I didn’t see it as considerably less. And it appeared that the mix-a-six section was more customer friendly (better variety, less expensive) than in Minnetonka since Jason became their new beer guy. Overall, this place is one of the best liquor stores I have been to in the Metro area; certainly in the top 10, and maybe at the bottom of the top 5, and since Cellars Minnetonka has slid under new mgt, the gap is closing.“

“This is my favourite Old Chicago. The service has always been fantastic and the food is always great. It gets a little busy during the weekends but it’s a good crowd. I like this one for late night pizza cravings. because the kitchen is open until 01:00 AM.“
