“Located at the ground floor of a Sokos building right in the central part of Joensuu. A quite large and airy Alko store with a well arranged beer section at the rear. About 140 different bottles, some interesting ones from Finnish breweries like Bryggeri Helsinki and Stadin. Surprisingly friendly and knowledgeable staff. It is well worth checking out the beer range at the S-Market near-by, I found three Kiteen Pajari bottles at the shelves (visited 15.08.2014).“

“For sure the top place for craft beers in this Karelian town in eastern Finland. There is about 100 bottles to choose from, some of them from Finnish and Swedish micros in addition to breweries like Evil Twin, Lervig, Chimay, La Trappe, BrewDog, Founders and so one (see the beer menu, Olutesittelyt, at their website). 10 taps, some of them rotating. Good selection of malt whisky as well. Inviting retro interior on two floors decorated with jukebox, paintings and book shelves, and consistently playing pop, blues, soul, and rock from the 1960s. A little backyard patio on the right hand of the entrance. Barmaids were friendly and knowledgeable. One of them told me that the pub was opened in February 2014 and soon will establish some connection with the pub on the Elina river boat. A really good banter (visited 14th and 16th August 2014).“
