“As the name suggests, this place is in a former train station on the north end of town. Amtrak passes by, but obviously not often enough to disturb anyone, and anyway it only goes 30 mph. Small place, brewery below the floor, huge wrap around patio so you can watch the cars race by. Permanent food truck. Tasty beers. Friendly service. Dogs and brats allowed.“

“Their motto is "no funcking breakfast sandwiches" so don't expect the usual at this brunch place (that also does dinner one night a week). Beer list is small but includes Hill Farmstead and Suarez Family, so a craft beer lover will survive quite nicely here. A food lover will be in heaven. Very meat-forward as well, but there are usually at least one or two veggie dishes. Unexpectedly for a James Beard sort of place they're very friendly and down to earth. Winner.“

“Very long bar in a bookstore, and I came for the beer. A dozen op tap plus two dozen cans, and this includes some local ciders. Beers are pretty good, from around the country. Friendly service. No food, but you're surrounded by restaurants, some of which deliver here. No flights either, just pints. Worth a look“

“This place distills its own bourbon, whiskey, vodka and has great burgers. Luckily for me, they also have 10 different ciders on tap and a bunch of beer, all local. Service is quick and efficient. Local beers were from Hudson Brewing, Chatham Brewing and Return BrewinG (which isn't even open yet). Food is good, portions aren't so big. Worth a look if something interesting is pouring.“

“The patio is the place to eat, if there's a table, pleasant surroundings and amazing food. None of the dozen beers is from farther away than Allagash. Two different local cideries represented. Solid choices.“

“Not a beer place per say, but with four taps of local NY beers this made a great lunch stop. Very creative and tasty sandwiches, although they're a bit pricey. Nice outdoor picnic area under some trees in good weather, and in the former house's former garage in bad. Small grocery selection as well. Convenient and worthwhile stop.“

“A short walk from the Amtrak station, on the scruffy side of town. Plenty of parking. Outside of the building is nondescript and modern industrial. Inside looks like an old auto mechanic's place, but in reality it started life a a furniture factory. So well done decorating. Long bar, lots of stools, mixed bar tables and restaurant tables. Brewhouse visible through glass behind he bar. Large garage door that opens in good weather, plus a large outdoor area where you watch (and hear!) the trains roll by. Permanent food truck. Lucky 13 taps with flights of four available, and staff were generous with samples. Beers need work, and since they've been open for six years, they don't have much of an excuse. Still, a nice friendly location to hang out, just drink something else.“

“Pretty decent brewery taproom. Big space, loads of seating both inside and out. Good range on keg, around 20 beers or so. Some more stuff in the fridge, presumably for takeaway. Flights of four beers available. Pretty good value. The quality of the beers is OK, average to slightly above average. Friendly service. Definitely worth a visit if you’re visiting Hudson.“

“A great spot. Probably the best place in town for a variety of beer. This place is literally a bar within a book shop. It works. They had a solid range on keg, around a dozen beers and ciders, plus another 10+ in cans. Good prices. Friendly enough service. Convenient location, right there on the Main Street in the centre of town. A must-visit if you’re in Hudson.“

“Great little farm brewery with hipbones growing outside the small barn that contains a pretty small but nice tasting room. Nice outdoor space as well. Solid beers, not a huge selection but they are good. Feels very out in the country and the brewery is the barn of their house. Unique rustic brewery that feels like you are hanging out in the country with friends. Worthy stop.“

“I reached the place, ninth on my inventory for trip, after driving through a very picturesque and narrow road through a forest, thinking every minute that I was probably lost and the mighty Google had erred, late afternoon on Sunday. There were only one couple from Virginia, on a beer trail like me, and the owner. Four beers on tap and also available as bottles. Bought bottles for three and tried the fourth, which was a wheat ale, and quite fine. There were a few tables, deck chairs, and a barbecue on one side, but not in use, probably due to it’s being almost Sunday evening. Quite a nice and relaxing place to visit.“

