“Nice little craft beer bar in Vestal, NY. The food was typical bar food - pizza and sandwiches. I had the ribeye sandwich. Very good. I will definitely return the next time I am in the area.“

“Exceptional selection, always changing, great bartenders who assist the new beer connoisseur. The pizza is fantastic! The new specials are a welcome addition too.“

In Short: The Ale House is the best bar within a short distance outside of Binghamton. It has its flaws, but it’s a worthy stop for the variety of beers they have and the pizza.

Ambiance: Small and cramped, but warm at the same time. Unfortunately it’s near impossible to see the beer list if you’re not at the bar and there are no beer menus. The beer menu isn’t up to date anyway, their Beermenus site was more current and it was updated 2 days prior, meaning they hadn’t changed it in over 2 days.

Service: There was a female bartender who seemed uninterested in the beer, why work at a craft bar if you’re not interested in beer? She also seemed bothered to help us. Poor service, but not enough to deter me from coming again.

Selection: The selection was varied with seasonals and non. Something for everyone here when I went.

Food: I got a buffalo chicken pizza and I enjoyed it a lot. Well done and cooked to order.

Value: $5 pints during happy hour, which is a good value. The pizza wasn’t too pricey either.

Overall: The service really bothered me the most here. It wasn’t awful, but I hate feeling like I’m bothering someone. The people there were nice though and I recommend visiting here if you’re in the area.“

“The only way to get a beer is to go to the bar. Over priced for the area.“

“My wife booked a hotel for us in Vestal NY not knowing it was across the street from the Ale House, well I had to check it out right? I will start off and say this place is small. You walk in the front door and there are maybe 8 tables against the left side of the wall and a bar with 10 stools off to the right. Bathrooms against the back left and a small kitchen against the back right. I went there around 8pm on a Friday and sat at the bar. The place was fairly slow but became moderately busy by 10pm when I left. 36 taps and only one or two were macros. They had some bottles, but I focused on the taps. I didn’t have any food, but what I saw looked good. While the taps are solid this place is a bit pricy. Just about everything that I saw ordered was 6 dollars a pint. I would go back, maybe during happy hour.“

“The Ale house is the only beer joint in the Binghamton area, and that’s about the only thing this place has going for it. You can find some well known craft brews on tap by victory and dogfish head. They also have standard stuff like Guinness and Sierra Nevada. The ale house is very small and can get very busy since it is right across the street from Binghamton University. The service can often be slow, and good luck finding a seat let alone room at the bar if you stop in on a busy night. My girlfriend thinks it is overpriced.“
