Coop Saignelégier (Grocery Store)
RUE DES RANGIERS 4
“A medium sized Coop supermarket as many others in Switzerland/Liechtenstein. This one has not as a large selection of Swiss industrial beers as other Coop supermarkets, but, among different foreign beers, it has an extended selection of craft beers from French-speaking Switzerland, not only from Saignelégier's own craft brewery, the Brasserie des Franches Montagnes (BFM). As small Saignelégier is, it's nice it has two good addresses to purchase beer. Unfortunately prices are quite high, as for the rest of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.“

“Nice brewery pub with about ten homebrews from the vat and a shop where you can buy beer and other stuff related to the brewery. Prices are reasonable, for Swiss circumstances. As little snacks it sells dry sausages and the local cheese Tête de moine. The musical background there is indie/punk and the place has two tabletop football tables one can play with for free. Guided tours of the brewery are available, but I forgot to ask if they're free of charge. The people working there look like they also like to drink their beers, which is a positive advertisement. One negative thing is that the deposit on beer bottles is fixed at 1CHF each, which is painful for a tourist like me.“

“What's not to like? One of the world's most cutting edge breweries, with a cool, punky bar with a nice summer terrace. Apart from the various edtions of Saint Bon Chien de l'Abbaye, which is such an utterly brilliant, unique beer, there's all kinds of other interesting beers, and fine finger food & cheese. When I was there in July 2015 I really liked their low alcohol mint & cucumber blonde. Nice area, too. At that time, I was able to combine it with the street festival in Chaux-de-Fonds nearby, also visiting Le Locle and having a quick look at an early Le Corbusier building. Vaut le détour!“

“BFM Pub - Finally made it up into the Jura mountains for this particular pilgrimage! It’s a funny little place, set down a road onto what is basically a small industrial estate at the edge of town, with a bar and patio in front of the brewery itself. Super friendly, good range of their beers to drink either on tap or to buy in bottles - it’s basically a great craft beer set up, transplanted into the Swiss mountains.“

“Visited with friends on 11th November 2017 - Superb place on a small village at the French-Switzerland border. Amazing ambiance, great beer selection, super friendly staff, really amazing evening. Highly recommended. There is a shop with good value price. A must to visit!“

“This review is for the annual Brassin Public event: A two day celebration of all things BFM includes free roam of the brewery with food and drinks while wort is actively being produced. There is a large selection of beers from their core range to beers which are not even available in bottles (yet). The food is centered on local specialties (game, rabbit, etc) provided by local cooks for a very reasonable price. The gift shop usually carries special swag and hard to get bottles (in 2016 this included a Saint Bon Chien vertical ranging from 2011-2015) during the event as well. In my calender of Swiss beer events, this has been a staple for a long time. The atmosphere is generally very friendly, there is enough space and if you would like to play foosball against the brewers, that’s can absolutely happen. ---- For visits during normal business hours, BFM is also quite interesting but fairly pedestrian. The place is hard to reach in the small town of Saignelégier and generally doesn’t offer many choices in beer that one cannot get in bottle shops. However, if you are looking for an end point to a hiking or biking adventure in the Franche Montagne, this place is excellent...“

“Nice little bar in front of the brewing equipment and storing barrels. Quite mixed furniture and a little shop with bfm merchandise. Very customer friendly prices for the beer. Also the sausage and cheese is very cheap and good.“

“Petite virée printanière avec @Renobob à la brasserie, idéalement placée pour les franc-comtois car juste après la frontière de Goumois, l’endroit est vraiment sympa avec une bonne ambiance et un accueil au top, on a pu tout déguster et après prendre ce qu’on veut au magasin, excellente adresse“

“Attended the brassin public, open brewing day, that happens the first weekend of November each year. Seemed like the entire town was there, until the wee hours. Five taps, five bottles, but the feature, of course, was the new release, Cuvée du 14ème, which was delicious. Definitely worth seeking out this place to meet Jerome and try his beers.“