“Arrived a little after opening on a Sunday in early June. Erik, the owner was still getting set up for the day. Super friendly guy. This is brewery is essentially a one person operation. Well, I think he’s got some part time employees, but this is his gig. Located on a gorgeous chunk of land, which is up a good bit of dirt road. You walk past some nice hop plants growing as you make your way up to a greyed wooden building that looks like it has been converted from a multi car garage. Small tap room currently though the expansion is looking to change some of that. Four beers on that day, and everything was clean and well made. A couple of beers which are nice intro beers for locals who may not be super into craft, and then an old school English style IPA, and then a more modern hazy New England style one. He’s making really nice beer and I’d love to see him get some more recognition for them. Located about midway between Sloop/Suarez and Chatham. Worth a quick visit if you can manage it.“

“Initially tough to find as Google had not updated their location pin for the tasting room (which used to be right across the street from the train station), to reflect that they’re a block down, but that has now been corrected. Although I should have likely noticed when I was walking on the main strip there that the words HUDSON BREWING were written in big blue letters on the huge white warehouse where they are housed. Sometimes I am not a smart man. A small crowd but not crowded, on a Saturday in early June. Must have been getting ready for a parade or something in the town, as parking everywhere was a bit of a mess, and four of the bar patrons were in their band uniforms, and I passed someone with a horn, and a few drummers on the walk over as well. Nine of their own beers on tap, as well as a cider. Pints are $6 (and I’d hope the 11.5% imperial stout came in a smaller pour), and flights of four for $10. Tasting room itself is a walled off portion of the warehouse proper, and glass behind the bar allows a glimpse into the brewery. No food here, aside from the snack sized bags of chips you’d get for your lunch sack. Beers were all clean and well executed, though none really blew me away. But they were all good solid beers. Server was super friendly, and all of the patrons seemed happy and sociable. Not necessarily a destination place, but worthy of a visit if you’re passing through the area, as you can visit them and Crossroads on the other side of the river easily enough via a ferry ride, or a quick 10-15 minute drive. Or head southeast and get to Suarez and Sloop (~15/20 minutes).“

“Place rating #450. Nice little spot located right by the train station. Seems like more of a local hangout than a beer nerd destination, which is nice. Bartender was a freindly fellow. Beers were solid, but not amazing. Worth a stop if you are in the area, but not a beer destination in itself.“

“Stopped in again today after a decent session of haggling at the local hardware store. 12 on tap. Mostly from NY. Hudson draws an eclectic crowd. Today it was Hipsters complaining about the cold. I like this place since its QUIET! Great beers on tap. Easy and relaxed. home made cookies are evidently quite popular with the stoned crowd.“

“Stopped in here on the way to MA to go to the Norman Rockwell Museum. I wish that any of the bookstores near me were this place instead. Small cozy independent bookstore feel...with a bar that serves local craft beer. 8 taps, coffee, scones, baked goods and tasty cheese plates supplied to order from a cheese shop two doors down. The relaxed vibe, friendly staff, and lovely wood work on the ceilings were great. Nothing mind boggling in terms of beer, but there were four locals I hadn’t tried and we paired those up with some awesome cheeses. For the location and concept, this place is excellent.“

“I am really surprised this is not on the site already. The establishment has been around for a while and carry some things on tap that are very difficult to come by. I guess thats what happens when you are in upstate NY.Its an easy stop off the Thruway on your way to Albany. Hudson is a nice little city and this place sits on the main street with main other shops. And yes this is a bookstore with a bar and also sells paint supplies. What makes it special is it fills growlers from difficult to find breweries. For example, they seems to always have a few taps from the Albany Pump station, which is a brewpub. I went specifically for Chatham beers which they seem to keep at least 2 on of all times. Plus a few more. Its a converted old firehouse, looks cool, I like books as well. Food wise there were cheese plates and snacks, did not eat but seemed nice. Very recommended stop for growlers of upstate beer. NOTE: bring your own glass, they only sell flip tops and its overpriced. Otherwise a fill cost me 11 bucks. “
