| 76 /100 Islip Cold Beer Distributor (Beer Store) 175 GRANT AVE “This gem hidden at the corner of Moffitt and Grant has a terrific selection of American micros crammed into a somewhat small building. Their selection of imported microbrews isn’t that big but if you’re into American brews as I am, this is the place for you. Lots of usual suspects there (Stone, Brooklyn, Lagunitas, Weyerbacher, Sierra Nevada) as well as many harder-to-come-by brews (Southern Tier, Blue Point, Legacy, Keegan, Smuttynose, Long Trail... the list goes on). Reasonable prices, friendly staff that’s eager to help out and also quick to chat you up if they see you buying something they like. All that combined with it being some 5 minutes from my house makes it my favorite everyday beer distro. One won’t mistake Islip for American Beer or Half Time, but considering the great selection they squeeze into that little place, you should visit and expect to be pleasantly surprised.“ |
