“Small place off of Rte 7. Shared with a small sandwich shop. No flights available, individual tasters at $3 each. Very quiet. Small makeshift patio. Decent service, cans to go.“

“Drop-Inn is a rustic establishment consisting of the small brewery and one-room tap room; there is a small bar and several tables. Look around and check out the beer paraphernalia from around the world. Their beers are wonderful; excellent IPAs along with a sweet porter and my favorite, Heart of Lothian, a rich and malty Scottish ale. Many of the beers can be taken away or purchased in cans. A worthy trip if in the area, or on the way to the nearby Otter Creek. You can now get food next door from the Grapevine Grill. “

“I visited here after Champlain Orchards on the way up north to The Alchemist and it was a good in-between stop. 6 house taps, plus 4 additional from The Shed (also brewed in house). $8 flights of 4 available, and staff will let you sample anything also. Service was annoyingly slow - always taking a while to get whatever we requested. Beer was decent, but far from the best VT has to offer. Worth a stop if in the area.“

“Just off the main road south of the pretty college town of Middlebury. Shares space with another business in a small stripmall type set up with plenty of parking. Tall L-shaped bar and some restaurant tables, with a few more tables and comfy chairs out front in the parking lot. Eight beers on offer, with flights of six - I'm unhappy when the math doesn't work but you can do tasters of the other two beers for a buch apiece. Beers are so-so, mainly safe and unexciting. Friendly staff. Mostly locals although there was one out-of-towners besides me. They do have a brewery pup, extra atmosphere points for that. No food but they get delivery from a nearby restaurant, and both staff were munching away, a good sign. Worth a stop.“

“I had to come here to visit the brewery in which Rob Tod was born, so to speak, washing kegs. Not sure if it's even the same place anymore, I'm sure it's changed as much as Allagash has. Now it's a large modern production facility with a small modern taproom on the front. It's calle The Visitors Center but it's really just a small swag shop, and a small bar with bar tables and a view through glass into the bottling line of the brewhouse. You can have a set flight of four beers for ten bucks, or six, ten or 16 ounces of any beer (smaller pours for the few hi abv ones). Beers are tasty enough. Food was tasty pub grub, and you can smell the meat smoker from the parking lots, so BBQ seems to be ther strong point. Staff were friendly and outgoing, generous with samples, and clearly enjoyed working there and with each other. All in all a very pleasant stop.“

“For being an upscale sort of place, the food is really good. Tapline is well kept. Service is never bad. Always clean. And practically every time, I’ve been here, the manager comes out to even check in. I don’t usually rate the expensive places high and say I’ll go back if someone else is paying, but honestly, if you’re in Middlebury and don’t want the cheap pub fare of Two Brothers, seriously, come here. You won’t be disappointed. If I lived closer and had a better paying job, I think I would live off this restaurant. Middlebury’s hidden gem!“

“Visited on a Thursday later in the afternoon, almost evening. They are sort of up on a hill with a restaurant. Small dedicated parking lot shared by the two. On my visit they had 7 beers on tap ranging in quality from decent and pretty good. The taproom is kind of small, bit seems sufficient, as they seemed to have a steady flow of 2-3 patrons at a time. Most folks just come in for growler fills. I had a flight of all their beers. Pricing was good. Only $6 for my flight. I believe the guy pouring the beer that night was the brewer. He seemed very knowledgeable and gave in depth descriptions of each beer as he poured it. That part was pretty awesome. All around, the place is pretty cool, and if they get the beer part going a bit stronger, I think they have nothing but good things to come their way.“

“Staff was super friendly and knowledable. Very pleasant feeling about the place. Beers are pretty solid, but nothing outstanding. I tried a cheese plate good cheese well presented. I could see hsanging out here if I lived nearby.“

“So I just dropped in to Drop-In about 15 minutes before close. Guy working was very nice and sampled me through the lineup anyway, describing each beer as he poured it. Sampler was $5, plus $1 for the Barleywine. There was certainly some variation in beer quality, but none were really flawed, and a couple were pretty darn good. Apparently they also run a brewing school out of the building, originated at Humboldt brewing in California and moved here. Fun little stop! Recommended.“

“The place doesn’t look like much from the outside and once you go in, beer is basically to the front of you and off to the right for the next 3 aisles. Yes, there’s some dust on some of the bottles, but there is quite a big variety if one looks hard enough you can find the fresh stuff. They allow singles and service was adequate. Cute babe behind the counter gave me a nice smile. Value seemed decent for the area. I’d go back when in Middlebury.“

“Visited in early June during friends bachelor party. Nice welcoming feeling to the starting area with a nice view of the brewery at work. Basic Otter Creek beers, some Wolvers and Sheds but nothing special. Staff was awesome. Knowledgeable and even heroes us plan out how and where to go to get Heady Topper. Small gift shop available. Was worth visiting.“

“I was going to start my review with "Dropped in..." but then I noticed AdamChandler already did, and I didn’t want to be redundant. Plus, I made that joke enough times on the way there that my wife was pretty done with it. Interestingly, they were teaching beer school in the back (through the glass wall) on our visit. I liked the way the place was decorated. The lady working was very friendly. I liked some of the beers more than others, but I thought they made solid stuff. The key lime beer was the best, which was a complete shock to me as I didn’t expect to like it. It was also utterly unique. $3 sampler and good prices for growlers as well, though they only fill their own, which is kind of a annoying.“

