80 /100 90 EAST ST 12 taps, which includes 3 guest taps. $2/4oz: gotta love rural NC brewery prices. Awesome friendly staff. Cool location in downtown Pittsboro. High recommendation if you are in the area. 4.2 |
86 /100 580 Craft Beer (Beer Store) 354 EAST ST Wow. This place is awesome. 16 beers on tap: mostly easy drinking IPA like styles. Huge selection (200-500) of cans and some bottles. Wide range of styles. Attractive staff and clientele. Pool table in the back. Great place to hang out. |
88 /100 House of Hops (Beer Store) 112 RUSSET RUN UNIT 110 Wow. This place is super cool. High ceilings. Huge 24 taps with all micro breweries, mostly local. Huge can selection (200-500?) 66% warm on shelf ( watch out hazies), and 33% cold behind counter. Large variety of styles including barrel aged and sour beers. Highly recommended. Great NC prices. |
72 /100 BMC (Bite My Cookies) (Bar) 213 LORAX LN Cool nano brewery in Pittsboro, NC. Maybe a dozen beers on tap, and a dozen individual cans to go. One barrel aged beer on tap. Rest are an eclectic mixture of easy drinking styles, including hazys, and one sour. $3/5oz. Recommended if you are in the area. |
60 /100 120 LOWES DR More restaurant than brewery, but I like it. Many people ordering breakfast on a Sunday morning. 5 taps of easy drinking styles. I ordered 1 12oz can to go for $4. |
78 /100 Chatham Marketplace (Grocery Store) 480 HILLSBORO STREET/ U.S. 15-501N I agree with Turd Fergerson, even with his rating being 16 years old. Two beer sections: large section with 6 packs, and a small section with lots of awesome local single cans in the fridge. Very nice. Food selection is also very good. Nice location in downtown Pittsboro. Recommended if you are in the area. |
78 /100 480 HILLSBORO ST SUITE 1000 Right next to a former mill, although they are moving to a larger location just up the road in a few weeks time. L-shaped counter, lots of bottles and a few chairs, sparse surrounding. Fermenters visible in an interior room. A whopping 21 different meads available, and you choose eight to sample. The range varies widely from plain hone, both sweet and dry, to metheglins, one spiced cyser, etc, etc. Meads are tasty with a handful of really tasty ones. Worth a visit. |
68 /100 120 LOWES DR Stopped by here a few hours before a wedding about 10 minutes away from here at the Fearrington Inn. Pulled into the strip shopping center near the Lowes, and was actually shocked to see the brewing equipment inside, it doesn’t look like it from the outside. 6 dollar full flight of ~7 beers, which is pretty good if you ask me. Didn’t eat, but looked like typical pub grub/sports bar food. Number of growlers to go, plus a few options that weren’t available on tap, but you could take with you - I almost got one but didn’t have anywhere to put it since it was refrigerated. Place was clean, staff was nice, though bartender was not helpful in regards to beer selection, "I don’t like or drink beer." Classy. |
52 /100 120 LOWES DR Came here for lunch (with beers!) while working at cellz direct a handful of times. Food was okay, beer was the same as chapel hill, just okay. Sad more than anything. |
68 /100 480 HILLSBORO ST SUITE 1000 Located behind the building that Chatham St Market is in, you loop around the back side of the old mill and find a stand alone structure that the meadery is in. square building with a section that’s walled off that houses the mead production area. then the rest which displays some pottery and gift items. Counter where they sample the meads, give you a sample of each flavor they have and a wine glass you get to keep for 5 bucks. they say tour times, but not alot to see, Nice friendly people, interesting meads, I’m not into meads enough to know how to judge them. not that far from Carolina Brewery Pittsboro so you can hit both of them if it strikes you....bottles of mead range from 15 to 25 bucks |
98 /100 120 LOWES DR Love this place! Excellent pub style food that pairs well with the fresh draft beer! |
64 /100 120 LOWES DR Handy from Rt 64 it is in a new building located next to a Lowe’s home improvement store. Sort of an backwards L shaped space. As you walk in the bar is on left with brewery equipment behind it. Restaurant section on right with an upstairs section of the same size as downstairs. Bar can seat like 20 - 25 people with another another 8 seat table, 6 booths and 4 table all in that section. 3 TV’s. Brewery is behind glass. Same core food menu as Chapel Hill, though I don’t know if each chef gets to have different seasonal items. Attached to it is the Hop Shop whick sells breakfast items, coffee, tea egg sandwiches, pastry. Brewery Souveniers are there too. Nice place overall. Seems a tad quiet there, but that should change as they fill the rest of the business in the building and the area grows. They have bands play some times. Not quite the character of the Chapel Hill location, but a welcome edition to the beer scene nonethe less |
74 /100 Chatham Marketplace (Grocery Store) 480 HILLSBORO STREET/ U.S. 15-501N Im so happy this place is adjacent to the building I work in. The food here is truly some of the best I have ever eaten and I am a foodie as much as a beer geek. But on to the beer: There selection is small but growing (I will make sure of that). Almost all the Great Divide and Duck Rabbit Lineups. A couple different 6ers from Wolavers. Chimay Red and Blue in big bottles. Just got in some Tripel Karmaliet and Kwak glass gift sets too. |
