“Nestled in between some lush green mountains in the town of Bristol lies one brewpub, the Bobcat Cafe right down RT 116 and East of Rt 7. This little well lit brewpub / cafe takes on a nice feel. Well kept and clean, pretty "happening." Service was good too. Bartender was jovial and quick with my orders. I was impressed with the burger and the beers were good. Looking forward to going back.“

“Right on the main drag in Bristol. I was able to find free street parking just up the road. Place was fairly busy on a Friday evening, but I was able to get a spot at the bar without any trouble. They had about four of their beers on tap, as well as a number of other Vermont brews, plus Sculpin. Bartender was a cool older guy, knew his shit and knew all the locals by name. Everything available as samplers for $2/each (Bobcat Beers), and $3 (others). I ordered two samples and the chili chicken wings. I thought both beers were solid (both also had to be entered into the DB), but the wings were a major disappointment. I guess I just selected wrong, cause others seem to like the food here.“

“Intel told me to check this place out due to the fact that they have BCBS and there’s no limit on bottles. Intel was correct, though they only were given 12 bottles, I ended up buying three and was satisfied with that. Pretty clean store, friendly service. Its right next to Shaw’s just off of Main Street. Check it out when in Bristol b/c I also got a Barrel aged Narhwal for a decent price ~ $13.“

“A small little Vermont town with a small brewpub that was overall solid. A small place with nuanced rustic feel to it. Service was solid during our visit and bartender was happy to talk about beer. 6 beers on tap during our visit and samplers were available. Food was solid and prices were quite nice. A pleasant surprise for a small Vermont town.“

“Old place, the beers are quite good. the food is outrageous and very very good. This is worth a stop if passing through. If you do’t like the beer, have some wine.“

“Bristol is a small town with a cute center typical of Vermont’s nicer and larger villages. Homey and cozy feel even though it’s essentially a restaurant. I would likely make the detour far more often if it opened more than for dinner. Always a nice experience though at the Bobcat, one of those brewpubs combining great food which changes all the time with a solid lineup of beers inclusing many winners, be it the Baltic Porter or the many impressive lagers. It is just too bad that it’s not closer to the other top Vermont spots, but then again, it makes every visit more special.“

“The selection at the time I was there wasn’t that good, but I know that sometimes it can be amazing ! The Bartender failed big time on food and drink order. Some of us ask for half pint and they received full, we ask for some specefic food and received something else. Great place anyway and we’ll give an other chance next time the Brewer is in.“

“July 31, 2011. Wow, a brewpub in a very small town, where Main Street only takes 5 minutes to walk. I went there at the opening and the bar section and it fills up very quickly, but the dining room that opened to 17h, was still some places when I left, maybe because it was a Sunday. The tap selection was smal at the time, but interesting, I like what I hade (Cali Com and Dennis Hop’rd). Food wise, it all look good, my steak was delicious and I want to try other stuff on the menu. The place it self is very nice, wood decor and cozy, I would go back there!“

“A small cozy brewpub in the small town of Bristol, VT. It has a fairly long tap list (8-10 beers) with mostly standard offerings but a few interesting beers. I was excited about the food since their menu is more upscale than most bars, but I found it was overpriced and not as good as I expected (I had a chicken tortilla soup which was super spicy). Overall, an ok place but I was slightly underwhelmed.“

“This is a B&B with a small bar area and a very good restaurant. The owners are transplants that are were very much into the local food movement before it became hip and trendy, and this reflects their beer selection. Typical imports and domestics plus a few taps dedicated to Vermont beers, including Long Trail, Otter Creek, Magic Hat and Trout River. Not the greatest beer selection, obviously, but if you are in this area and want a decent beer, a great meal, and don’t want to have to drive to Burlington, this is not a bad option.“

“The scenic town of Bristol (Population 4000) is considered the "Gateway to the Green Mountains" and is home to the Independence Day Outhouse Races. It is also here where you can find Bobcat Café. Situated downtown, and across the street from its’ Bedford Falls-like town square (You can almost hear George Bailey cry, "Merry Christmas Bobcat Café!"). Nevertheless it can be a very popular place. My first visit involved a 15-minute wait. My most recent one, we just grabbed a seat at the bar. With that, the Bobcat is somewhat upscale and serves excellent food and several house beers. An intimate space, it is divided into a small, and sometimes cramped, bar area and a narrow dining room; in the back is Bobcat’s small brewery; despite the limited size, I have had the opportunity to quaff their (very malty) porter and, most recently, a Scottish Wee Heavy that tasted like an amber ale with bacon. In any case, there is on hand a diverse selection of regional micros. While great food, cozy ambience and superb service always make for an enjoyable night out at the Bobcat Café, great beer can always be had in Vermont. Rock Art Brewery, another superlative example, is a 90-minute drive away. There are daily tours and free samples“

“I have been wanting to visit here for a long time and I was not disappointed. Located right on the main "drag" in downtown Bristol. We arrived a bit before the dining room opened and were immediately "assigned" a table for when we were ready. We sat at the bar while waiting. The decor is old, warm and homey... lots of real wood everywhere. The bartender was very social and quite knowledgeable about the beer that they were serving. They had 12 taps with their own beer that night along with a small selection of "foreign" taps. I also noticed that they have a "mug club" here and the tender told us it was fully subscribed... a good sign. When we did get to dinner, I was pleasantly surprised to find more than just the standard pub fare... in fact some of their offerings were down right unusual... Vermont venison/chorizo meatloaf for example. I had a nice salad and something called a "pecora" (batter fried slivered vegetables), which were both very tasty. The business while we were there was busy (Saturday night), but the staff efficiently moved them through. As with the bartender, the wait-staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will hope to get back there sometime soon.“

“Really enjoyed this place, all wooden. The building is turn of the 20th century, with a long bar, Victorian in look. The selection of house brews was low that day (Dec. 26 2008) but there were other decent offerings available (MH Participation Lager and Roxy Rolles, Blond Bombshell, SNPA, Maudite, Smutty Old Brown Dog). Food was quite nice, with a happy hour on appetizers. I took the cheese platter with beer sampler, and the Vietnamese Shrimp Cakes. Deli! Highly recommended. Service was friendly and attentive.“

“I loved this place! Another great bartender, nice local folks at bar to chat with. Wonderful pub ambience. Hubby had the stout and I had the App-Gap (since I had just driven over it). Driving 17 W is not something you want to do after too many beers. We enjoyed the App-Gap - hubby so-so liked the stout. Had the mussels with garlic, tarragon cream sauce and toasted rustic bread. - AWESOME. Almost wanted to drive back up the next day just for these babies.“

“Excellent restaurant which happens to brew some satisfying beers. The food here is high above the average brewpub restaurant in terms of quality and you should definitely have dinner here with your brews (the only disappointment I ever had was a Masaman Curry which was all fire). All beers are well made, while being easy-goers requiring replenishment. They didn’t have many house brews on tap a couple years ago, but they now have as many as 8 at the same time. A recommended establishment; I wish more brewpubs would cook food as good as the beers they try to brew.“

“Phenomenal new addition to the burgeoning NW Vermont brewing scened, the Bobcat opened last year and is still finding its footings, beerwise, in that it never seems to have more than four of its own beers on tap. But what beers! The Old Ale is the best I've had, the (dry) stout first class, lager and bitter both fine. The food can hold its own with most of what the Burlington area has to offer, though it might not impressive sophisticated urbanites, and the unusual decor is among the most beautiful I've seen in a brewpub. Nice pictures of various London pubs along one wall -- the brewing is clearly important here even if the restaurant is what gets the raves from the press. Roughly a 45 minute drive south of downtown Burlington.“
