| 74 /100 Ulvö Hotell (Restaurant) ULVÖ HAMNGATA 105 “Visited a few times again end of Aug and early Sep 2016. Went for lunch one day, tried to book dinner but was full even at the end of the season. One time only went for a beer. Bar staff and waitor wasn’t very knowledgeable about the beer slection, but likely enough for a random tourist. Bottles are available to view in fridges though and many now are from small Swedish craft brewers. Happy to see several different ones from Bryggverket, then surprised they also had DeisgnBrew in stock. If going to Ulvön island, this is one of the few places around that have beer, eprhaps the olnly one with craft. Our lunch was fairly poor and very expensive, the bottles beer prices was fairly decent though. As for value, food very expensive and beer OK.Selection not huge, but when thinking where you are and how they used to be, a huge improvment. Latest visit on August 21, 2013. You won’t go to the island of Ulvön to hunt beers, or if you do you will be dissapointed. However, if you do go for the beautiful "Höga Kusten" and the archipelago, and get to Ulvön and feel like a beer, the place to go is Ulvö Hotell. It is a hotel, restaurant and bar, one of the few places on the island to get beer, but the one that by far has the best/most beers to offer. I’ve been here many many times since the early 90’s, the owners has changed many times, I even worked summers 1994-1996 in the kitchen. The beer selection is a new thing though, only a few years old, hopefully there to stay. Haven’t eaten there recently, but I know people who have and were very happy with it. Very nice scenery overlooking the water and the south island, as well as the beach promenade. Nice friendly service. Not too expensive considering where it is. Found a beer from Härnö brewery in Härnösand, first time I’ve seen it, also Kallholmen was available. Saw some US beers I haven’t seen in other places even. The girl in the bar seemed fairly knowledgable about the beers and seemed to have tasted most of them. Best bet to go there I’d say is in June or July, decent opening hours during August as well. Typical summer type of place, but they do some events for winter too.“ |
