84 /100 SimplyFine (Bar) UNTERE HAUPTGASSE 5 Cool place on the main square of Bern. They do a little bit of everything, but are focused on quality products from Switzerland. The front place is a small Beer bar with 8 taps. In the back they have a Deli counter with a nice selection of Swiss cheese. Inbetween they have 4 fridges with lots of different Swiss Craft beers and a big selection of wines. I had lunch here. I just asked them to do me a Veggie Sandwich, and it was really really delicious. Tap selection are mostly local beers. They do tasters by 4. Beers werent that great. I had two transparent NEIPAS, which were not related to the style at all. Bottle selection is very interesting. I had a No-Alcohol Porter which was pretty good. Prices arent very cheap, but Ok. As said, food was great. Definitly recommended when in Thun. |
62 /100 KlaBier Shop (Beer Store) SCHULSTRASSE 11 Located approximately 2 km outside the city center of Thun. Actually, this is a shop for instruments (mainly) pianos, but the owner decided to add beer to the selection - quiet a uncommon combination. Focus on small local breweries with a rotating selection (~30 bottles). Prices are good and lower than in other shops with similar selection. |
86 /100 SimplyFine (Bar) UNTERE HAUPTGASSE 5 The SimplyFine is actually a deli food shop/bar/coffee in the center of the old town of Thun. The owners focus on Swiss products. Beside wine, cheese, all kind of meet, oils, vinegar, teas... they also offer a pretty decent selection of beer with a focus on smaller to very small local breweries. Additionally, they have a good selection of barrel aged BFM and Trois Dame beers as well as White Frontier, Nebuleuse... (approximately 120-150 beer in total). Normal prices for Swiss standards. Friendly staff - the owner is really passionate about beers and regularly organizes tastings with breweries and other beer events. Normally, two brews are on tap and many more are available cooled from fridge. If you have a beer in the shop, I recommend to eat there. The food is great - in particular the Apero plate with a mixture of various Swiss cheese and meet varieties. Best place for beer in Thun. |
82 /100 SimplyFine (Bar) UNTERE HAUPTGASSE 5 This is a great place, decent selection of 523, Blackwell, BFM and many smaller local breweries, all set in a nice cafe / deli surrounding. Great food too! |
58 /100 SimplyFine (Bar) UNTERE HAUPTGASSE 5 This isn't really a beer place but more of a hip food & drinks location combined with a cafe and lunch place. There is a nice selection of regional foods and drinks including some beers, which are otherwise hard or even impossible to find. At the time of our visit, there were two beer fridges plus a shelf, all well stocked. The staff was fairly knowledgeable about their selection and tried to be helpful. Beers can be consumed on-premise in the cafe or at a more communal table. Good atmosphere. If you are in Thun and looking for a coffee while browsing some local beers, have a look at this one. |
72 /100 Mani’s Coffee & Bagels (Bar) PANORAMASTRASSE 1 Very nice little cafe / restaurant. Very decent selection of Belgian beers. But the highlight is the very decent selection of Swiss beers including local specials from 523 and Blackwell. |
