“Fantastisches BBQ Restaurant nahe Austin. Für mich das beste Fleisch in Texas. Bier gibts direkt keines, darf man sich aber von neben an mitbringen. Unbedingt vorbei schauen!“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30 PM. Seems like this was a great time, because by the time we were ready to go, the place had went from about a quarter full, to three quarters full. When you walk in, you are walking in between the smoke pit on the right, and the bar on the left. They had predominantly local craft beers on tap with items from Saint Arnold, Real Ale, and Live Oak, plus some others I didn’t recognize from afar. They didn’t have a draft list readily available, at least not that I could find. The main focus of this place is barbecue, not beer, so I could see why they wouldn’t have a draft list, but with the quality they are offering, I think they should consider it. The food here was excellent. I had the rancher, which included smoked turkey, brisket, sausage, and pork ribs for meat, potato salad, cole slaw, and beans. All of it was great. My only wish is that I could have ate here more than once! Service was attentive and kept our drinks full. Knowledgeable of the food and the beer. This place is highly recommended for food, but there is probably a better spot closeby that has a better beer selection.“

“Visited late afternoon on a Thursday. Movie theater in a shopping center, large parking lot as expected. As you enter, relatively small and simple lobby with Movie tickets, food and snacks straight ahead with the decent sized bar to the right. Bar is bigger, about 15 seats and a couple of bar tables nearby. Draft selection was 6 regular house, 6 house specials in a range of styles. The stout I had was good. Additionally, 38 well chosen guests are available. The bartender was super cool, spent a lot of time explaining the beers and the Flix story. Pours available are pints, pitchers and growlers to go. The brew system is visible in front window. My pint was only $3.25,must have been happy hour - normal price listed was $4.50, either way great deal for a movie theater. RIP Walt, we still miss you.

76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“Well it’s a store, a big store. But they have a huge beer alley, and for a non-US it’s mindboggling. On top they let you make your own 6-pack. Great.“

“One barrel tap house in a 1000 s.f. commercial building. Fantastic beer. Friendly. Food truck on site during taproom hours. This place is a must see.“

“A cinema slash brewpub? I had to visit that. And frankly, if it wasn’t for the clearly-visible-from-the-outside brewhouse, I would jus tmistake it as a general cinema with recent releases. However, the large amount of taps already hints at the service aspect. In it’s way this is unique, but even as a bar its pretty good, with a great selection of local and national beers, with good brewhouse specials and a very friendly and caring bar tender to help you out. I only tried the saison and only sour and they were great. The Saison de Walt is really well made, very surprised about that one. The food was surprisingly tasty too and reasonably priced. The entrance is a bit clinical, they can work on that. Looking to catch a movie in Austin? There is only one place to go!“

“Very interesting place, with no equivalent to it in CA. Easy parking (sort of mall parking type feel. Large entry lobby with a bar and a few tables. Tiny little PUB brewhouse. Friendly people and a great selection of both house beers and a large selection of guest taps. I’m sad I never made it out while Walt was still in charge.“

“Even though I have never seen a movie here, this is one of my favorite places in the Austin area. Located right off I-35, there is no reason not to stop here on your way in or out of town. 10 house beers are on tap at most/all times and there is a great guest tap selection of local and non-local craft beers. They fill growlers of their house beers, not sure about the guest taps. Beers range from average to very good, with a wide range of beers including sours and barrel aged beers. This is the place that Walt started, so go by and try the Saison de Walt (saison with brett). You won’t be disappointed.“

“Stopped in right as they opened. My bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. the beers were of high quality and i felt quite comfortable. I had talked to Walt before heading over and i know that my visit was so enjoyable because of what he did at Flix. Stop in here and raise a glass to Walt.“

“Stopped by for the Cask Ale festival. An interesting concept of movie theatre/brewery but think they do a great job. The bar had nice combination of guest taps and house beers. Didn’t try the food on my visit. Prices were nice considering it was a movie theatre. I would love to stop by for a feature sometime but worth a stop if in the area.“

“If you can get served at this place, the food is ok. Their beer selection is somewhere on par with an Applebee’s. The owner is a psycho, so if you’re interested in not being harassed, go at night, just don’t expect too much“

“Been there twice now and both times on a New Years. I love being able to watch first run movies, having a nice dinner, and enjoying fresh brews. There are no places like this near my house. The beers I have had are pretty much average, though. I did not expect a lot out of the wit I had last night but did expect more from the Funk series beer. Still, next time in this area I willbe back.“

“Was dropped off by the old lady as we were going to the dogpark nearby. Typical bar, burger was decent- that’s the real reason I was here, co-worker was gaga about the burgs. Only a few craft selections, like Walt said, a place that has some craft beer, but not a craft beer place per se. But if you’re hungry late in the afternoon, and you don’t feel like beating the unwashed masses at RR Donuts if they’re still open and want to get some walking in, it’ll work.“