“Went here to meet an out-of-town friend. I noticed they had about 25 local taps. I didn’t have any food but my buddy did and it looked really good. For a Monday night, it was a pretty happening place. Service was decent. Decent place, I’ll go back when in Middlebury.“

“Dropped in last year. Tons of English / UK artifacts. Beers were very english-inspired. the staff was great and they had a lot more swag than you’d expect for a small brewery. wouldn’t go back just because I wasn’t a huge fan of the beers.“

“Big place, huge seating area. has Wolvers and other brews on tap from the parent company. Not a lot to say about this one. the beers are okay. no pilot brews. there is a small store for bottles to go. You can clearly see the brewery @ work behind you. but it’s not a lot to write home about.“

“A nice variety of unexpected beers. A pale ale brewed with vanilla bean and coca nibs stood out as something I haven’t had before. Their old English style IPA helped teach me that not all IPA’s are bitter west coast style (just not my liking). Very knowledgable tap room attendant who even helps us plan our next stops on the passport. We gladly brough some beer home with us, which I always feel is one of the best compliments I can give a brewer.“

“With an inviting little taproom and pub and friendly staff, this was a perfect little rest stop on the drive thru Vermont. They didn’t have too many things on tap that we can’t get at home, but we still found a couple new ones and enjoyed the company. Recommended! (Brewery #670)“

“Two Brothers Tavern has 25 beers on draught with a diverse selction that ranges from your local VT breweries (Otter Creek, Wolaver’s, Northshire, Harpoon, Magic Hat, Rock Art, Long Trail and more) to Budweiser, Guiness and other domestic and international beers such as Rogue, Naragansett, Anchor Steam, Spaten, Newcastle and more. The best selection I have seen in Vermont. A must stop with great loacla Vermont food and friendly service!“

“Good sized bar that make you feel inside the bottling plant. Good selection of all you normal Otter Creek and Wolavers beers. Two of the taps had The Shed brews from Stowe. They also had a light hoppy session ale on as a test batch that was very good. The Staff was very friendly and chatted us up about beers. Some people from long trail were also there bottling and having lunch at the same time. Turkey sandwich was great but I here the cheddar soup was excellent. Great brewery to visit even though they don’t offer tours.“

“Small tasting room with a nice wall map where you can put pins in for where you are from...always fun. My wife and I enjoyed a 6 beer sampler tray and some of the free popcorn. The bartender was quite knowledgeable. Apparently they recently started offering food as well, but we didn’t try it. They also have a small merch, bottle and growler shop. It’s definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.“

“Went to this place on the way through vermont and it was alright. They had limited tasting times so we had to hang around a while at the brewery and there isn’t much to do in the area. The beer was decent and the tour wasn’t bad. Worth a stop through if you come at the right time.“

“I have a severe bias to this brewery since I was once employed here as the "filter guy". Its really some great beer, and the people who run it are great too. I just hope they didnt screw up one of my all-time favorites, the Alpine Ale, by making it "dark" : )“

“beer tour 09/21/08 stopped by on our way to Burlington Vt. Almost missed brewery but for the alert eyes of my wife! Tasting room was typical, cases of beer and signs promoting various beers, cold cooler on one end. Circular bar held 6 taps featuring both Otter Creek and Wolavers brand brews. Bartender had a good knowledge of beer and styles as well as company history and was very helpful in directing us towards other Vermont breweries. Beer was pretty good, Wolavers Oatmeal Stout and IPA being my favorite from the available brews, and the Otter Creek pale ale (which is distributed in my home area) was already a known quantity. Recommend a stop.“

“I liked this brewery. I didn’t take a tour, but, had fun talking to the people in the tasting room, which included one of the brewers. They had most of there beers available to try or buy while I was there, except for a few seasonals, which is expected.“

“Small brewery that also brews Wolaver’s organic beers... the tour gets you in amongst tanks and machinery. If you’re unclear on the beermaking process, this is a good place to go, otherwise the only benefit is to see the organic vs. convential processes. 6 beers to try in the tasting room, decent selection of merchandise (the t-shirt I bought is quite a conversation piece here in Charlottesville, VA). Decent daily specials. Operation seems very tight... some top notch beers. I could drink the Wolaver’s Oatmeal Stout for breakfast.“

“This place was awesome. Rolled in here on a brewery road trip, and was extremely impressed. We arrived between tours, so we chatted with the girls working the counter, sampled every beer they had at least twice, and enjoyed some great cheese and sausage they had out. Informative, friendly staff, fun tour, totally worth a trip.“

“I’ve not taken the tour, though I’ve heard it’s OK. The main reason to visit is for the occasional tap-only beers that are available here in growlers and in a very very select number of local outlets (i.e., I’ve never found any place that has them though I haven’t looked really hard). Barrel-aged specials, fruit-accented versions of standards, and a smoked beer are recent offerings. Worth the trip to Middlebury just for this? Probably not, though it’s a nice little town.“
