76 /100 13010 W PARMER LANE, STE 800 I was on a personal trip to the Austin area and found time to stop at Red Horn. It is located in an upscale strip mall setup and holds down a corner of that. Stepping inside the door I noticed the coffee smell and that is due to their roasting their own coffee beans for the coffee they serve, mostly during the day I assume. Located on the far side is a small bar area that has around 30 taps, the majority being Red Horn's own brews but also a handful from other breweries. Their website indicated an imperial stout available from an interesting brewery in San Antonio. Unfortunately it was not available so I took another imperial stout from a Minnesota brewery, an okay substitution. I later had one of their own, a Belgian ale, that was credible. The service was prompt, the employees were courteous and I had a friendly conversation with a regular to the bar, who said he liked having a neighborhood brewery. Plenty of room inside and a pleasant, covered area out front to enjoy a beer when the weather cooperates. |
64 /100 Total Wine- Lakeline (Austin) (Beer Store) 11066 PECAN PARK BLVD STE 117 This Total Wine was close to my hotel on a recent trip to the Austin area. Like all Total Wines, you cannot be sure what you might find. Well, I did locate a considerable number of IPAs, mostly from Texas including one brewed at Jester King. That was good. I saw few imperial stouts or Belgian ales which are my preferred styles. That was not good. The selection at the south Austin is better. At most Total Wines, they tend to leave you to your own, no complaint with that and the prices for singles are moderate. |
76 /100 Total Wine- Lakeline (Austin) (Beer Store) 11066 PECAN PARK BLVD STE 117 Look, it's a big damn corporate store. You can get help if you go looking for it, but it's kind of impersonal. I go here for the selection -- an aisle and a half of singles, all the white whales you can hunt, and good prices. That's what it's here for, that's what I'm here for. |
80 /100 The Dig Pub (Bar) 401 CYPRESS CREEK Friend took me to this (for me) out of the way pub because the had Founders Breakfast Stout and a coffee mug give away. Enjoyed the spot. Pretty busy little pub for a Wed. @ 5;00. Had a as for now brand new Real Ale tap only IPA - their Apix before the stout. I had no food, but the guy next to me ordered a sandwich and it looked like it was served with house made chips. He gobbled it down and it looked good.
30 taps that were all pretty damn decent to great. I would certainly go back if it was closer or someone else was driving like today. |
80 /100 Total Wine- Lakeline (Austin) (Beer Store) 11066 PECAN PARK BLVD STE 117 Liquor store in a shopping plaza- good thing I went 1st thing in the morning. Enough wine to choke a horse, and they have spirits too. Beer? Yep, have that. It’s nice because you can purchase singles here. How much is the single selection? One full isle and a half- NICE. Service- was asked if I needed help several times, but once was nice, 2+ is bothersome. Food- NA, make it yourself for less, HESleaze is right around the corner. Price- standard high low. Selection- saw ALOT of items that I thought were long gone from town. Then again, I hadn’t been beer shopping in awhile so... just wish I had time to come back many times over, but the budget and time don’t really allow much of that lately. |
86 /100 Total Wine- Lakeline (Austin) (Beer Store) 11066 PECAN PARK BLVD STE 117 Largest selection of singles I have ever seen. Overall selection comparable to anything local. Did not inquire about kegs. Prices are hit and miss, some good, some not so much. Worth looking at for the singles alone. |
82 /100 13010 W PARMER LANE, STE 800 I really enjoyed this place. I rarely get a sampler tray, but opted for one this time as it was my first time there and Cedar Park is a bit of a distance from Austin. Glad I did and enjoyed them all. One was not so great, but so it goes. The rest were quite enjoyable to very good. The crew there was initially a bit shy, but very attentive and when engaged in conversation wound up being quite pleasant or perhaps even awesome.
Very enjoyable and the tap list included Stone, many Austin and regional beers, To Ol, Boulevard and others. Color me impressed. And if you like coffee, pretty certain they would know how to make it as the coffee stout was fine.