“It’s a movie theater showing first run films, offers good food and craft beer in a comfortable setting while watching a new release. What’s not to like. I have no idea what score to give the place because I’ve never been to any establishment that is anything even resembling Flix. I have no other point of comparison. The guest taps and house brews are solid if not spectacular. Walt gave Wendy and me a detailed tour of the entire facility, including the brewing set up that is right next door. If you’re going to the place just for the craft beer experience and no movie, it’s not the first place I would choose as the drinking/waiting area is large and loud. However, if you’re planning on seeing a movie and enjoy drinking solid craft beer and eating good food while watching a first run flick? Again, what’s not to like?“

“This is also a movie theater besides a micro- brewery, so the bar ambiance, in my opinion, isn’t great. They do have ample seating - tables and chairs and a long bar. Where they excell is their selection. There are 42 taps ( including 5 or so of their own brews) and around 30 brands in bottles. I was ae to get Berlin- Weiss and a Scottish ale there.I hadn’t found them any place else in the area! Thanks Flix brewers.“

“Flix is a brewery inside a movie theater. Unfortunately, you feel like you are in a tacky movie theater lobby here. Other than the sterile ambience, Flix is a good idea. Their house beers are quality and they have plenty of local and national micro brews. Can’t beat their 3 dollar house beers and their food is OK and cheap. If I lived in Round Rock, I wouldn’t go anywhere else to see a movie.“

“Nice selection of Texas taps and their own stuff. Really good service and no complaints about beer prices. Didn’t eat or see a movie, but it would be a really good place to see a movie and have some beer.“

“Ambiance- nothing more then a movie theater lounge room with high top tables. There was decent music playing in the background though. Service was quite attentive. Selection was outstanding for what you have to remember is a movie theatre. The food was quite good but, Value $7.95 for a tiny little bowl of edemame was ridiculous, but the other entrees were more in line with what was received.. All this on top of some really now house brews and a well thought out selection of other locals and national crafts.“

“The other half was bitching that we didn’t have dinner and a movie in awhile so- tada!, we killed 2 birds with one stone. The seats are VERY nice- with call buttons that work- just beware when you pull out that table to eat- I felt reassured to had something eat if my meal didn’t fill me up with the crumbs from previous guests (wifey said EWWW but it didn’t bother me). Food- a mixed bag. It was ok; it wasn’t horrible, I guess we were expecting the place next door kind of food (the fries tasted like fish, I can verfiy that), and it wasn’t- decent in price and portion though. Beer- that’s the real reason why I was here! Very nice selection, and the house brews hit the spot. Service- the wifey is pulling my ear with a filet knife while I type this- COKE ZERO IS NOT DIET COKE! Bit of a ding for that, but the youngsters did try, and the bathroom was clean. Overall: Grab a growler to go if not catching a movie anytime, and I’ll be going back to catch movies and have a burger and beer. By myself. The other half wants no part of it (fish fries, coke situation, no extra napkins, food along the pull out tray wall).“

“Impressive space. Huge open lobby with a window into the brewing operation as well as a lengthy bar with a ton on tap. Sampled all of their brews, but had to pass on the mainstream fare in the theater. Love the concept, though.“

“Better selection than Homefield. Beers are surprisingly tasty and much better than what one would usually find at a place like this (cough, cough, Two Rows); I see a lot of promise in these guys. Kick Walt in the delicatos if you see him there.“

“Stopped in during RBWG 2012. It was a well-lit, nice looking place. Clean cut and reminds of a movie theater, as it should. Around the times movies were starting, the lobby would get pretty busy and there’d be kids all around. Interesting concept next to a bar.

My bartenders were always prompt, had an idea of what was on tap, and were very friendly.

A pretty solid selection of brews, and their brews were pretty solid as well.

I didn’t try any food while I was there.

The prices on the brews all seemed average.

Overall, this is a definite stop if you’re in the Round Rock/Austin area. Good brews and an interesting concept.“

“Great place. Huge beer line up. Great set up. Friendly staff. Professional. How could you ask for more than a place you can go have a couple of great beers. Go to a movie have dinner while you watch and have someone bring you a beer while your there. A must stop in my book.“

“Stopped by here via Walt. Didnt watch a movie but sat at the bar. They have a fantastic line up of taps on the wall as well as several in house brews to choose from which are excellent. The bartenders were extremely sociable as well. If you look up, you will see the brewhouse. Very clean and lively atmosphere. This will be a stop for us anytime when headed out to Austin.“

“Glad to be taken here. Did not go for the full blown cinematic scene - just went in, sat at the bar and had a beer - a very good beer and a very attentive waiter that honestly seemed very proud to be serving a good selection in Williamson County. Great job - good brews from the brewhouse and super guest taps - 48 taps? Really - this is more than amazing.“

“A few decent handles but nothing crazy...DFH 90 minute, etc. A beer place, not a beer geek place. Don’t waste your time if you are hunting for beer.“
