70 /100 2971 WHALEN ROAD Located so close to Other Half you can see it. Kind of generic design, big rectangular building. Nice big L-shaped bar. Food available. Attentive service. Flights available. Decent quality, especially in the shadow of OH. |
92 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 Situated on the rolling green countryside in NY's Finger Lakes region. Alpine lodge-looking taproom with a sprawling beer garden, picnic tables, lawn games. All beers are top notch and enjoyed in this lovely setting. Great service too. Must visit |
72 /100 2971 WHALEN ROAD Went with a group of four. All were quite pleased by the food, and the service was slow, but effective once we got a waitress. She knew the beer quite well. There were nice diverse selections of beer, and the dark stuff was outstanding. Worth a stop. |
84 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 Selection alone is a reason to go here. 20 taps. All great other half beers. Mostly NEIPA but several sours and some stouts. Out on a farm type environment. Went in the winter but some great outdoor space for the summer. Worth going for sure. Smaller space than I would imagine for other half. |
80 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 The beers are great, if you are into IPAs, especially hazy, with a side of pastry stout. In other words, what all the kidz are drinking these days. The ABV was average on all products of about 8.5 so use caution when operating heavy machinery. Have cans to go often, not sure about crowlers/growlers. Chairs are not super comfy, just like all of these places. |
20 /100 2971 WHALEN ROAD The beer was underwhelming. The service was slow-ish, but not horrific. The food was average. I’d skip this place unless you are desperate for more ticks after other half, which is 10 seconds away. |
86 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 Well it’s 15 minutes from my house, so the location is perfect for me. It’s kinda a mini Hill Farmstead in terms of its setting and vibe. I’ve been a few times and there’s 20 taps of their own beer, usually 16 of them are IPA. So, it’s a haze fanboi destination. They also usually have 3-5 variants of hoppy stuff for sale to-go, along with maybe 1 impy stout. This is a must stop for any hazeboi who finds themselves within driving distance. |
74 /100 2971 WHALEN ROAD Patty and I stopped here after 'Other Half'. Nice big new place. Long L shaped bar. Plenty of seats and tables. Outside seating, both covered and uncovered. Not a large selection of beers yet. Maybe get a few more that are not Irish related. |
86 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 Patty and I stopped in yesterday after noon at the Bloomfield Tap room. Parking lot was full and we parked on the side of the driveway. Some parked at lot next door. 20 of their beers on tap. I had 7 of the $4 small glasses to try a lot. All great. All table almost full, inside and out. A food text was cooking steak sandwiches. Nice place to share a table and meet people with great beer! |
84 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 tap room open 10 days and word is getting out. every parking space taken. will be packed through patio with nice weather. beers all brewed nyc currently. roc will be the funk hub.great service. selection even better than ny now with mid week bottle pours. about 20.minutes off the throughway. this is a destination. |
74 /100 6621 STATE RTE 5 AND 20 Tap room still not open, but went for a can release. About 30-40 minutes' drive south from central Rochester. Room for about 50 cars. Arrived around 11 on a Saturday, and there were about 20 people in line. 9 beers available, 8 only in 4-packs, the 9th was a BA barley wine. Line went quick; paid by credit card. No pain. Wish they sold singles, though. A bit too geeky. Wouldn't want to wait as long as some people told me they have waited before. Great if you only have to wait 10 minutes. Look forward to seeing the tap room, although damn it is very far from anywhere. |
