“Visited in the weekend. Very small hut-like taproom with a veranda, plastic cups, 12-13 beers on tap, 6 cans on sale, no food. The small town is like a vacation village and the taproom fits the decorum. You shouldn’t miss if you’re around. The beer is not bad either.“

“Really wanted to like this place but it is just a huge dissapointment. I went in for a vial of White Lab’s yeast and was astonished to see a $10 tag. I understand they are in a high rent spot but 10 bucks seems like a rip off when they usually cost $6. When it comes to bottled beer they clealy don’t have any knowledge of beer quality. All of the beer is unrefrigerated and has no price on it. A 2 month old IPA sitting on a warm shelf, no thanks! I’d rather go to a place that treats their beer right and keeps hoppy beer cold. Plus I’d like to know what I’m going to pay without asking anyone. I feel that if you are going to charge top dollar then the beer should be treated better. Also, homebrewing should be an afforable and seeing $10 for a vial of yeast is a real shame.“

“Nice looking place inside a mall in a touristy area. The place is clean, well lit, and the bottles are marked with the prices. The prices are pretty reasonable. The owner is a true beer geek, and loves to talk beer with any customer who walks in and strikes up a converation with him. Decent selection, nothing especially rare, but good overall. he showcases certain local nanobreweries in his store. Definitely worth a stop.“

“TINY brewpub right in this exclusive village. The tasting room is small. It’s $% to try each of their 5 taps, and then $15 to $20 to take home a growler. The bombers are about $8 or $9. It’s a clean and attractive room, with a window viiew into their brewing tanks. The service is attentive. Their beers are usually serviceable, and some are actually good. The place is a bit touristy, given where it is. Not bad value for waht they offer. Decent overall. Worth a stop if you’re in town.“

“Small shop set back inside a small indoor mall in downtown Port Jefferson - this is less of a beer store and more of a beer nerd trading post - they have single bottles (12 ounces, bombers, 750s) for sale - mostly some local and/or fairly common stuff - not a bad little spread - however, then there is the owners "stash" - lots of rare beers that are not distributed in New York (Cascade, Jester King, Russian River, Upland, rare Cantillons) are prominently displayed on the shelves - there are even some Dark Lords lurking about - it is my understanding that these beers are not "for sale," but you can "trade" for them - basically, if the ratebeer trade forums was turned into a store, it would look like this - what gets me is that the owner even came out and stated that he has no interest in actually drinking most of the rare beers - he was only interested in their "trade value" - his words - I feel like I should love a store that has a bunch of rare beer laying around, but I don’t - to me, this store kind of exemplifies the segments of the craft beer world that I have come to hate (primarily interested in whales, all about acquiring beer for it’s perceived value) - while it’s cool to see the beers this guy has, in the end, there is something about this place that doesn’t sit right with me - the owner was super nice and liked to talk beer, but...“

“It should be noted that this is not a brewery that you can come to for some pints - it is a brewery tasting room in the strictest sense of the word - you can get tasters or purchase growlers - that’s it - there is a small tap room with no seats - the whole place seems designed to get you in and out - this is a shame because the location in great - set back from the street in the downtown Port Jefferson area - the good thing is that the beers are excellent - for the most part, the selection of styles is fairly ho hum, but the quality of the offerings makes up for this (they’ll make younremember why you loved porters and ipas in the first place) - the staff was personable and treated us well - if they turned this into a proper tap room, it would be awesome - if you can find their beer, try it, but don’t make a special trip here - if you happen to be nearby, though, you should definitely pop in.“

“Place has a decent crafts selection, but its overpriced, being in a bit of a touristy area in the harbor square mall. Tons of bottles and mixer-6s but I’ve never seen anything hard to find or rare there. For my money, I’d recommend going down by the train station to Port Jeff Beverage for a better selection and better prices.“

“Not too many breweries in the NY area do free tastings anymore. But anyone is welcome here for free tastings of all 6 or so beers they have up at any given time. Bartenders are not, though not seem not completely knowledgeable about the product their pouring. But that’s ok... The place is a tiny brewpub that, from what I’ve heard, PJBC has already outgrown. Tasty beer, PJ Porter is particularly good. The locations is great, a little bit off the well-beaten path. I imagine it gets quite crowded in the summer.“

“Come here for the cheese, stay for the beer. About 7 rotating taps with mostly local beer; Port Jeff, RPAB, Spider Bite, Blue Point, etc. Not a huge selection but stuff you might not see in lesser places. The cheese is fantastic, well paired and reasonably priced. Haven’t had any of the small plates, but they all look good too. The ambiance is fantastic, a class above most Port Jeff bar spots. The service is great, the staff really know their cheese and are friendly and full of advice and knowledge.“

“This place is a hidden gem! Located down in Port Jefferson Harbor at the Harbor Square Mall. They are definitely one of the best brew supply stores on Long Island. Staff is very knowledgeable and courteous. As for beer selection, they only have GOOD stuff. If you are looking for Budweiser you are in the wrong place. You can even create your own 6 pack which many beer stores don’t allow. Will be frequently visiting this fine establishment much in the future! --- Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone“
