“At one time this place had the best beer selection on tap in Midland/Odessa. Still pretty good. Resurrected from the pandemic, it is trying to get going again. The selection is towards the lower end of challenging beers, they are served cold and that is good during the west Texas summer. Covered seating, picnic tables and dog friendly. A nice owner, a knowledgeable staff and dog friendly, did I say that before?“

“The location of this brewery/taproom is in an industrial part of south Midland. I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed each visit. Service is friendly and the beer selection is not bad. Definitely a laid-back vibe here.“

“I only recently learned about this place. It is claimed that it has over 500 different beers to select from. Perhaps so. But I will say that it does have an extensive selection of craft beers from all over. The arranging of the beers is a bit peculiar but I hear the owner intends to expand his product display. A husband and wife operation, they are super nice.“

“Although this bar/restaurant has been open for over a year, I made my first visit here recently. This location has been a number of establishments over the years, but it appears this one might stick. The number of taps available is heartening although I did not see anything that was high level. From photos I have seen Abyss has been offered before. They do highlight local beers specifically and Texas beers generally, a good thing. We sampled a couple of Texas beers each which were cold, a good thing too. The patio is quite nice and happy hour had a decent crowd. Not the cheapest place to drink a beer but I'm glad it is around.“

“I attended Tall City's grand opening last Friday. For their first day they were keeping up with the customers best they could. Apparently it was swamped later in the evening. A first class facility, looks like no expense was spared. The tap choice was slim and not exactly challenging. Hopefully that evolves as time goes on. Wish them success. Here it is a few years later, new beers have been added including a barley wine and a quadrupel. A nice, big patio with plenty of families and dogs in attendance. My estimation has gone up.“

“The Wine Rack had its run. Under original ownership it offered a very good selection of take home, craft beer. Later management steered it towards being a bar. Down a notch with that but it did have occasional interesting offerings on tap. I recall having Kwak poured for me there. But then it declined and went away. Unfortunate.“

“For the area, it’s not bad. Appears to be popular with local wine snobs. One side is a wine and beer bar where you can also purchase bottles to go or drink on site. The other is a good restaurant. Food is decent but overpriced. Service is run by twenty-something’s that will provide decent service once their done goofing off. If you want Big Bend beer, this is the place to go.“

Grub Burger Bar (Restaurant)

“Good burgers and nice atmosphere. In a town with very limited beer options, this is a good option. 30% of the taps are filled with stuff you can anywhere.“
