Walland Beer Guide: Your Walland guide to beer, beer bars, breweries and brewpubs

“This rating is for the actual brewery, which is in Maryville. The farm itself is amid gorgeous countryside far-ish away, but they don’t brew there anymore (it was a tiny facility, basically just a big shed / small brick/concrete barn), and you can’t even visit the farm itself (or even get out of your car!) without reservations (which are staggeringly expensive). But, the good news is you CAN visit the actual brewery in Maryville (on Everett Ave, in between Broadway and Harper), although you may need to call first and make sure they have time to show you the place. No tasting room (at least as of one year ago), and no on-site sales either (again, as of Nov 2015), but if you’re a huge fanboy like myself and just want to *see* where they make their nectar, and meet some of the brewers, well, you can probably do so. Super nice folks (especially Roy Milner, who acted as my guide of sorts...extraordinarily kind and generous fellow), but please be courteous yourself if indeed they still don’t have a walk-in sort of presence yet. Call ahead, ask if it’s ok. If you just want to buy bottles, then go to some of the better stores in town instead. But yeah, as some may tire of me saying, these guys are making the most authentic Belgian-style (not American-style) saisons in the US, and their best ones compete with the best in Belgium...there is no other American brewery I can say that about at this time.“
