K-Citymarket Vaasa (Grocery Store)

“While hypermarkets often are located outside city centres, Vaasa K-Citymarket is centrally. Rich selection of beers. Good beerspot. “

“Visited april 14th. Good parking, as normally for Prisma hypermarkets. Decent bottle selection, and if abv 5.5 limit is not good enough, there is an Alko situated here as well.“

“Visited april 14th. Good parking, as it is connected with Prisma hypermarket. Decent bottle selection, especially finnish ones.“

“Visited last summer and april 14th this year. With 250 or more beers, it is quite good for a city as Vaasa. In addition Prisma has two hundred below 5.55%abv. Vapenbrödrabyn is the swedish name of this spot.“

“Alko Stenhaga the swedish name. Visited on my way to Vaasa. Out of stock for the local I wanted, but they recommended Alko in a Prisma nearby or Alko downtown. Not huge beer selection just here. April 14.2022.“

“A hut in the street, Hovioikeudenpuistikko 17, by a square. Modern exterior, easygoing interior, lots of bottles above the curtains. Certainly a beerspot. Bottles are more interesting than the macro-ish taps. Met oh6ghx there.“

“This is actually Summer restaurant (open till the end of August) in the Vaskiluoto island next to Vaasa city. But it is also a location of NP Brewers brewhouse. So restaurant serves buffet-type tasty lunch and a la carte in the evenings. Half dozen or so NP beers on tap. Patio has nice scenery. If you somehow miss Gustav Wasa, this is a place for nice food and NP Brewery ticks.“

“A bit part of which used to be S-Chain's Public Corner bar. Steam punk themed airy pub with some food and more drinks. Few Maistilas on tap plus few interesting bottle. The worth of checking, also ex-Public Corner-side may have different beers than street side bar, but they open later. Serves some pub food like sub and burger. Kind of clinic S-chain vibe.“

“Like name says, small pub on one side of the Vaasa market place. Lots of light (walls are glass) and wood, Popular among the youth but thanks for location, all kind of customers. Small but interesting enough selection for Vaasa. Has some Finnish micros on tap and bottle.“

“Large airy German style beer hall. Brewpub serving Bock’s beers. Always some at least some 6-7 available. Beers are not particulary good but drinkable. Food is quite ok. Place itself is a bit out of city centre.“

“Nice combination of a bit upscale restaurant (voted for TOP50 restaurants in Finland) and cosy place to go just for beer. Darkish cellar restaurant with wood and stone, relaxed ambiance. More or less Finnish microbrews on taps and bottles. Nowadays this is a kind of NP Brewers home tap so their beers have taken over the most of taps. On bottle many Finnish micros and ones you don’t get anywhere else in Vaasa. Friendly service.“

“Visited one Sunday afternoon in July 2016. Easy to spot as the brewery symbol is already out there on the roundabout with a big logo on the building just behind. Spacious with many seating options: Patio, long tables, barrels with chairs, sofa corners, etc. 7-8 beers on tap, including the core range, seasonal specials and their cider. Beers come in 2dl and 4dl glasses, no flights or tasters available, would have preferred that. Prices are okay, with ~4 Euro for a small glass and ~6-7 Euro for a large one. Food is available, but I didn’t have any. The quality of the beer is decent, yet not particularly interesting to the experienced beer nerd. Anyway, in a region where craft is not widely spread and local brews hard to come by, a place like Bock’s is a welcome opportunity to get more people into craft beer.“

“A very pleasant and cosy restaurant in a cellar with several cabinets as well, making it rather spacy, even though getting crowded every now and then. Foodwise there’s "snapas" which basically are small snacks to have along with the beers as well as some more fine dining oriented dishes. Service is always friendly, although at times a bit slow. Drinkwise the focus is on Finnish small producers, both beers and ciders. There is some rotation on the selection, and occasionally some positive surprises on tap. The beer/cider prices are pretty much like elsewhere.“