74 /100 The Dig Pub (Bar) 401 CYPRESS CREEK Great little pub in Cedar Park. Cons: No greeter at the door and the selection of bottled beer is pretty sparse. Pros: GREAT food (the beer cheese is the best I’ve ever had), good selection of tap beer, great atmosphere, and a nice, mixed crowd. We’re going back. Often. |
80 /100 Hamricks Market (Beer Store) 401 CYPRESS CREEK RD, #100 Since I work for a beer retailer, this place counts as a worthy competitor. As a person and beer geek, I just love the place. Great selection, very knowledgeable staff, and utterly without pretension. My new favorite place that doesn’t pay my salary. |
84 /100 Hamricks Market (Beer Store) 401 CYPRESS CREEK RD, #100 I had little hope from this place from the outset- small store front, strip mall location, in Sleazy Park, ERRR, Cedar Park. But I went inside I learned yet again to never judge a book by it’s cover. It’s kind of a blur (and I was just there an hour ago!) but they had three coolers to the right where you could make your own 6’er, along with 6-8 cooler in front of you. All craft beer. And displays of craft beer. And only one cooler reserved for BMC, ha! They are OPEN on Sunday’s- thank goodness for that, since I will no longer have to shove it out with the unwashed masses at H.E.Sleaze to grab the last 6’er of Shiner; to get around that, they are a smoke shop (at least I’m assuming) in the guise of a good beer store. I never included this in a rating, but they keep up to date on FB regarding what they just recieved and ready for sale, which does help with seeing what I would like to purchase. Overall- they were a tad pricey on a few items, but they had just a TON of product... and the selection over all is, dare I say it, bigger than the Spec’s across the road from me! |
70 /100 Hamricks Market (Beer Store) 401 CYPRESS CREEK RD, #100 Oddly named vapor solutions above the door, pretty good selection , not huge but had a few Belgians I haven’t seen before, also a decent singles selection |
100 /100 Hamricks Market (Beer Store) 401 CYPRESS CREEK RD, #100 Great selection! Personal service is top notch. Definitely a place to check out in the Austin, TX area. |
54 /100 Taps Pub (Bar) 2011 LITTLE ELM TRAIL I had a bad experience here. The waitress tried to charge us $54 dollars for 2 pints and a small order of fries which took 50minutes to be delivered. I told the girl this was not right she said yes it was. Luckily the owner was on site and I was able to rectify it with him and he apologies and said the was an error in the system and he was working on getting it fixed. The atmosphere was harsh. A bunch of bright fluorescent lights which reminded me of a supermarket setting. I’ve heard it has become better. I may try this place again. The beers they have are some locals but they have to make room for there national BMC beers. Do not come here expecting all the area’s offerings. The y have a couple live oak taps and a couple of real ale taps, but are lacking (512) and independence taps. |
84 /100 The Dig Pub (Bar) 401 CYPRESS CREEK This is the only tru craft beer bar in cedar park. Todd the owner is a genuinely nice guy and loves to try new beers. Do not come here expecting a BMC beer you will not find it. The 28+ taps include stone, live oak, (512), Avery, southern star, and many other great craft beers. The food is sandwiches, cheeses, pretzels and so forth. The have weekly live music, and a great happy hour. The place is a little small and gets crowded for happy hour. |
74 /100 The Dig Pub (Bar) 401 CYPRESS CREEK Stopped by on an early Sunday afternoon. Bartender was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Draught selection was impressive. Would like to see how service/ambiance is on a busy weekend night. Will definitely stop by again. |
72 /100 The Dig Pub (Bar) 401 CYPRESS CREEK Newer beer bar in Cedar Park TX. Clean, crisp inside. About 30 taps featuring most Texas micros and some mainstream national micros-Stone, Dogfish, New Belgium, North Coast, Full Sail, Avery among others. I would like something like this near my house-I’m jealous...Need some help on the bottled selection.. |
